    Brandon McNace buys human beings out of modern day slavery in Pakistan for about $300 each, and what those brick kiln families taught him about hearing God's voice will rearrange your faith. He started drinking in eighth grade, saw demons during sleep paralysis in college, and got his life turned around by a Brazilian evangelist who told him everything about himself at an altar. Years later a message that looked like a scam bot ("Shalom, man of God") turned out to be a Pakistani pastor who works with 4.5 million Christian slaves making bricks from sunup to sundown. Brandon flew to Pakistan alone in April 2022, got surrounded by armed guards at the airport, and bought his first group of families out of slavery that same day. In this conversation he walks through a day in the life of a brick kiln family, the man who refused to convert to Islam to get free, and the 70-year-old woman who told him "he died for me, I'm good, use the money on somebody else." The near-death experience forced him to admit his human understanding was limited, so the numbers guy went looking at the data.
