Donating your body to science is a final, noble act. If you’re donating it to one of the world’s most prestigious medical schools you might even hope you will contribute to a scientific breakthrough. But at Harvard Medical School something went wrong…the head of their mortuary had gone rogue and in 2019 a shocking discovery led to the realisation that body parts were being sold online. So how did Cedric Lodge go from respected member of the Harvard community to running a network of human oddity collectors, and making huge profits? And what were their customers doing with the body parts? In Head Number 7 geneticist and ancient DNA expert Professor Turi King, takes you inside Cedric’s descent into darkness, finds out more about the people who donated their bodies only to be sold for parts and asks, who owns your body after you die? Interesting
Jan 26
The story is interesting. I appreciate the narrator, Prof. Turi King, but be prepared for her style of delivery. I think she’s brilliant and well-spoken, and while her voice is pleasant, it has a very sing-song quality. For example, she pronounces words like ‘idea’ with an exaggerated musical inflection, almost as if she’s singing it or asking a question (‘eye-DEE-yUH?’). This style, intended to keep the listener engaged I believe, can be pretty distracting for much of the listen.
So very well done

This is a well-written, well-researched, and well-presented program without exploitation. The presenter has a beautiful voice which made listening pleasurable.
Where is the crime story?
Feb 14
95% of the story revolves around discussions of how body parts are bought/sold and how we, as humans perceive death and such. I often found myself thinking about basically anything rather than paying attention to any of the episodes. I don’t feel I learned much about the crime itself, which is what drew me to this podcast. I feel the opportunity to tell an unbelievable story was lost.
Too drawn out

It was hard to stay with this one since they keep deviating from the actual crime story to speak about cadaver issues in general. Felt like they were dragging a 20 minute story out into several hours with those verbal detours.
