The World / The Universe with Jason Cosmos

In episode 22 of TABI's Tarot World, our  podcast's namesake, your hosts Victoria and Gwen talk to Jason Cosmos about the twenty-second Trump, The World or The Universe. Old god Saturn is front and centre as the planetary ruler of the card — in the Hebrew letter Tav associated with The World's path on the Tree of Life, and also as the boundary maker inextricably married to the birth and new beginnings of the Great Mother. We talk octopus dreams, otherworldly visions, and clear-eyed intuition, then get down to earth with practical readings: How can we interpret this vastly spiritual card in the context of a practical question? We look at the Tree of Life and what patterns emerge when we plot The World to its path (hint: it connects to Malkuth, Earth), and Jason leads us on a journey with the World dancer through other cards that reflect her role, highlighting their connections to The World itself. Reversals, scents, crystals, and music round us out, with a discussion of our beautiful, confusing, ever-changing (slightly mad) world.  You can find Jason on Instagram as @jasonccosmos, on Facebook as @jasondcosmos, and on his website www.octopusofdreams.com  Now that we've concluded our first series, Victoria and Gwen would like to thank all of our amazing guests for joining us for TABI's first podcast series. You made our dream come to life! We appreciate your time and have learned so much from your intuition, experience, and expertise.  So what happens now that TABI's Tarot World has reached The World? Seneca said every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end, so tune in next month to find out what comes next!  Want to find out more about TABI? Judgement/The Aeon with Jan Tetteroo

Welcome to the new world! We are getting there, at least ... and for episode 21 of TABI's Tarot World, Jan Tetteroo — Druid, Spiritual Coach, and Tarot reader — joins your hosts Victoria and Gwen to look at how it's happening. We start with the Zombie apocalypse and look at how we get from there to what comes after ... because Crowley wasn't about the ending, or even the levelling-up, but an immediate new beginning, and one we're responsible for. Jan places The Aeon in the context of the progression of the Thoth Tarot, and he explains how  Crowley's vision for the future of humanity all comes together in its imagery. We talk Thelema, the Book of the Law, Divine Will, and we look in detail at the powerful, beautiful illustration of the card, from the lapis lazuli sky goddess Nuit to double-aspected Horus and winged Hadit at the centre of it all. We discuss reversals and ill-dignified placements, how we can The Aeon in a practical reading, and then move on to herbs, plants, scents, and crystals associated with the card. If you've ever wondered what's going on with the Thoth Tarot, Jan has your answer, and it's all here in this podcast! You can find Jan on Instagram as @jantetteroo, on Facebook as Jan Tetteroo, on YouTube as Luna and the Druid, and his website is www.jantetteroo.com. The Sun with Jen Sankey

After the cool darkness of The Moon,  The Sun shines bright and warm. We step out of the shadows and into the light ... which can be blinding. Not everyone likes the heat; we don't all wants a turn in the spotlight, and Jen Sankey, practising witch, author, deck creator, and crystal healer, joins Victoria and Gwen for episode 20 of TABI's Tarot World podcast to explore how The Sun's light can affect us each so differently. Jen explains how the way she represents The Sun in her decks reflects her understanding of the card, and we get a behind-the-scenes look at deck creation, including a discussion of AI in the tarot community and further afield. We discuss reversals and coming full circle, and how the Sun can be healing only if we know what needs to be healed, and if we're brave enough to face the change that's necessary. Crystals, flowers, herbs, and flower essences round us off.  For this episode, we have compiled a Spotify Sun playlist! The Moon with Kenn Payne

When we enter The Moon's lunar landscape of mists and shadows, it can be frightening. It's a whole Other world, and we're maybe not sure how to go forward. Kenn Payne, deck creator and Hekatean devotee, joins Victoria and Gwen for episode 19 of TABI's Tarot World podcast to help us find our footing. We discuss how The Moon asks us to look directly at illusion, persona, and hidden truths, and distinguish them from what is real, what we need to confront and address. What is your true face? And which is your reflection? Kenn points out that in popular culture, we often see Death or The Tower presented as cards to fear, but The Moon with its dreamlike un-logic and roots in our deepest, darkest selves, is maybe a more logical choice to be wary of. But does that mean we should "stick to the roads and keep off the moors"? *cue howling* Not at all. There is a vulnerability on this path, and there are no guarantees because who knows what's coming up out of the water, but there's hope and guidance, and the opportunity to look deeply and honestly at ourselves, our true selves, and resolve those fears as they appear in the moonlight. It's the only way to grow. Kenn discusses how in a reading The Moon directs us to take action and we talk about the moon's connection to Hekate, a cthonic goddess who watches as we cross between worlds — just like Mercury, whose influence we see in the Thoth interpretation — and Kenn and Victoria talk Divine devotion: what is it, and how we can express it. We look at The Moon in several decks, comparing the faces — phases? — in each of them. And we bring in crystals, plants and herbs, flowers and fragrances, and trees to bring everything back into the world we're a little more familiar with.  You can find Kenn on Instagram as @thehekateanwino He is the creator of 'Oracle of the Hekatean Path' and the forthcoming 'Tarot of the Hekatean Path'. You can also find Kenn on his YouTube channel, Ádyton of the Hekatean Path. Want to find out more about TABI? Visit our website at www.tabi.org.uk Membership is international and only £20 per year. The Star with Jennifer Garner

