    Navigating Adult Friendships: Forgiveness, Forbearance and Love

    Hi Growth Buddies! Making friends isn't that pretty. Building meaningful friendships that survive different seasons of life could be a different story. In this episode of Bleana’s Voice, I'm seated with a guest who has had some solid friendships over half a decade, Edidiong Udoesu. We're talking about navigating adult friendships and what it really takes to build relationships that are meaningful, healthy, and lasting. We explore why friendship is foundational to so many of the relationships and connections we have, and why choosing the right people and becoming the right kind of friend matters. We also get into the reality that even good friendships will have misunderstandings and difficult moments, making the ability to forgive and extend grace an important part of maintaining meaningful relationships. One of the biggest parts of our conversation is the power of words. We share stories and reflect on how the words we speak can either encourage, heal, build or hurt and damage another. And because our faith is part of the conversation too, we look at what the Bible teaches us about our words, our relationships, and how we treat the people around us.     Your First Failure Isn't Your Final Story: Lessons From 9+ Years in Broadcasting

    Hi Growth Buddies! What do you do when your first attempt at something you love ends in humiliation? In this episode of Bleana’s Voice, I'm seated with a broadcast journalist, Mr Isaac Isaac (aka Marizona), who has over nine years of radio experience, to hear the story behind his journey. Although he could speak fluently in everyday life, he struggled to put his words together naturally while presenting on air. He stuttered, struggled, and was mocked and humiliated by people around him, including colleagues and those in senior positions. But he didn't let that experience become the end of his story. With the support of people who saw potential in him and a personal decision to work on himself, improve his communication skills, and keep trying, he continued to grow. Today, he has grown into an experienced radio presenter and broadcast journalist, working across radio and television and taking on different broadcasting opportunities. In this conversation, he shares what that journey taught him about self-improvement, rejection, faith, and consistency, even when the results aren't immediate. We also go beyond his personal story to discuss the reality of broadcast journalism in Nigeria, including censorship, media ownership, the influence of those who fund media organisations, and the opportunities and challenges that come with working in journalism. Most importantly, this episode is for anyone who is currently struggling with something they desperately want to become good at. Simple takes us back to his university days, where his passion for broadcasting started at his school's campus radio station. From there, he stepped into commercial radio as an unpaid intern, willing to learn and gain experience even when there was no immediate financial reward. His commitment and dedication eventually earned him a stipend, and when the organization expanded into television, he gained the opportunity to develop both radio and television broadcasting experience. We also talked about his growth as a broadcast journalist, the power of showing up when nobody is watching, and how he turned his natural gift for communication into a creative skill and a source of income. In this episode of Bleana’s Voice, I'm sitting with my good friend, Divine, an engineer and tech professional, to talk about the importance of learning practical skills alongside your education. He shares how a mentor introduced him to programming and encouraged him to explore what he could do beyond his academic education. That decision led him to learn Python, develop valuable technical skills, and eventually earn some money from what he had learned. And, of course, we talk about AI. Divine explains how he uses AI as a tool for implementation, problem-solving, brainstorming, and mapping out ideas, rather than allowing AI to do the entire thing.
