Episode 26 - Rebecca Lashmar on Intimacy Coordination/Direction

Hello everyone! Welcome to Episode 26 of Season 2 of A View from the Box - The Podcast. I am so happy to have my friend and colleague Rebecca Lashmar on the show today! Becky's going to talk to us about Intimacy Coordination/Direction and why it's so important in the entertainment industry. Rebecca Lashmar is an actor, writer, and intimacy director and coordinator currently working all over Southern Ontario. She holds an MA at the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Toronto with a research interest in how moments of intimacy are written and depicted on stage and screen. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Honours Acting from the University of Windsor, a diploma in Art Administration and Leadership from Queen’s University and is in training to be a Mental Health Coordinator. With a focus on consent-based and trauma-informed practices, Rebecca has a love for unapologetic storytelling, collaboration and text analysis. Rebecca spoke at the first-ever Intimacy Conference for Intimacy Coordination in Berlin, Germany as well as giving workshops at The Great Canadian Playwright Showcase, and The Playwrights Guild of Canada Conference. When not in the theatre or on set, Rebecca enjoys horror films, reading, and baking.
