The art of making roguelikes with Red Mountain Games.

We have back-to-back interviews to end off October! This week we're joined by JC the CEO and creative director, over in Spain at Red Mountain Games. Their next title AlcheMice is just around the corner, launching on Steam and Switch in 2027. We learn about the design philosophies of the game, what goes into creating a roguelike, and what goes into testing and presenting your game to new players. Huge thank you once again to Red Mountain for giving us the time of day and opportunity to collab on this. We're small and growing still, trying to find our way through the algorithms to grow our own community, but that doesn't mean we can't support cool games we believe in. Games are art, and we mention that all the time here. Here at The Download Queue we're trying to create a place for YOU to celebrate your passion for games and the people who make them, no matter how you choose to experience them. Join us each and every week as we break down the latest in gaming news, reviews, updates on what we're playing, and so much more. If you like what we're doing here, please support the show by dropping us a like, commenting, sharing the show around, or any other way of interaction. It helps us out in the end, and we can only continue to keep doing cool new things with YOUR help.

Making games you believe in with Blaze Żywiczyński!

This week we are so incredibly proud and excited to announce our first developer interview to the show! Blaze Żywiczyński has worked on games such as "Ori and the Will of the Wisps," "Frostpunk," and "This War of Mine." Nowadays he has his own studio called Fariy Mount Games working on Flame, Forest and Flood due to release in early access on November 19th on Steam and Epic Game Store. On top of learning more about the game straight from the team themself, we go inside baseball on indies in general. What does it take to get noticed? How to go about funding and be stable on your own? The steps to grow your own team and more! Huge thank you once again to the entire team at Fairy Mount for giving us the time of day and opportunity to collab on this.
