Doubting Everything: Trust Your Intuition When You've Lost It | Tania Ho

You don't need a data point or a life-altering diagnosis to trust your intuition again — you need to survive the moment you stopped trusting it, and rebuild from there. "No, I'm gonna trust myself and not follow what you said," says Tania Ho, describing the moment her retreat-centre partnership with her own teacher broke down. "That was the beginning of that breakdown. And there were so many other moments too — that's what the industry is doing, that's what the trends are, that's what other people are doing. But it's so important always to come back to myself." Tania isn't a data person, and this isn't a stat-driven conversation — it's an experiential one, built on nine years of running a wellness retreat from the ground up with no construction or hospitality-management background to fall back on. We talk about what happened when Tania, an intuitive soul guide and the founder of Museflower Retreat & Spa in Chiang Rai, Thailand, quit her spa management job after her father died at 25, co-founded a retreat centre with a teacher she trusted completely, and then watched that partnership implode within six months of opening. She talks about the doubt spiral that followed — "can I really trust myself?" — and how she rebuilt from there, not by finding a better teacher to follow, but by learning to trust her own gut instead. We also get into the two types of sensitive people she sees at her retreats, why she runs an all-vegetarian, coffee-free centre on purpose, and how she reads the difference between a guest who needs a spa day and one who needs to properly fall apart for a week. Tania Ho is the founder and owner of Museflower Retreat & Spa, an all-inclusive vegetarian wellness retreat centre in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand, and an intuitive soul guide helping sensitive people trust their own intuition through energy tools, oracle card readings and fire release ceremonies. She's also the host of Embrace Your Sacred Nature, her own podcast on wellness practices and energy tools. museflowerretreat.com Connect with Tania Ho: 🌐 https://musefloweretreat.com/ 🌐 https://taniaho.me/ 🎧 https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/exploring-meditation-styles-with-tania-ho/id1639714009?i=1000631575793 Welcome to the Journey to Purpose Podcast — your guide to personal transformation, spiritual awakening, and finding meaning. You Don't Need Healing: Emotional Independence with an ICU Nurse | Jesseca Banchy

Emotional independence, according to former ICU nurse turned coach Jesseca Banchy, means learning to manage your own anxiety, anger and self-worth internally, instead of handing that job to other people, relationships, or things you own. "Self-improvement is a whole crock of shit. Psychology is a whole crock of shit. It's all about getting to a level of being seen as good enough." — Jesseca Banchy "It's okay to have temper tantrums. We need to have more temper tantrums. We need to scream and cry more often." — Jesseca Banchy Jesseca spent nearly a decade nursing in ICU and critical care, including her current post at a small Tucson hospital that treats both civilians and shackled prison inmates, and she talks candidly about what that work has taught her about compassion, boundaries, and seeing people as more than the worst thing they've done. She and Philippa get into how Jesseca protects her own energy on shift, the near-fatal accident at 19 that got her sober, her belief that everyone has "their own planet," and why she thinks being weird is a form of courage. The conversation closes with Jesseca's other project, Compost Cultura, and why she thinks fixing the planet starts with fixing our relationship to trash. Jesseca Banchy is a semi-retired ICU registered nurse, founder of Magnetic Soul Healing (holistic coaching in emotional independence for women) and Compost Cultura (composting and waste-reduction education), and is currently pursuing a PhD in Metaphysical Science. Act Like You Already Have It: Unwritten Rules of Promotion | Maya Sharfi

The unwritten rules of promotion aren't secret, they're patterns leadership already rewards. Career and executive coach Maya Sharfi says the fastest way to learn them is to stop asking for the steps and start acting like you already have the role. "You don't want to show up in the promotion conversation like Oliver Twist: please, sir, can you please pour into my bowl the steps to get promoted," Sharfi says. "Instead, you want to show up almost as if you already have the role." Sharfi points to a study showing that before around age five, boys and girls are equally drawn to games framed as being for "kids who are smart" and games framed as being for "kids who work hard." After five, girls start gravitating toward the "hard work" games. It's a measurable, early start to a pattern many women spend decades trying to unlearn. In this conversation, Maya and Pippa dig into why so many capable women apologise before they've even made their point, and why "just be more direct" backfires when the advice doesn't account for how women get read differently for the same behaviour. Maya breaks down her "four zones of career alignment" framework for working out what you actually want before you chase the next title, her method for having proactive but collaborative conversations that surface the real, unwritten reasons someone isn't getting promoted, and why reconnecting with someone you haven't spoken to in ten years costs you nothing and isn't the social crime it feels like. They also talk about introversion, psychological safety at work, and the particular flavour of imposter syndrome that shows up once your clients are already getting results. Maya Sharfi is a career and executive coach and the founder of Build Yourself, where she helps ambitious women step into senior leadership roles without burning out. Her background spans landscape architecture, Harvard Business School, and the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and she now works with women navigating promotions, career pivots, and the gap between how they lead and how they're told to lead. She Smelled Burning for Weeks: Past Life Regression and Joan of Arc | Natasha Joy Price

