Life is Delicious- Midlife Reinvention, Healthy Boundaries & Intentional Living for Women. Writing Your Own Recipe for a Life

Marnie Martin- Midlife Mentor, Empowerment Coach, Happiness Expert, Best Selling Author

Ever feel like midlife has you running on an endless hamster wheel of responsibilities while your own dreams gather dust? Is the crazy chaos of caring for everyone else leaving you exhausted and overwhelmed? Are you in desperate need of some self care, balance and reconnection with your most authentic self?  YOU are in the right place. This podcast isn't about surviving midlife; it's about crafting a next chapter overflowing with purpose, joy, and delicious possibilities. I'm Marnie Martin, a multi-passionate entrepreneur, daughter and a hot midlife Mama (literally) and over the last decade, I've been through career pivots, a divorce, and I survived the empty nest, only to have it fill up again. I spent the next several years travelling miles and miles every month to care for my elderly parents and my time and attention was so torn in every direction that I lost track of who I was, and I found myself in an endless cycle of people pleasing, putting out fires and running on empty. I know how it feels to be stuck in chronic overwhelm, stress and chaos and trust me, it's not a pretty picture.  I decided that it was time to take MY OWN life and health back and I worked hard to reclaim my health through radical self care practices, recalibrating my nervous system and setting healthy boundaries that allowed me to start living my life "on purpose" again. I'm here to show you that midlife doesn't have to be a crisis, but instead a beautiful invitation to remember who we are, to rediscover a new version of ourself, or to completely re-invent our life to reflect who we are becoming now-intentionally crafting a life by design that truly nourishes our soul. If you are ready to take back YOUR "Joie de Vivre", then you are in the exact right place! Each week brings conversations with health and wellness specialists, spiritual growth experts, and guests with courageous and transformative stories that will inspire you to break free from the overwhelm. You'll walk away with practical strategies, meaningful insights, inspiration and the permission to prioritize yourself  again.  We were born to thrive and experience life as the delicious feast it's meant to be. 72: “6 Truths to Turn Your Perceived Weaknesses Into Strengths in Midlife” with Toni Will

Send us Fan Mail She’s one of the only women running a men’s professional hockey team in the country and she got the job without applying. Tony Will, general manager of the Kalamazoo Wings, joins us to unpack what happens when you stop chasing the “right” path and start building one that fits your actual personality, values, and season of life. We talk about the behind-the-scenes reality of leading a sports business from the front office, why taking a pay cut can be the smartest career move you ever make, and how being an outsider in a male-dominated industry can become a competitive advantage. Tony also shares a personal part of her leadership story: choosing an alcohol-free life in a culture that glorifies drinking, and why that decision becomes a strength instead of a limitation. From her TEDx work and her book The Rebellious Success, Tony breaks down six practical truths for midlife women ready to shift gears: learning from experts, making ideas your own, treating mistakes as opportunities, skipping the permission trap, staying steady when you go off track, and remembering there’s no point if you’re not having fun. We also get real about redefining success, perimenopause mindset shifts, and why hiring a coach can help you see what you can’t see from inside the problem. If you’re ready for a fresh definition of success, a stronger sense of self, and tools you can use today, hit play. 71-Let it FALL: What the Autumn Equinox Can Teach Us About Balance, Change and Letting Go.

Send us Fan Mail The Autumn Equinox is a quiet kind of power. It’s one of the only times all year when day and night come into near perfect balance, and that symmetry gives us a simple invitation: pause, breathe, and reset your life with intention instead of momentum. I share why this seasonal transition matters, why it can feel like an energetic shift, and how autumn in the Northern Hemisphere naturally points us toward harvest, gratitude, and letting go. We keep it practical with five easy ways to honor the equinox without needing elaborate rituals: take a nature walk and notice the changing colors, write a gratitude list of what you’ve “harvested” this year, light a candle at dusk to honor light and darkness, release one fear or habit that no longer serves you, and share a warm seasonal meal with people you love. These small equinox rituals are designed to bring you back to presence and help you create balance you can actually feel. Then we go deeper with a short meditation on reconnecting to the rhythms of the earth in a world of screens and constant noise. We talk about morning sunlight for circadian rhythm, grounding for a calmer body, turning off Wi-Fi at night for real rest, eating real food, building a home that feels like a sanctuary, and using music, humming, and movement to soothe the nervous system and reset your vagal tone. If you’ve been craving peace, this is a gentle, grounded place to start. If this resonated, subscribe, share it with a friend who loves autumn, and leave a review so more people can find it. 69- Why Every Woman Should Travel Solo at Least Once | Solo Travel After 40 with Megan Weinhiemer

