    S3 EP05: Finding Your True Identity Part 1

    What does it really mean to know who you are? In a world that constantly tells us who we should be, how we should act, and what we need to do to become worthy, finding our true identity can be a difficult journey. In this episode of Firebrand, we sit down with featured guest Keyana Webb for an honest and vulnerable conversation about identity, people-pleasing, insecurity, and discovering who God says we are. Looking at Psalm 139:13–18, we explore the truth that our identity isn't something we have to earn or create—it is rooted in the One who created us. We talk about what happens when we allow other people’s opinions, expectations, labels, and approval to define us, and how that can lead to wearing different “masks,” living for acceptance, and constantly feeling like we have to prove ourselves. Keyana shares part of her own journey as a recovering people pleaser and how God has been teaching her to find her identity in what He says about her rather than how others respond to her. We also discuss why knowing our identity matters—not only for how we see ourselves, but for how we live, connect with others, and fulfill what God has called us to do. When we don't know who we are, we can struggle with stress, insecurity, comparison, and unhealthy relationships. But when we begin to understand who God created us to be, we can walk with greater confidence, authenticity, peace, and purpose. Ultimately, our identity isn't determined by what we do, what others think of us, or what we accomplish. It begins with believing what God has already said about us.     S3 EP04: Faith in Today’s World

    What does it really look like to follow Jesus in a world that constantly pulls us in the opposite direction? With social media, culture, trends, comparison, temptation, and the pressure to fit in, standing firm in our faith can feel challenging. We have an honest conversation about what it means to live for God while navigating a culture that often normalizes things that go against His Word. Looking at Romans 12:2, we explore what it means to not be conformed to the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We talk about the daily decision to deny ourselves, crucify our flesh, keep our eyes on Jesus, and remain confident in what we know to be true—even when the people and culture around us are saying something different. We also discuss practical ways to protect our faith, including setting boundaries, recognizing conviction, being mindful of what we watch and listen to, spending consistent time in Scripture and prayer, and refusing to entertain things that can pull us away from God. Ultimately, following Jesus in today’s world requires intentionality. We may live in this world, but we don't have to become like it. By keeping our minds renewed and our eyes fixed on Jesus, we can stand firm in our faith and continue becoming more like Him.     S3 EP03: When Faith Feels Quiet

    What do we do when God feels distant? There are seasons when prayer feels empty, worship doesn’t hit the same, and spending time with God feels more like a routine than a relationship. We sit down for an honest conversation about spiritual dryness and what it means when our feelings don’t line up with what we know to be true about God. Looking at Psalm 42, we explore the tension between feeling discouraged and choosing to put our hope in God. We talk about trusting God when He feels quiet, choosing faith over feelings, and remembering that our emotions are not a measurement of God’s presence. Ultimately, staying grounded in dry seasons means continuing to show up, being honest with God, staying connected to godly community, and reminding ourselves of the truth found in His Word.     How well do we really know God? Our experiences, disappointments, church hurt, and the actions of others can shape the way we see Him—sometimes giving us a distorted view of who He really is. Looking at Luke 15, we explore the lost sheep, lost coin, and prodigal son, and what these stories reveal about a God who pursues, loves, forgives, and welcomes us home. We talk about trusting God even when life is difficult, separating His character from the failures of people, and being honest about where we are in our faith. Ultimately, knowing God means more than knowing about Him. Through Scripture, prayer, community, and keeping our eyes on Jesus, we can learn to know Him for ourselves and discover the fullness of who He is.
