This detail highlights the active role of the Holy Spirit in Jesus' ministry. He wasn't alone in facing temptation; He was empowered and guided by the Spirit. This same Spirit is available to us today, enabling us to resist temptation and live out our faith in the face of adversity. Our focus today is on embracing the primary theme of Jesus' mission to bring good news to the poor, freedom to the oppressed, sight to the blind, and release to the captives. In this story, Jesus, at just twelve years old, is found in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers. His parents, having realized He was missing, searched anxiously for three days before finding Him in the temple. When questioned by Mary, Jesus responded, “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” This statement reflects an early recognition and prioritization of His divine mission, reminding us of our own call to be steadfastly devoted to God's work.
