Is the Internet Safe?, Upskilling Burnout & Social Media Call-Outs

Like, follow and share. We are everywhere your friends listen to their podcast. On this episode, we get into AI and cybersecurity, why waiting for the AI bubble to burst is not a strategy, and whether regulation can keep up. We also discuss flying cars, smart glasses and whether we’ll still have jobs in ten years. Spoiler: making and selling physical goods might not survive this revolution. Then we get into upskilling burnout. These labs keep on releasing models and there's always something to learn, while old knowledge is becoming less useful. We talk about changing roles in tech, the pressure to constantly adapt, and how we should value work when AI is giving us back more hours. We also discuss cloning software and whether building the product is still the hard part. Finally, we get into COVID marriages, loneliness, money and the decisions people made during lockdown. Emmanuella explains the different categories of “Batch B” in the dating pool, and we consider whether going back to an ex is really the answer. PS: Please take your breakup to the group chat. Thank you. Tell us what you’d like us to discuss next and who you’d like to hear on the pod. LIKE, SHARE, COMMENT AND LISTEN AGAIN. Pleaseeee!!! 🧎🏾‍♀️🧎🏾‍♂️

Lagos Life, The Death of the Tech Dream & Friendship Recession

We're backkkkk! After disappearing for over a year, we've finally remembered that we have a podcast. Did you miss us? Please say yes. Anyway, we're catching up on what we've been up to since our last episode, before getting into some of the things that have been happening while we've been away. We discussed, the fastest growing startup; Lagos Life, their recent raise at $10 million and what the future could look like. We get into startup valuations, the Nigerian tech ecosystem, and whether everybody has collectively agreed to suspend disbelief. Next, we get into the Nigerian tech dream. Remember when everybody was going to learn to code and become a millionaire? We talk about the realities of building a career in tech, the expectations that came with the boom, and how things are looking now with the acceleration of AI. Finally, we're discussing the friendship recession. Why does making and maintaining friendships become increasingly difficult as we get older? Between work, relationships, marriage, and everybody generally having their own lives, how are we supposed to keep up? It's been a minute, so there's plenty of catching up, a few unsolicited opinions, and probably some things we should've kept to ourselves. We're glad to be back. Hopefully, you still like us. Love, Tolu & Emmanuella.

Net Worth, Profitability vs Growth & Radical Honesty with Femi

Like, follow and share. We are everywhere your friends listen to their podcast. On this delayed episode, we have our friend, Femi over to discuss our next financial goals. Tolu wants to be a millionaire in dollars, and we explore that. We 'delve' into the financial instability that comes with entrepreneurship. On the back of Chowdeck's $9m raise, we share our opinions on whether African startups should chase profitability or growth. We discuss the oxymoron of VC demands and expectations. We also answer what we would do if the world was ending. Off the back of that, we talk about radical honesty in close relationships. As always, Emmanuella never skips an opportuinity to drag the wretchedness of Nigerian 'elites'. We branch off into discussing luxury fashion in Nigeria. We didn't forget to chipper a bit about the Lagos dating scene. We'd like to hear from you on what you'll do if you find out the world ends in a week, but no one else knows this. $1B Job Offers, Creator Feedback Culture & Romantic Dopamine.

First of all, follow or subscribe, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. On this very non-impromptu episode, we discuss billionaire friendships. We are not obsessed with Meta, I promise, but we talked about the ridiculous compesation offers Zuck is shopping for talent with. Why is it hard to critique Nigerian creators? we pondered (lmao). We also spoke about the quality of Nigerian movies. We touched a little bit on premarital sex guilt and explored Y Combinator's 2025 Fall Request for startup lists. This led us to talk about just how much AI can disrupt consulting. Figma had an IPO! And we touched a bit on the evolution of product companies in Nigeria. Finally, we discussed long term relationships and the discomfort that comes with the boredom of stability; how inevitable is it and when to opt out. We spoke a bit about how realistic it is to just opt out and finally we explore alternatives for managing it. We wrap up with things you think you should check out and narrate what would happen to your vendor when you try to buy Otedola's book in traffic. LIKE, SHARE, COMMENT AND LISTEN AGAIN. We touched high tax as a migration concern for high income earners. We also spoke a lot about AI; the war for talent, when it would take over our jobs and what living in an AGI era might look like. Then we hopped into discussing the Nigerianisms of the 'elite'. We also spoke about friendships. Who knew your friends only like you because you are single and what are post marriage ethics. We ended with Tolu informing us of his extensive research on rise of polyamory in Lagos. ps: If Emmanuella's date listens to this podcast, pretend like you didn't and act normal. LIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE so that we'd release the next episode soon enough. Ta daaa.
