    39. What I Wish I’d Known Before Losing My Mom

What did you think of this episode? In this episode, Jessica shares the story of losing her mom after a lung cancer diagnosis in 2013. She reflects on the early days after the diagnosis, the way fear showed up as a need for control, and the quiet grief that began long before her mom was gone. Jessica talks honestly about caregiving, anticipatory grief, and what it’s like to lose the person you talked to every single day. This episode isn’t about doing grief “right.” It’s about what it looks like to love someone the best you can when you don’t yet know what you’ll wish you had done differently. If you’ve lost a parent, are caring for someone who’s sick, or are carrying regret alongside grief, this conversation is for you. 38. My Story of Loss

What did you think of this episode? In this episode of Resilient with Jessica Boarman, I begin sharing my grief story; not all at once, and not in full detail, but by slowly introducing the losses that have shaped my life over time. Loss didn’t arrive for me in a single moment. It came in chapters. From my first experience with death as a teenager, to losing my granddad, to the devastating loss of my youngest brother Justin to suicide, and later walking through the illnesses and deaths of both of my parents.  This episode is an overview and the start of a series. I don’t dive deeply into each loss just yet, but instead create space to name them, honor them, and reflect on how grief accumulates and changes us over time. If you’ve ever felt confused by your grief, unsure how to carry it while the world keeps moving, or hesitant to share your story because parts of it feel sacred or tender—this episode is for you. My hope is simple: that you feel less alone as you listen. ➡️ Download your free grief bible study here: Held Through the Hurt Thank you for tuning in to the Resilient Podcast! 37. When Your World Has Shifted

What did you think of this episode? In this opening episode, Jessica returns after an unexpected pause to  acknowledge a truth many of us know too well: sometimes life shifts, and nothing feels the same afterward. This episode is for the listener whose world feels different than it used to after loss, grief, diagnosis, change, or an ending they didn’t see coming. When the world keeps moving but your life feels knocked off its axis, it can be disorienting, lonely, and hard to put into words. Through personal reflection, Scripture, and honest conversation, Jessica names what it’s like to live in the “after” when you’re learning how to exist in a life that no longer looks or feels familiar. This isn’t an episode about fixing grief or finding quick answers. It’s an invitation to pause, breathe, and remember you don’t have to figure out this season alone. ➡️ Download your free grief bible study here: Held Through the Hurt Thank you for tuning in to the Resilient Podcast! 34. Simplify to Learn: What the Feynman Technique Can Teach Us About True Understanding

What did you think of this episode? Have you ever caught yourself nodding along in a conversation, secretly hoping no one asks you to explain what was just said? Same.  In this episode of Resilient with Jessica Boarman, we’re talking about one of the most practical and eye-opening tools I’ve come across for learning anything with more clarity and confidence: the Feynman Technique. Named after Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman, this method isn’t about sounding smart—it’s about truly understanding something in a way that sticks. And you know I’m all about things that help us slow down, think deeper, and live more intentionally. Together, we’ll walk through the four steps of this powerful technique and explore how it can be used not just to learn new concepts—but to make sense of Scripture, process your story, and grow in self-awareness. If you're looking to stop memorizing and start understanding—this one’s for you. Take my free quiz: https:/jessicaboarman.com/quiz Thank you for tuning in to the Resilient Podcast!
