The Home That Laughed: Build a Home Filled with Laughter, Love, and Joy in the Lord

What will your kids remember about growing up in your home? The routines? The business? Or will they remember a home filled with laughter, connection, belonging, and genuine joy? In this episode of The Project Revival Podcast, Laura is joined by her husband, Chase, for a different kind of conversation about The Home They Remember. As parents, it’s easy for everyday life to become a cycle of getting everyone dressed, finishing homework, cleaning the house, making dinner, correcting behavior, and getting ready to do it all again tomorrow. Somewhere along the way, the playfulness that came so naturally when our children were little can begin to disappear.  Laura and Chase talk candidly about trying to build a home where their children don’t simply know, “My parents love me,” but also know, “My parents enjoy being with me.”  From ridiculous forts and bedroom swings to kitchen dance parties, family inside jokes, road-trip “banana” moments, dad jokes, and the ordinary chaos of raising kids, this episode explores why some of the smallest moments may become the memories our children carry with them for life.  But laughter is about more than having fun. Laura and Chase also discuss why teasing can become deeply hurtful, how humor can sometimes diffuse tension, and why knowing our children’s individual personalities matters when we’re trying to teach and correct them.  Most importantly, they explore what joy communicates about our faith. “A joyful heart is good medicine.” — Proverbs 17:22 Following Jesus isn’t meant to steal the joy from our homes. He is the source of it. And if more is caught than taught, one of the most powerful things we can give our children may be the example of parents who genuinely find joy in God, in one another, and in the family He has given them.  So here’s the challenge for this week: find two or three intentional opportunities to make your kids laugh. Tell jokes. Play a ridiculous game. Turn on some music then dance and be silly together. Create the kind of ordinary moments they may one day look back on and realize weren’t ordinary at all.  Subscribe to The Project Revival Podcast for honest conversations about faith, marriage, parenting, family, and building a Christ-centered home in the middle of real life. One Day They’ll Leave Home—What Will They Take With Them?

One day, your kids will leave home. The question is: what will they take with them? As parents, it’s easy to wonder, “Am I doing enough?” But maybe there’s a better question: What will my children remember when they leave my home? In this episode of The Project Revival Podcast, Emily and Laura begin a new series, The Home They Remember, exploring how the ordinary, everyday moments of family life are shaping our children more than we may realize. Our homes aren’t simply the places where our children grow up—they’re where foundations are being built, character is being formed, and faith is being modeled. PRP - EP 38 - The Home They Remember (transcript).txt From the early years of simply trying to survive the day to the seasons when our children begin making decisions for themselves, Christian parenting requires more than good intentions. Emily and Laura discuss why parents need to be proactive about the kind of home they want to build—and why those decisions have to happen before we find ourselves caught in the middle of the everyday battles of parenting.   They also talk candidly about the reality that no family does this perfectly. Every home looks different. Every season brings different challenges. But whether you work outside the home, stay home with your children, work while parenting, or find yourself somewhere in between, the goal is intentionality: deciding what matters to your family, aligning those priorities with Scripture, and continually pointing your children back to God. PRP - EP 38 - The Home They Remember (transcript).txt In this conversation, Emily and Laura explore: * What actually creates “the home they remember” * How our own childhood experiences influence the homes we build * Why everyday moments often teach our children more than formal lessons * The difference between simply managing behavior and shaping character * Why Christian parents need to be proactive rather than reactive * How to establish biblical priorities and goals for your family * Why consistency and unity between parents matter * How to model faith when real life is busy, messy, and imperfect * Why ultimately our children must choose faith in Christ for themselves You don’t have to create a perfect childhood or a picture-perfect Christian home. But you do have an opportunity, right now, to intentionally build a foundation your children can carry with them long after they leave. What do you hope your children will remember most about growing up in your home? Share your answer in the comments—we’d love to hear from you. Christianity Is More Than Rules: Teaching Kids to Follow Jesus from the Heart

Is Christianity just about following rules… or is it about knowing Jesus? In this episode of The Project Revival Podcast, Emily and Laura explore one of the biggest misconceptions about the Christian faith: that being a Christian simply means following a list of rules. Scripture paints a much different picture. Using Deuteronomy 6, they discuss how biblical parenting isn’t about raising well-behaved children—it’s about raising sons and daughters whose hearts genuinely love the Lord. Real faith begins with a relationship with Jesus and is lived out in everyday moments at home. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, mentor, or simply someone seeking a deeper walk with Christ, this conversation will encourage you to move beyond outward behavior and toward authentic discipleship. In this episode, you’ll discover:  • Why Christianity is more than rules and religion  • How Deuteronomy 6 changes the way we think about parenting  • The difference between behavior modification and heart transformation  • Practical ways to disciple your children in everyday life  • How authentic faith is modeled before it is taught  • Why your relationship with Christ is the greatest legacy you can leave Key Scriptures Deuteronomy 6 Matthew 22:37–39 James 1:22 Proverbs 22:6 If this conversation encouraged you, we’d love for you to Like, Subscribe, and Share this episode with someone who is raising the next generation. They Catch More Than They’re Taught (Every Christian Parent Needs to Hear This)

