Veronica was a young mother who reported abuse, documented harassment, and had an active protection order in place. Larry stood beside her, supported her, documented what he witnessed, and pushed for her to be heard and protected.Over time, multiple reports were filed across several departments. There were repeated allegations of harassment, documented unwanted contact, and escalating concerns for her safety. Yet despite all of this, the outcome remained the same. Reports were taken, notes were made, and cases were closed.This episode walks through those documented reports and the pattern that formed over time — a pattern of repeated calls for help that did not result in meaningful intervention. As the situation escalated, so did the pressure surrounding Veronica’s life, including ongoing conflict, fear, and instability.After years of alleged abuse, repeated harassment, and a system that did not intervene in a way that changed the outcome, Veronica reached her breaking point. She took her own life.This is not just a single incident or one isolated failure.