Past life regression uses hypnosis to access memories a practitioner believes come from earlier lives, then works with the emotions attached to them so they stop bleeding into the present one. "I'm an absolute firm believer that what we see in our day-to-day life is not everything at all," says energy therapist Natasha Joy Price. "There is more beyond that, and we just can't see it, we can't sense it." She's not exaggerating about the range of what surfaces. One client kept smelling burning at home for no reason, and driving her partner mad insisting he check the house. A regression session traced it back to a past life as Joan of Arc. "Your energy field is something that's missed off the list in our holistic health," Price says. "Nobody checks in on it. And your energy flows through your physical body — it's just a beautiful piece of organic machinery." In this episode, Natasha talks about the accidental Reiki session after the birth of her third child that cracked open thirty years of parallel practice: a property solicitor by day, energy healer and past life regression therapist by night, the two kept deliberately separate until clients started telling her she was "the calmest solicitor" they'd ever met. She and Pippa get into what past life regression is actually for (clearing stuck emotional patterns, not proving you were Cleopatra), how she keeps sessions safe when they touch on death and trauma, what burnout looks like through an energy lens versus a purely psychological one, and the novel and workbook she's written along the way. Natasha Joy Price is an energy therapist, Reiki master and past life regression practitioner with over 20 years of study across Reiki, Theta Healing, hypnotherapy, and her own Soul Continuum method, alongside a Master's in parapsychology. She runs Dandelion Therapies, hosts the podcast Balm to the Soul, and is the author of Freedom of the Soul and the novel The Red Magus. Drank Through Burnout: Ayahuasca Retreat Costa Rica | Danny Yepez & Sarah Lynn Thomas

Behold Retreats has now guided nearly 2,000 alumni through ceremony across its three locations, and co-CEOs Danny Yepez and Sarah Lynn Thomas talk through what that number represents: a network of people who went through something disorienting together and came out the other side still connected. In this conversation, Danny and Sarah trace how they each arrived at plant medicine from opposite directions — Danny via a decade-long sabbatical after his own experience with depression, Sarah via a corporate finance career that stopped fitting — and how a fireside moment on their third retreat together became the decision to build Behold Retreats. They get into the mechanics of a retreat week, the difference between ayahuasca, psilocybin, bufo and yopo ceremonies, why they think Western science is only now catching up to what southern and eastern traditions already knew, and the question they get asked most: should couples do ayahuasca together, or apart? Danny Yepez and Sarah Lynn Thomas are co-CEOs of Behold Retreats, running plant medicine retreats in Costa Rica, Mexico and Portugal built around ayahuasca, psilocybin and 5-MeO-DMT ceremonies, with a seven-week structure of preparation, ceremony and integration. Ones and Zeros: Can AI Replace Therapy? | Chris Rhyss Edwards

This week I'm talking to Chris Rhyss Edwards. Army combat engineer, author of five books including "Good Reasons to Kill" and "The Woke Paradox", and now a PhD researcher building AI tools for people who won't talk to a stranger but will talk to a machine. Chris went from a bathroom-mirror pep talk from his politician mum ("she doesn't call a spade a spade, she calls it a f*****g shovel") to pitching Rupert Murdoch for millions at News Corp, and he's spent the years since working out why some people can be that direct and most people can't. Now he's building CommonLayer.ai, a safety layer sitting between AI chatbots and the people using them for mental health support, and he brought the receipts: the WHO data on loneliness, the stat on how few people have anyone to call, and the story of the mate who finally asked him about erectile dysfunction because an AI chatbot gave him permission first. We also get into what happens when a squirrel in Central Park convinces an ex-combat soldier he's about to die. In this episode:Growing up in a retirement village and joining the Army at 17The real, unglamorous version of "battlefield to boardroom"Why civilian workplaces reward indecision and veterans find that maddeningThe coming skills gap: AI replacing the junior roles people used to learn onStar Trek, human-in-the-loop AI, and the three questions everyone actually asks a chatbotHis mate who fell in love with an AI avatar, and where Chris draws the lineOne therapist for every 6,000 people, and why 80% of us don't need one anywayThe WHO's loneliness data and what it means for the next decadeThe Central Park squirrel that triggered a full panic attackWhy the friend who asked about erectile dysfunction might be the whole point Connect with Chris Rhyss Edwards: 🌐 https://www.chrisrhyss.co/ 💼 https://www.linkedin.com/in/chrisrhyss/ 🏢 https://www.commonlayer.ai/ Journey to Purpose is a personal transformation podcast featuring real conversations about mindset, trauma recovery, self-worth, spiritual awakening, resilience, and finding your life’s purpose. Stop Reacting, Start Connecting: The Communication Formula That Changes Everything | Dee Dee Fisher

