Popcorn Therapy with Julie Peters

Julie Peters

Join Julie Peters, therapist, Tarot reader, and writer for a dip--sometimes shallow, sometimes deep--into the mythologies, archetypes, meanings, systems, and implications of the stories we love in movies, TV, music, books, and current events. The stories and characters we love can help us understand ourselves better especially when we're able to think about them with a little bit of a wider lens. We'll do blockbusters, old movies, bingeable TV shows from now and then, and whatever else we feel like doing. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Persephone's Call to the Underworld: Mythology with Maiden, Warrior, Mother, Crone

In this special episode of Popcorn Therapy, Julie reads a story from her new book Maiden, Warrior, Mother, Crone. This is a reimagining of Persephone's story based in myth and history that brings forth her agency and queenliness. Edited from live, you'll also hear discussion and questions from the participants listening all about the story and the book and Julie's experience writing this book. Maiden, Warrior, Mother, Crone, published by Verbena Books, is filled with stories about the divine feminine from all over the world. Goddesses and figures from folklore teach us about the archetypes of Maiden, Warrior, Mother, and Crone. Pick it up wherever you get books, and stay tuned for more storytime in the future. With thanks to Ruthanne, Stephen, Mary, Mindy, and Kitty, who generously gave me permission to use their comments and questions in this recording. This story is also inspired by a version by Natalie Rousseau, who you can hear on several episodes of Popcorn Therapy. See the book Lost Goddesses of Ancient Greece by Charlene Spretnak for more. Tip me: any amount is appreciated, but if you tip $50 or more, I'll send you a personalized Tarot recording just for you! https://www.juliepeters.ca/tipmeSubscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfmUgy14NuVplu7G5_yZb7A?sub_confirmation=1See more and book counseling or Tarot at https://www.juliepeters.ca/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/juliepeterswellness/Facebook: https://www.instagram.com/juliepeterswellness/Subscribe to my monthly newsletter: https://www.juliepeters.ca/subscribe Hosted on Acast.
