Ryan Klein | The Man Behind the Music — Songwriter, Manager & Promoter

Send us Fan Mail Ryan Klein has built a career in independent country music by understanding the business from both sides of the stage. A songwriter, musician, artist manager, and promoter, Klein has been closely connected with The Lowdown Drifters, first as a guitarist and songwriter and later helping guide the band's career through Gold Towne Music. His songwriting credits include “Give Up On the Dream,” recorded by The Lowdown Drifters with Dalton Domino, as well as “The Ballad of the Reef Shadow.” As the owner of Gold Towne Music, Klein has expanded his role from making music to developing and managing artists. His management work includes The Lowdown Drifters and singer-songwriter Kellen Smith, giving him firsthand experience in the challenges of building careers in today's independent country and Americana landscape. Klein is also one of the driving forces behind Dusty Vaquero Days in Gillette, Wyoming. Working alongside cowboy, filmmaker, and Dusty Vaquero founder J.B. Zielke, Klein helped create a festival centered on artists with genuine connections to ranching, agriculture, Western culture, and the cowboy way of life. The event brings together regional and national performers while keeping authentic storytelling and independent music at its core. Ryan Klein represents the increasingly important independent side of the music industry—someone who has written the songs, played the shows, traveled the miles, managed the artists, and helped create the stages for others to perform on. His perspective offers a unique look behind the curtain at what it really takes to build an artist's career, promote live music, and keep authentic country and Western music moving forward. 🎵 In This Episode: • Ryan Klein interview • Event Promoter • Dusty Vaquero Days • Songwriter MORE ABOUT MUSICAL MILES PODCAST: Website: https://share.google/njnmmglKCpu8nX7jn Instagram: https://share.google/PvAJe1qGxIKhYSVZ7 Facebook: https://share.google/OcbFlCHb3fSntAVhX TikTok: https://share.google/ikD2YSj8qEMv3ROY2 Spotify: https://share.google/ooaz1mIUqHoM9CW9z YouTube: https://share.google/7xkaESL50rsQx93Qr SPONSORSHIP INFORMATION: Contact Byron Duffin musicalmilespodcast@gmail.com 208-690-1426 SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS: Click the links for more info Our Guitar Sponsor Klos Guitars ~ www.klosguitar.com ROPER ~ Wear The West For Discounts on Boots, Shoes and Western Apparel ClICK THE LINK:  https://eroper.com/?ref=BYRONDUFFIN TIN HAUL ~ 30% DISCOUNTS For our Musical Miles Podcast followers Click the link to shop. https://tinhaul.com/?ref=BYRONDUFFIN FOR PODCAST EPISODE SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: Contact Byron Duffin 208-690-1426 musicalmilespodcast@gmail.com #ryanklein, #dustyvaquerodays  #cowboymusic, #songwriter,  #countrymusic,  #musicalmilespodcast,  #PodcastInterview, #MusicalMiles, #songwriterinterview, Support the show TO SUPPORT THE PODCAST DONATE HERE: https://patreon.com/MusicalMilesPodcast

Richard Inman | The Canadian Troubadour Keeping Real Country Music Alive

Send us Fan Mail Richard Inman is a Canadian country and folk singer-songwriter whose deep baritone voice, understated guitar work, and unvarnished storytelling have earned him a devoted following throughout Canada and beyond. Raised in southeastern Manitoba and shaped by time spent on the Canadian prairies, Inman writes songs about ordinary people, hard miles, heartache, home, and the landscapes that surround them. Country music was part of Inman’s life from an early age. He grew up hearing artists such as Johnny Cash and George Jones, eventually beginning to write his own songs as a teenager. Those traditional influences remain evident in a style that favors honest lyrics and memorable stories over polished trends. Inman has built his reputation the old-fashioned way: one song, one stage and thousands of miles at a time. His touring has taken him from intimate prairie bars to festivals and international performances in countries including Denmark and Germany. His years of relentless touring and a residency at Winnipeg's celebrated Times Change(d) High & Lonesome Club helped establish him as an important voice in the Canadian country and roots scene. His catalog includes releases such as 30 Days, Richard Inman, Hasta La Vista, Come Back Through, Inman, and more recent songs including “Lethbridge County Blue,” “Gone,” and 2025's “Hell Of A Daydream.” His 2022 album Come Back Through was recorded in Manitoba and Alberta, with Inman handling vocals, acoustic guitar and drums and co-producing the project with Kevin Peters. What makes Richard Inman especially suited for the Musical Miles Podcast is the authenticity behind the music. He's a road-tested troubadour whose songs feel lived rather than manufactured—music rooted in country tradition, prairie life and the experiences of the people he's encountered along the way. In this episode, Byron Duffin sits down with Richard Inman for a conversation about songwriting, life on the road, the experiences behind his music, and the kind of authentic country storytelling that continues to connect with listeners on both sides of the Canadian border. Richard Inman doesn't just sing country songs—he tells the stories of the people and places encountered along the road. Zach Aaron | The Cowboy Songwriter You Need to Know

Send us Fan Mail Zach Aaron is the kind of songwriter whose music can only come from a life that's been lived. Hailing from Cleveland, Texas, Aaron is a singer-songwriter whose authentic blend of Texas country, folk, and Americana is rooted in hard work, real experiences, and timeless storytelling. His weathered voice, intricate finger-picked guitar style, and deeply personal lyrics have earned him a growing reputation as one of the most compelling independent artists on the Texas music scene. Before dedicating himself fully to music, Aaron served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter aircraft mechanic. Today, when he's not writing songs or touring, he works as a horseshoer, and has competed in the Texas amateur rodeo circuit as a saddle bronc rider—experiences that give his songs a level of authenticity few artists can match. Ross Cooper | PRCA Cowboy to Nashville Songwriter | Musical Miles Podcast ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Send us Fan Mail Ross Cooper is a West Texas-born singer-songwriter, storyteller, and second-generation rodeo cowboy whose music bridges authentic cowboy culture with Texas country, Americana, and the songwriting traditions of the Lone Star State. Raised around Lubbock, Cooper grew up balancing a love of horses with a love of songs, eventually earning a college rodeo scholarship and competing in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) before trading the rodeo arena for a life devoted to music. Influenced by legendary Texas storytellers including Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Robert Earl Keen, and Joe Ely, Cooper developed a songwriting style rooted in real experiences—the road, relationships, family, West Texas, and the cowboy life he actually lived. After moving to Nashville, he established himself not only as a recording and touring artist but as a respected songwriter whose songs have been recorded by artists including Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen, and William Clark Green. Albums including I Rode the Wild Horses, Chasing Old Highs, and Lightning Heart have showcased Cooper's ability to combine traditional Western imagery with contemporary country and Americana storytelling. More recently, he released Live From Hotel Turkey, capturing his songs in an intimate setting at the historic Hotel Turkey in Turkey, Texas—a place that has become closely connected to his music. At the heart of Ross Cooper's music is something increasingly rare: authenticity. He isn't simply writing songs about cowboys from the outside—he's writing about a world he knows firsthand. His music carries the grit of the rodeo, the wide-open landscape of West Texas, and the emotional honesty of a songwriter determined to tell stories that mean something.