In this episode of Journey to Purpose, Pippa is joined by Dee Dee Fisher — communications expert, founder of Discover Response, and one of those rare people who has spent 30 years building a career around the one thing most of us get completely wrong. Dee Dee grew up in rural Idaho, pivoted from psychology when her advisor told her she'd never be a therapist (too direct, too fast — his words), and ended up teaching Fortune 500 executives in Phoenix how to actually communicate. She created a nutraceutical product, pitched it to Oprah, got featured in a Darden Business School entrepreneurship book, and eventually built her own practice around a deceptively simple framework: Compassion, Process, Learning. She also got Scrum certified — and realised she'd been running Scrum communications intuitively for years. This is a warm, funny, and quietly profound conversation. The kind that makes you rethink how you talk to your boss, your partner, your kids — and yourself. Pippa and Dee Dee explore: Leaving Idaho with a communications degree and no clear plan — and why that turned out to be exactly rightWhy Dee Dee's professor told her she couldn't be a therapist — and the advisor who changed her career in one conversationThe little old lady in the car: why we always make up the worst thing first, and how to train yourself out of itCompassion, Process, Learning — the three-part framework that underpins every difficult conversationWhy asking "why?" is the single most powerful communication tool most people never useGetting Scrum certified and realising she'd been running agile communications without a formula all alongThe 14-year-old girl who worked out mid-lecture that she could never be bullied again — and what that moment looked likeBetrayal, narcissism and gaslighting: why the second foul is always the one that gets calledSocial emotional learning in California schools — and what happens when we teach children to ask questions instead of just follow instructionsNo intense conversations after 9:30 — and other household rules that actually workWhy driving kids somewhere is still the best communication tool a parent has A conversation about the one skill that underpins everything — and why "just communicate better" is useless advice without a process to back it up. Stop Leaking Your Power: How Women Can Reclaim Their Influence at Work | Kisha Wynter

In this episode of Journey to Purpose, Pippa is joined by Kisha Wynter — leadership consultant, executive coach, power strategist, and author of Your Power Unleashed — for a frank and genuinely galvanising conversation about what it actually takes to advance in corporate life. Kisha spent over 20 years inside Fortune 50 companies including Citibank and General Electric, rising through HR into senior leadership before launching her own consulting firm. Her work is built on a deceptively simple but radical premise: that women don't need more confidence — they need their power back. And the way to get it is through understanding how power actually works. This is a conversation that's equal parts practical strategy and genuine revelation. Because the tools Kisha teaches — power leaks, power literacy, the DIVA method — aren't soft. They're the things nobody teaches you in business school, but that quietly determine whether you get the promotion, the recognition, or the room. Pippa and Kisha explore: The one-week notice that ended Kisha's Citibank chapter — and the HR woman who changed the direction of her careerFreezing in a C-suite interview, asking for a glass of water, and still getting the jobWhy fight-or-flight in high-stakes moments isn't a confidence problem — it's a values misalignmentPower leaks: the things that drain your agency and silently limit your influence at workPower literacy: why reading the org chart is not the same as reading the power chartThe DIVA method — Deliver, Image, Visibility, Advisory Board — and why performance alone will never be enoughWhy "political" is the word people use when they haven't learned to do it with integrityWhat it means to be the best-kept secret at work — and why it's costing youStakeholder mapping as a career strategy: who actually holds the power, and how to build the bridge to reach themThe cross-cultural blind spots that hold global organisations backWhy you either win or you learn — and there is no third option A conversation about owning your power — not because someone gave you permission, but because you stopped waiting for it.
