    Episode 118 Unspoken Pain In Leadership Roles

What happens when the woman everyone calls strong needs a place to tell the truth about how she is doing? In Episode 118 of The Evolution of Me Podcast, “Unspoken Pain In Leadership Roles,” Rev. Melodie introduces October’s theme, Mended Leaders: Healing the Wounds Leadership Leaves Behind. This compassionate conversation creates room for female Christian leaders to acknowledge the hurt that can accompany responsibility, service, and relationships within ministry and the marketplace. This month begins with an invitation to care for the woman carrying the assignment, including the experiences she may have struggled to name. Drawing from Psalm 55:12–14, Mark 14:32–34, and Psalm 147:3, Melodie reflects on betrayal, honest expressions of sorrow, and God’s tender care for the brokenhearted. The episode acknowledges the particular hurt of broken trust while also distinguishing harmful conduct from disagreement or a necessary boundary. Honest reflection makes room for both feelings and facts. You will consider why leaders sometimes remain silent: fear of losing credibility, concern about confidentiality, previous experiences of being dismissed, or discomfort with receiving care. You will also hear practical language for naming a wound, examining the conclusions you have drawn about yourself, and choosing a trustworthy setting in which to seek support. This episode offers manageable steps toward care, including clarifying what happened, identifying what you need now, asking about confidentiality before sharing deeply, and making one practical adjustment to your responsibilities or boundaries. It affirms that forgiveness and restored trust are distinct, and that accountability and changed conduct matter when a relationship has caused harm. For pastors, ministers, pastor’s wives, ministry leaders, and Christian women entrepreneurs, this conversation offers permission to be honest without making every private experience public. You do not have to turn pain into a lesson for others before you have received care yourself.  Your reflection this week: “The pain I have had difficulty naming is…” Complete the sentence privately, at your own pace, and identify one action that would support you this week. That might mean asking for help, making an appointment, or clarifying a boundary.     Episode 117 Wisdom That Protects Vision and Relationships

    Send us Fan Mail How do you move a vision forward when a decision may strain a relationship? A longtime volunteer resists a change. A trusted friend needs clearer expectations. Your team believes in the mission but cannot sustain the way the work is organized. These moments call for wisdom that attends to both the assignment and the people involved. In Episode 117 of The Evolution of Me Podcast, “Wisdom That Protects Vision and Relationships,” Rev. Melodie concludes September’s theme, Leading with Insight: Making God-Honoring Decisions Under Pressure. This conversation helps female Christian leaders make thoughtful decisions, communicate with integrity, and lead through necessary change with care. Drawing from James 3:17 and Acts 6:1–7, Melodie explores how spiritual wisdom becomes visible in the way leaders respond to concerns. When neglected widows become the focus of a complaint in the early church, the apostles address the need and establish a clearer way to share responsibility.     Episode 116 Avoiding Emotional Decision Making in Leadership

Leadership brings moments of anger, hurt, fear, and excitement. How we respond in those moments can affect people and relationships long after the feeling has passed. In Episode 116 of The Evolution of Me Podcast, “Avoiding Emotional Decision Making in Leadership,” Rev. Melodie continues September’s theme, Leading with Insight: Making God-Honoring Decisions Under Pressure. This episode helps female Christian leaders acknowledge their emotions while making thoughtful decisions that reflect their faith, responsibilities, and values. Drawing from Nehemiah 5:6–7, Melodie explores a leader’s response to injustice: Nehemiah becomes angry, considers the matter, and confronts wrongdoing. Alongside James 1:19–20, this example offers a foundation for responding with care without dismissing legitimate concerns or avoiding necessary accountability. The episode offers a practical process: name the emotion, establish an appropriate pause, return to the facts and your leadership responsibility, seek honest counsel, and choose a response you can explain respectfully. Melodie continues September’s theme, Leading with Insight: Making God-Honoring Decisions Under Pressure.