Why are so many young people walking away from Christianity? Is it because they weren’t taught enough… or because they didn’t see authentic faith lived out at home? In this episode of The Project Revival Podcast, sisters Emily and Laura have an honest conversation about why authentic Christianity matters more than the appearance of perfection. They explore how our children—and the people around us—learn far more from what we live than from what we say. Drawing from Scripture and their own experiences as moms, they discuss why genuine faith, humility, repentance, and everyday obedience leave a lasting spiritual legacy that can shape generations. If you’ve ever wondered how to raise children who love Jesus in today’s culture, or how your own walk with Christ influences those around you, this conversation is for you. In this episode you’ll discover: • Why kids often “catch” more than they’re taught • The difference between authentic faith and performative Christianity • How parents can model repentance and grace at home • Why perfection isn’t the goal—faithfulness is • Practical ways to build a Christ-centered legacy every day • What Scripture teaches about passing faith to the next generation Key Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6 James 1:22 2 Timothy 1:5 Psalm 78:4 Joshua 24:15 Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, youth leader, mentor, or simply desire to live out your faith more authentically, we pray this conversation encourages you to become a doer of the Word—not just a hearer. Christian Identity & Calling: “As For Me and My House” | Be Doers of the Word

In this episode of the Project Revival Podcast, sisters Emily and Laura share highlights from a recent women’s retreat at Fall Creek Christian Church in. The retreat theme was based on Joshua 24:15 — “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” During the event, they walked through three powerful themes that shape a Christ-centered life: • Identity – Who we are in Christ • Calling – How God leads us through different seasons of life • Legacy – What our faith leaves behind in our families and communities In this episode, Emily and Laura focus on identity and calling, discussing how our lives change when we build our foundation on Christ instead of circumstances, careers, or cultural expectations. They also share personal testimony, including how God sometimes changes our path without changing our purpose. This conversation is an encouraging reminder that surrendering to God is not just emotional — it’s practical and lived out in the everyday choices we make. In This Episode • Why Joshua 24:15 begins with “As for me” before “my house” • The difference between God’s intention and our reality • Why your identity must be rooted in Christ first • How to respond when your calling suddenly changes • Encouragement for women navigating health struggles, family life, and changing seasons • What it means to be a doer of the Word, not just a hearer (James 1:22) • Why comparison can distract us from God’s purpose for our lives Key Bible Verses Discussed Joshua 24:15 James 1:22 Genesis 1:27 Proverbs 14:1 Psalm 127:1 Ecclesiastes 3 A Reminder From This Episode Your calling isn’t defined by your job title, your productivity, or your circumstances. Your calling begins with reflecting the image of Christ in whatever season of life you’re in. Christian Parenting: How to Be a Doer of the Word at Home (Deuteronomy 6)

Welcome back to the Project Revival Podcast with sisters Emily and Laura. This is Part 2 of our conversation on surrender and selflessness—and today we get extremely practical: what does it look like to live out your faith at home, where it’s often hardest? It’s easy to look patient, loving, and “put together” in public (sometimes). But at home, our guard drops. Our patience gets thin. Our reactions get quick. And the truth is, the people we love most often see us at our worst. In this episode, we talk about how real discipleship doesn’t start on a stage—it starts in the everyday moments: how we respond under stresshow we disciplinehow we apologize and repenthow we speak about others when our kids are listeninghow we create a home that feels calm, safe, and Christ-centeredOur theme verse is Deuteronomy 6:6–7, reminding us that God’s Word should be taught consistently—when we sit at home, when we walk along the way, when we lie down, and when we rise. We also unpack: - Why “public patience” doesn’t automatically translate to “home patience” - How to shift from control to Christlike influence - Why discipline should be purposeful, not emotional - The power of explaining the why behind obedience and respect - Why kids need to see the gospel modeled through repentance, forgiveness, and self-control - Creating a home where Scripture is lived out through prayer in conflict, gratitude over grumbling, and speaking truth over fear - Encouragement for parents navigating real challenges like ADHD and autism - Why failure doesn’t disqualify you: God’s grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9) Key Scriptures Mentioned Deuteronomy 6:6–7Ephesians 6:4James 1:22Colossians 3:132 Corinthians 12:9 Takeaway Your kids don’t just need Bible knowledge. They need to see the gospel lived out—through how you love, how you correct, how you repent, and how you rely on Jesus when you get it wrong. Beyond Ourselves: Living Selflessly as Christians

Welcome back to the Project Revival Podcast with sisters Emily and Laura. In today’s episode, “Beyond Ourselves: Living Selflessly as Christians,” we tackle a hard but necessary conversation: how self-absorption quietly shapes our relationships, our faith, and even the way we read Scripture—and what it looks like to truly deny ourselves and follow Jesus daily. So many of us hear God’s Word, agree with it, highlight it… but still live with ourselves at the center. In this episode, we unpack how selfishness isn’t always obvious—it can show up as walls, defensiveness, unforgiveness, self-protection, comfort-seeking, “guarding my peace,” and even using the Bible to validate our choices instead of letting it transform us. We dig into key passages: James 1:22 — Be doers of the word, not hearers only…Philippians 2:3–5 — Count others more significant than yourselves…Luke 9:23 — Deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow Me…Proverbs 3:5–6 — Trust in the Lord… do not lean on your own understanding…This is a call back to real Christianity: not performance, not “I’m a good person,” not comfort-first faith—but surrender, obedience, humility, and becoming more like Christ. If you’ve been wrestling with hurt, boundaries, isolation, bitterness, offense, or the pressure of a culture that constantly says “what about me?”—this episode will challenge you and encourage you with truth. Question for the comments: What’s one area where God may be calling you to lay down self and choose obedience—even when it costs comfort?