Send us Fan Mail Your life can fall apart on a random Tuesday and still lead you somewhere stunning. Megan Weinheimer joins us to share how an unexpected divorce at 40 pushed her into a rebuild she never asked for and how solo travel became the tool that helped her do it anyway. A two-month trip to Portugal, including the Azores, wasn’t just a getaway. It was a chance to get out of the same environment, face discomfort head-on, and remember what it feels like to make choices that are hers. We get real about what actually happens on a first solo trip: the language hiccups, the “why won’t this key work” moments, and the way those small challenges quietly build resilience. Megan also shares a mindset shift she picked up from Elizabeth Gilbert, letting fear come along for the ride while refusing to hand it the steering wheel. From there, we move into practical solo female travel advice you can use right now: start small, stop chasing the perfect itinerary, don’t overplan, and leave space for spontaneous local recommendations that can become your favorite memories. Safety comes up too, with clear, grounded solo travel safety tips for women: share your location, send your itinerary to trusted people, use tap-to-pay to avoid flashing your wallet, carry a portable charger, and trust your gut, especially after dark. We also talk about her free community, the Solo Travel Sisterhood, and why solo travel isn’t about being alone. It’s about coming home to yourself. If this conversation helps, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs a push, and leave us a review. 68-Deadheading Your Life: Letting Go Of What No Longer Fits in The Messy Middle

Send us Fan Mail You can outgrow a life without anything “going wrong,” and that truth hits harder than most of us expect. We start with a simple practice from the garden: deadheading, or clipping blooms that had their season so the plant can redirect energy to new growth. Then we bring that same lens to midlife, relationships, career paths, routines, and the quiet commitments that keep running long after they stop feeding us. Something doesn’t have to be bad to be finished, and you don’t need a dramatic blowup to earn the right to change.  We dig into why “I’m confused” is often something else entirely. Sometimes it’s conflict: you know what you want, but choosing it could disappoint people or disrupt the familiar life you’ve built. We talk about the sunk cost fallacy in real life, how “I’ve invested so much” can trap you in jobs, friendships, and roles that no longer fit, and why your past with something explains attachment but doesn’t automatically justify its future. Along the way, we share a personal, recent example of stepping away from a relationship when boundaries slipped and self-worth started getting negotiated.  To close, we zoom out to the most honest symbol of transformation: the butterfly. Metamorphosis is disruptive, and the middle can feel like disorientation because the old structure is gone before the new one fully forms. If you’re in that in-between, this conversation will help you reclaim your energy, tell the truth about what’s here now, and make room for what’s trying to bloom next. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs it, and leave a review. What are you ready to stop maintaining? 66: How Perfectionism Steals Your Joy (And How to Let It Go)

Send us Fan Mail Perfectionism is not a personality trait we just “have.” For so many of us, it is fear wearing a fancy hat, telling us to wait until we are ready, polished, and certain. But waiting has a cost: stalled dreams, louder self-doubt, and that nagging sense that life is happening while we sit on the sidelines. We get honest about how perfectionism shows up in midlife and why “high standards” can quietly turn into procrastination, anxiety, and disconnection from who we are becoming. We walk through what it means to start messy without starting sloppy, and why action creates momentum. When you take small, imperfect steps, you build confidence the real way: through evidence and repetition. If you have been sitting on a book idea, a course, a creative project, a business, or a personal reinvention, you will leave with a simpler path forward that does not require perfect timing, perfect tools, or perfect certainty. You will also hear practical mindset shifts you can use today: reframing your inner critic, sharing something unfinished with someone safe, deleting “should” from your vocabulary, and celebrating micro wins with a ta-da list. We talk about the power of supportive friendships that mirror back your strength and remind you that you do not have to earn your worth through flawless performance. If you are ready to choose progress over perfection and make space for more joy, purpose, and peace, hit play now.
