The $161 Billion Lease That Moved My Board

Send us Fan Mail A chip company would not name the customer who could borrow up to $42 billion from it. Then that customer filed to go public, and had to open its books. • Two episodes ago, Broadcom said one customer could borrow up to $42 billion from it, only for lease payments. It never said who. Anthropic's filing to go public, Oct 26, 2026, names Broadcom for the same $42 billion, with the same rule. That is the customer • Anthropic agreed to spend up to $120.5 billion with SpaceX's AI company. After early 2027, either side can cancel on 90 days' notice. Big number. Easy exit. It does not count • Anthropic owes Google, Amazon and Microsoft at least about $269 billion on deals it can't back out of: "regardless of actual usage." But nothing locks the price. A promise to pay over years, not cash up front • The Broadcom chip lease: about $161 billion over 5 years, in 20 payments that are "fixed and equal," and the lease is "non-cancelable by the parties." Can't hand back the keys, and the payment can't go down. Both boxes checked • The Superstar (the AI chips) goes from 3 to 7. Anthropic supplies the receipt, as the buyer. One company, so 7, not 8. The first move on my board since episode 1 The filing lines are on screen in the video. €9.3 Billion of Customer Money, and I Still Won't Count It

Send us Fan Mail One company on Earth makes the machine that prints the tiniest parts of the most advanced chips. So when there's only one store in town, who's paying extra? • ASML's own annual report says it's the world's only maker of EUV machines. On Oct 14, 2026, it said some customers want to place orders for 2029 and even 2030 • ASML raised prices on its most critical products: some in 2027, full effect from 2028. That's the seller talking. It doesn't prove anybody pays more • TSMC, the company that makes NVIDIA's chips, on its Oct 15, 2026 call: “The tool price inflation is real.” • €9.3 billion of customer money tied to orders on ASML's balance sheet at Sept 27, 2026, up €5.7 billion in 3 months. Why it still doesn't count: money down on every order is a habit, not a concession • The Toolmaker (manufacturing equipment) holds at 5, on Price hike the buyer admitted. TSMC supplies the receipt. One buyer, so 5, not 6 The filing lines are on screen in the video.
