    October is getting spooky on Waking Up with Flem. 👻 This month, Ryan and Marlee are diving into real ghost stories, local legends, and creepy tales with actual history behind them. We’re starting with one of Georgia’s most famous legends: The Lady of Lake Lanier. In 1958, two women disappeared near Lake Lanier. A body was found the following year, but the mystery wouldn’t fully unravel for more than three decades. Somewhere along the way, stories began spreading about a mysterious woman in blue appearing near the lake—and the legend of the Lady of Lake Lanier was born. In this episode, we break down what actually happened, where the legend came from, and the stories people still tell today. The disappearance was real. The mystery was real. The ghost?     Things That Aren’t Worth the Money Anymore 💸

    Ryan and Marlee headed out with Melody and Tim to cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs 🏈, while Maizee and Declan got the better end of the deal—spending Friday AND Saturday night with Mimi and Tom, where they were, of course, completely spoiled. 😂 Then Sunday it was back to the sidelines for Maizee’s soccer game. ⚽ Then we ask a question that seems to come up more and more lately: When did EVERYTHING get so expensive?! We’re talking about the things that just don’t feel worth the money anymore—fast food, movie theaters, concerts, vacations, streaming services, convenience fees, and all the other stuff that makes you look at the total and think, “Yeah… never mind.” 😂 Are these things actually getting ridiculous, or are we just officially at the age where we complain about how much everything costs?     How Do People NOT Know These Rules?! Season 3 Premiere

    This week on Waking Up with Flem, we’re coming off another packed weekend of practices, games, road trips, and family fun! We recap the week of soccer and baseball practices, Saturday’s soccer game, Ryan and Declan’s trip to the Falcons game, and Marlee and Maizee heading to another soccer game on Sunday. And because apparently we weren’t busy enough already, we also squeezed in a trip to the County Fair. 😂 Then we get into this week’s topic: Unwritten Rules Everyone Should Know. You know the rules nobody actually wrote down… but somehow EVERYONE should know them. We’re talking grocery carts, elevators, neighborhood behavior, restaurants, group chats, and yes… even the proper etiquette when choosing a urinal. 😂 Why do some people seem to understand these rules automatically while others act like they’ve never lived around other humans?     Oh No… We’re Becoming Our Parents! | Season 2 Finale

    This week on Waking Up with Flem, we’re recapping a full family weekend that included soccer, road trips, Buc-ee’s, and one kid who found a way to skip the whole thing. 😂 Sunday meant another soccer game, and this one was 2½ hours away. Declan decided that sounded like a little too much soccer for one day, so he got to spend the day with Marlee’s friend Lauren instead — which he probably considered a pretty solid win. Of course, you can’t make a road trip without a Buc-ee’s stop, and somehow Declan still managed to benefit from the trip because he ended up with his newest piece of wardrobe greatness: a Buc-ee costume. Because apparently every kid needs the option to dress like a giant beaver. 😂 Then we get into this week’s big topic: Are We Becoming Our Parents?! We’re talking about all those things we swore we’d NEVER do — and now somehow we’re doing every single one of them. Yelling about lights being left on, fighting over the thermostat, saying things like “because I said so,” falling asleep on the couch, and suddenly understanding why our parents complained about everything. At what point do you realize you’ve officially crossed over from making fun of your parents… to actually becoming them? And this episode is a big one for another reason — it officially wraps up Season 2 of Waking Up with Flem! That means we’ve now been doing this podcast for two full years, sharing the family chaos, vacations, parenting stories, random debates, embarrassing moments, and everything in between. Two seasons. Two years. A whole lot of stories. Thanks to everybody who has listened, laughed with us, shared an episode, or stuck around for the ride. We can’t wait to see what Season 3 brings!     🎙️ We Have a TEENAGER! 😳🎂⚽

    This week on Waking Up with Flem, we’re officially entering a whole new era… Maizee turned 13! That’s right—we now have a TEENAGER in the house, and we’re still trying to figure out how that happened so fast. 😂 We kick things off recapping a busy weekend at Maizee’s soccer tournament, before jumping into all the birthday festivities. Turning 13 also has us talking about how birthday parties change as the kids get older—gone are the days of the simple little-kid parties! For Maizee’s big day, we headed to Activate for some competitive family fun, plenty of laughs, and a birthday celebration worthy of officially becoming a teenager. Then came Taco Mac… An interesting encounter during dinner sparked a conversation we never expected to have—and ultimately led us to this week’s very important Question of the Day: 💨 Have you ever trusted a fart… and LOST?! 💩😂 Soccer, birthdays, teenagers, family chaos, and bodily functions… somehow it all makes sense on Waking Up with Flem. 🎧 Grab your coffee and wake up with us!

    Our First-Date Red Flags: How Did We End Up Married?!

    Before the marriage, the kids, and all the family chaos…there was dating. And looking back, there may have been a few RED FLAGS we probably should've paid more attention to. 😂 This week on Waking Up with Flem, Ryan and Marlee are going back to the beginning of their relationship and exposing the things they noticed about each other when they first started dating. What was the first red flag? Who tried harder to impress the other? Were there habits we thought would eventually change? What did our friends and families think? And was there ever a moment when one of us thought, “Yeah…this might not work out”? Then we're answering the ultimate question: If we met each other today, would we still date?     Restaurant Pet Peeves: Straight to Jail!

    This week on Waking Up with Flem, Ryan and Marlee are talking about all the little things that can turn a perfectly good meal out into an experience that drives you absolutely CRAZY. 😂 Why are some restaurants so dark that you need your phone flashlight just to read the menu? And once you finally figure out what you're ordering, why is the music so loud that you can't even hear the person sitting across from you? We're getting into all of our biggest restaurant pet peeves—getting seated and then completely forgotten about, QR-code-only menus, automatic gratuity followed by ANOTHER tip screen, and the dreaded moment when everyone's food hits the table...except yours. And can someone please explain why the appetizer we've been waiting on suddenly arrives at the exact same time as dinner?! We're also talking about the things other customers do that make us question humanity: kids running around while their parents completely ignore them, full-volume FaceTime conversations at the table next to you, and groups waiting for a table who decide the perfect place to stand is approximately six inches from YOUR table.
