From Career to Stay Home Mom to Building a Business While Staying Present With The Children.

What does it actually look like to leave corporate, become a stay-at-home mom, homeschool your children AND build a thriving business from home? In episode two of my Stewarding the Stay-at-Home Mom Season series, I sit down with Diana Kagimba, founder of Ruby's Gift Store, to talk about the life she has intentionally built around motherhood, family and entrepreneurship. Diana shares why she walked away from corporate life, how she and her husband navigated moving from two incomes to one, the reality of adjusting to being home full-time, and why she eventually chose to homeschool her children. But her story didn't stop with staying home. While raising and homeschooling her children, Diana built Ruby's Gift Store and eventually created systems that allow the business to function without requiring her presence in every day-to-day operation. We talk about how she balances homeschooling, business, marriage, home and herself; what she has had to say “no” to; raising confident and independent children when you're a very present mother; and why she believes children don't necessarily need us less as they grow older, their needs simply change. We also explore a bigger question: What does it mean for a woman to be fruitful when fruitfulness isn't always measured by a salary, promotion, degree or business? Whether you're a stay-at-home mom, homeschooling mom, working mother, entrepreneur or simply trying to build a life around what matters most to you, I hope Diana's story gives you something to think about.

I Left My Career To Raise the Children| Was it Worth It? The Truth Every Mom Needs to Hear.

What really happens when a woman puts her career on pause to stay home and raise her children and what happens when she's finally ready to return? In this episode, I sit down with Joan for an honest conversation about leaving her career to become a stay-at-home mom, navigating the loss of income and independence, wrestling with identity, watching other women progress professionally, and eventually finding her way back into work. We talk about the beautiful parts of being present with your children, but also the parts of staying home that aren't talked about enough: feeling left behind, questioning your value outside of motherhood, financial adjustments, maintaining your skills and dreams, and wondering whether you'll ever be able to pick up your career again. Joan also shares how she knew her stay-at-home season was coming to an end, the fears that came with returning to work, how she discovered interior design, and whether knowing everything she knows now she would make the same decision again. We also tackle a difficult question many mothers wrestle with: Can you pause a career and come back to it later? And if so, is returning really as easy as people make it sound? Whether you're a stay-at-home mom who feels invisible, a working mom considering a career break, or a mother who wishes she could stay home but financially cannot, I hope this conversation gives you perspective, encouragement and grace for your own season.

What makes a husband a priest of a home?

What does spiritual leadership and being the priest of the home really mean in marriage? For many Christian couples, spiritual leadership can become a source of confusion, pressure and even disappointment. What does it actually mean for a husband to lead his family spiritually? Does he have to lead every prayer, Bible study or family devotion? And what should a wife do when she feels spiritually hungrier than her husband? In this conversation, I sit down with Rev Gideon Muhima to unpack the realities of spiritual leadership in Christian marriage. We talk about the idea of the “priest of the home,” what the Bible actually teaches about spiritual leadership, the pressure husbands can feel to lead spiritually, and why leadership can sometimes become more about performance than a genuine relationship with Christ. We also tackle some of the difficult questions many Christian couples are asking: • What does spiritual leadership actually look like? • Is the husband really the spiritual leader of the home? • What if the wife is more spiritually mature than her husband? • Can a wife initiate prayer, Bible reading or family devotions? • What should a wife do when her husband isn't leading spiritually? • What if you've prayed for years and nothing seems to change? • What if your husband never becomes the spiritual leader you imagined? • What does a spiritually healthy husband look like in everyday life? • What small habits can husbands begin this week? • How can husbands and wives grow spiritually together? This is an honest conversation for husbands, wives and couples who want to build a marriage where faith isn't simply talked about, but lived out together.

The Honeymoon Conversation Couples need to have.

You have planned The Wedding, but have you planned the honeymoon? In this honest conversation, I sit down with Cerinah and Jackie to talk about honeymoon, and the the parts that couples don't always discuss openly like money, intimacy, expectations, children, contraception, pressure and the reality of starting life together. We talk about: • What is the real purpose of a honeymoon? • Should couples plan their honeymoon together? • How much should you really spend on a honeymoon? • Should the honeymoon be postponed if money is tight? • What conversations should couples have before booking the trip? • What expectations do couples often have about their first night? • Why can intimacy on the honeymoon feel so overwhelming? • How can couples remove pressure around sex and create emotional safety? • What if one partner wants children immediately and the other doesn't? • Should couples discuss contraception before marriage? • What happens when the honeymoon doesn't go exactly as planned? • What did we got right and what we would do differently? This isn't about having the “perfect” honeymoon. It's about entering marriage with realistic expectations, honest conversations and a better understanding of each other. If you're engaged, newly married, planning a honeymoon or simply thinking seriously about marriage, this conversation is for you. ❤️ LISTEN UNTIL THE END because some of the most important conversations are the ones couples are often too shy to have.
