Live Podcast: Books for Men?

Welcome to Audio Germanicus, the podcast feature of Germanicus Publishing. In this live podcast, I showcased the books I’ve gotten and are currently reading in the past month or so. The subject of “books for men” is currently a hot one. There has been enough ink spilled on this, so instead I want to showcase what books for men are there. And I know these ones are for men because I’m a man myself and I’m loving these books. The books I showcased in this stream: * The Mamba Mentality: How I Play by Kobe Bryant * The Santara Commentaries, Book 1: The Padri by Michael P. Marpaung (me!) * Review of the book on Upstream Reviews (by Brian Heming) * Voyage to Alpha Centauri by Michael D. O’Brien * The Walter Ulric Files by Jack McLiam (AKA Ian T. Wilson) * Barren Metal: A History of Capitalism as the Conflict between Labor and Usury by E. Michael Jones Get full access to Germanicus Publishing at germanicus.substack.com/subscribe

A Storyteller or a Storyshower?

Welcome to Audio Germanicus, the podcast feature of Germanicus Publishing. I hope didn’t keep you waiting for too long. In this episode, I did a reading of a blog article by author Misha Burnett. The title is “Are You a Storyteller or a Storyshower?” Click on the link to read the article for yourself. Also, be sure to follow Misha on Twitter/X; he’s great. This is honestly an impromptu thing inspired by my constant running into that cliche writing advice, “show, don’t tell”. One of them was a feedback to my story. Now I must stress that this isn’t meant to be an attack on him or a defensive reaction. In fact, I welcome feedback because I do want to get better. But this is just something I wanted to bring up as a counterpoint since I find myself coming back to this article from time to time. Story Time: The Santara Commentaries Prologue

Welcome to Audio Germanicus, the podcast feature of Germanicus Publishing. Here, you can find the readings of my written works. This is the third and final installment of what I like to call The Scoot Trilogy. For this episode, I present the reading of The Santara Commentaries, my ongoing military serial. At the moment, I consider The Santara Commentaries to be my magnum opus and perhaps my finest work in Germanicus Publishing. But don’t take my word for it, here’s what The Brothers Krynn has to say about it: "This is a story that surprised me as it gripped me from the first word. Michael P. Marpaung showed he definitely knows what he’s doing with a very particular skill and deft hand he guides us into the world of Santara where heroes are true and maidens pure, and harlots not so much and where our Narrator, usually is in the third person his is not." Enjoy. -Michael P. Marpaung Get full access to Germanicus Publishing at germanicus.substack.com/subscribe

Book Trailer: Inquisitor's Promise

Welcome to Audio Germanicus, the podcast feature of Germanicus Publishing. Right now, I’m doing some revamping of this Substack. This will include some audio narration of stories and articles that have been published here. I will start with the book trailer of my debut novel, Inquisitor’s Promise. Actually, I have posted this before. But that’s why I call this an “Episode Zero”. Credit to Isaac Young for putting this trailer together and Son of Sonnet for the superb voice-acting. Get the book on Amazon or Lulu. Or you can be a paid subscriber and download the E-book here in Germanicus Publishing. Inquisitor Aeneas Aquilanus made two promises: one to his dying father, the other to his beloved Galatea. But politics in the 74th century can be violent and complicated. And with an apocalyptic threat heading for Earth while five different girls are in love with him, Aeneas has his work cut out for him. Enjoy. -Michael P.
