Hi I’m 11 and I have adhd. Funny story, and don’t blame my parents, but when I was in second grade I started to fall behind in school. I would cry when I got frustrated during tests, and when my teacher came over to ask what’s wrong I could kind of like put my hands on my ears and fidget with my ears and like just fold them. But it looked a lot like plugging them although wasent and could hear fine, my teacher said not to plug my ears while a teacher is talking. So now little me is freaking out because I’m like ‘ no! I’m not plugging my ears! ‘ but how do I tell my teacher that? So a little later, my parents are like “hey your gonna take these meds to help you focus!” So yeah they didn’t tell me that I had adhd yet and they hadn’t told me then either. So yeah I like took my meds everyday and don’t think much of it. So one day im walking with some of my friends ( they aren’t my friends anymore) at recess and we see a girl about a year younger then us. ( we were in like fourth grade then) any way she was probably lonely or something because she’s like talking to herself and then one of my friends say adhd and start pointing at her like it’s a major disability. So I was like ‘ oh ok. Adhd is bad. Your weird if you have it’ and yeah. So let’s skip forward a few months. My parents are divorced and I’m going to my dads house for that night and my mom ask my dad “do you have her adhd meds?” And I still didn’t know I had adhd. So I was like “wait what?” Yeah so my parents were like “wait, you didn’t know?“ lol yeah my parents probably over estimated my intelligence… but yeah so the next day at lunch I sit next to my bestie, and I’m like “gurl, I have adhd” and the she says “you didn’t know?” WHAT?!?! Why did everyone buy me know? But yeah that’s how I found out. It wasn’t funny then but it is now