In episode 18 of TABI's Tarot World, Victoria and Gwen are joined by Jennifer Garner — TABI mentor, Free Reader, and former TABI Chair — to talk about The stunning Star. We start off with a bit of fangirling about TABI and our wealth of Zooms, our training courses, and the Members' Conference — all unique to TABI and free for members. It's a fantastic way to join and keep in touch with your Tarot community no matter where in the world you live, and enjoy the friendship and guidance that comes with truly finding your place. In any Tarot community, you'll find that The Star holds a special place in everyone's heart. Every man and every woman is a star, after all, made up of stardust as we are, so what happens when we draw The Star? What is she showing us? Or bringing us? We look at very different interpretations of the card in several decks, and explore the vast range blessings that she brings — balance and harmony, channelling and manifestation, freedom and generosity, just for starters. You might think it'll be smooth sailing when she appears in a reading, but for such an Airy Aquarian energy, she can be hard to pin down in practical terms... and what happens when drawn in reverse? Jenny and Victoria discuss various options, and Jenny shares her 'invisible neighbours' approach, which gives insight into The Star and any card. We also discuss stones, crystals, runes, fragrances, music, and for plants, Victoria tells us about the lemon-scented, night-blooming Datura — N.B. a *poisonous* plant, so the usual rules apply, and be sure to study it carefully before approaching.  You can find Jenny on her website https://guineverefae.com/, on Instagram and Facebook as @guineverefae, and on Bluesky as @guineverefae.com. She is the author of Jenny's Tarot Journal, available from Amazon.  Want to find out more about TABI? Visit our website at www.tabi.org.uk Membership is international and only £20 per year. The Tower with Heather McCabe Jones and Clair Telford

When are you happy to see The Tower? If you're ready to hold your feet to the fire, then join Victoria and Gwen in welcoming guests Clair and Heather to episode 17 of TABI's Tarot World podcast, where we discuss what might be the most visually, viscerally destructive card in the Tarot. It's ruled by Mars after all, and most versions depict a tower being destroyed -- the walls come tumbling down -- so where do those walls come from in the first place? Are they built up around us by others? Or do we create them as we go along in life, only to discover that we've hemmed ourselves in? One thing is for sure: Tower magick is powerful and it is not picky, so if your plan is to slash and burn, be prepared to release everything and run when the flames take. And yet ... there is hope. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end, and regeneration is the reason for fire season. We share our interpretations of the Marseille, RWS, and Thoth Tarot Tower cards; our personal experiences with it; and Heather offers us a meditation to use with the card that works with both the interior and exterior -- the world around us, and the ego that we've put through the wringer in the last few cards. Here, finally, we see what needs to give. We look at the position of The Tower on the Tree of Life and what that tells us about our life path (surprise! It's about balance), and we consider the Hebrew letters Yod, Shin, and Pei -- that fiery speech that can get us all in so much trouble. We wrap up with reversals, crystals, plants, and fragrances. So tell us in the comments ... when are you happy to see The Tower? The Devil with Leeza Robertson

What are we all doing down here anyway? Are we here to indulge our senses with wine and song and sexy woodland creatures? Or are we meant to suffer? It might surprise you to hear our guest for episode 16, author, deck creator, and closeted astrologer Leeza Robertson, explain why she thinks The Devil is the most spiritual card in the deck, and how it offers us a uniquely powerful path to joy and liberation. Leeza describes how she illustrates The Devil in four of her decks, each one highlighting a different aspect for us to consider. We chat about Pan and the edges of madness; accepting our physical self as divine; and the narrow line we walk as we navigate our way through society and our mind. We talk addiction and attachment, The Lovers and relationships, and discover that maybe the truly tricky thing is that The Devil doesn't curate our lives — which offers us a freedom that we have to learn how to deal with. The Hebrew letter Ayin gives us some new insights, and we take a deep dive into the Shadow, the ego, and duality of the 'I'. Leeza is the author of Tarot Reversals for Beginners and she gives us some brilliant new tips on how we can read the cards that come out upside-down, explaining why reversals add so much to a reading. We look at stones and crystals, herbs, plants, and scents, and Leeza tells us about her new deck, The Celestial Unicorn Tarot, launching in the US on July 1st and in the UK on August 8th: https://tinyurl.com/3pdhcnmh You can find Leeza on: Her Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@LeezaRobertson/streams Her website: https://www.leezarobertson.com/ Her instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theleezarobertson/ And be sure to check out her Llewellyn author Page, where you can find out about all her books and decks: https://www.llewellyn.com/author.php?author_id=5663 Want to find out more about TABI? Temperance/Art with Mick Frankel

In episode 15 of TABI's Tarot World, Astrologer, Hebrew scholar, and I Ching practitioner Mick Frankel joins Victoria and Gwen to talk about the alchemical wonder that is Temperance/Art. The Marseille, RWS, and Thoth interpretations all show some kind of exchange, but what's really going on here? And what does it mean in readings, whether practical or spiritual? Mick talks us through all the ingredients: the card's Hebrew letter Samech and how we can work with the Hebrew alphabet and Tarot more generally; the magic of the Divine archer, Sagittarius, and how he lights a Fire under our transformation; the mystery of numbers; and how the I Ching brings in new insights, working via a new system that Mick talks us through. We look at illustrations of Temperance in the Marseille, the RWS, the Thoth, and the InBetween Tarot, and explore the relationship the card might have with her neighbours, starting with Justice, Death, and The Fool. Once we've given all that a good stir, we talk reversals, and then finally put everything together with a look at stones, herbs and flowers, and fragrances. What is the final result of our alchemical journey? You tell us! Mick is the creator of the 'Deck of the Hebrew Letters' and its accompanying workbook.
