Naughty vs Nice: A Christian Podcast

Solid Christian based podcast exploring cultural issues, all of which I find interesting. 3+ things I wish could be better: - Both women on the show are soo mean to Todd. I noticed this early on and several times since. There’s often an awkward introduction moment in the podcast and it often leads to the women questioning why Todd is speaking and rude comments. It isn’t clear to me who if anyone is the leader of the podcast but I feel like it almost should be Todd and that the women should let him lead, but they don’t. They would even talk about things like “men need to be leaders” in the modern context of our society hinting at the problem of proper godly masculine leadership. But they need to live it out in their studio. I’m not saying it is all the womens’ faults either. I just recommend for all 3 of them to talk about it and figure it out. - General organization of what they’re talking about could be better. - more facts based evidence to support their claims (there’s a lot of “ohh, this cultural oddity is kind of like the occult, , , ”, when more solid evidence should be included) A plus would be to have guest speakers share more often. But if the main 3 fixed the former issues they could be a lot better themselves too for sure. I also didn’t fully believe Laura’s divorce story - not entirely. She mentions at the beginning physical abuse is not within biblical grounds for divorce among other things. Then describes how it was the right thing to divorce her husband who repeatedly threatened her and had other issues (namely porn). But the psychological makeup of the story, and labeling him as narcissistic while also saying he had close friends and counselors talk to him, most of which ‘didn’t see an issue’ is troubling. It doesn’t add up in my mind, but perhaps I haven’t been close to people with this crazy of a rare mental condition to fully understand it - to that extent I could be wrong, I acknowledge. But I still have my doubts. After all, a high percentage of them time listeners will always agree with the one telling the divorce story unless they’ve heard the other side. Still, I’m not saying she shouldn’t’ve divorced. Clearly the guy had issues and threats to hurt her, and so for her safety she left. That totally makes sense and I’m not denying the pain she had to go through and it is hard to tell a story like that… Just overall felt a little one sided.

This is a very interesting show! I’m really glad I came across it! The episodes are very engaging and I really enjoyed listening to the one episode I listened to. Keep up the good work!

I love digging deeper in a way that you just don’t get in group studies or in church. Todd and Laura lead us into this perfectly—they blow open portions of the scriptures that most people read as a “blah blah blah” section… yet these sections change the dynamic of our faith and see Jesus for who He is. Thank you for what you do. Make sure you listen!
