The Bridge Brothers Presents...

Matthew and Nick Homer

Matt and Nick Homer are back for the upcoming football season with two new football podcasts, The Bridge Brothers Podcast and FPL Bridge Brothers. The first of these is an irreverent take on weekly football stories where we cover topics such as non-league, EFL, the Premier League, WSL and much more. Our second show continues our Fantasy Premier League journey as initially documented in our podcast FPL Pod VS Tok, but is a more focused and streamlined show which follows the lads' journey as they continue to out-do each other in their mini-leagues and cup competitions. So welcome aboard for our two new shows! We cannot wait to get started! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

End of Season Awards & World Cup Chat!

Work, the Podcast Show London and Matt's trip to Belgium were three of the reasons for this, (slightly), delayed season round up and World Cup preview! After listing some of Chelsea's best Belgium players over the years, the lads then review their FPL seasons. Matt's was a tale of reward through perseverance and other priorities for Nick saw him drop below his usual high standards. However, as the brothers discuss, Nick got his priorities right! The FPL chat then sees the lads continue their new tradition of presenting The Bridge Brothers' End of Season Awards, otherwise known as "The Bridgies." Who will be the winner in coveted categories such as "Goalkeeper of the Season," "Surprise of the Season" and "Player of the Season"? And who will walk away with the less prestigious honours of "Flop of the Season" and "Troll of the Season"? Check out the episode to find out! Matt and Nick finish the show with some World Cup chat, including their plans for covering the tournament. As we want to make next season's show our best yet, we are not going to do any podcasts during the World Cup, but will pop up on our socials with some sound bites where we will share our thoughts on the games, players and how the tournament is generally being delivered by the hosts. If you like to see this content, or want to contest who we have chosen for the Bridgies, you can do so via the following ways... FPL Fatigue and One Last Aerial WSL Review

As the Premier League draws to a close, the Bridge Brothers find themselves crawling to the FPL finishing line. Nick is, like Chelsea, is already thinking about next season and Matt is trying to get some crumbs of comfort by winning one of his work mini-leagues. The lads chat about their game week 37 performances, which was well and truly still in play at the time of recordings as well as their plans for the final game week 38. Matt and Nick also bid farewell to Aerial WSL and talk about whether there will be a new Fantasy app ready for the 26/27 campaign. Matt also doesn't miss the chance to mention that he is the champion of the inaugural, and perhaps last ever, Bridge Brothers WSL mini-league. There's also a brief bit of chat about Matt's trip to London to attend the Podcast Show 2026 as well as a clip featuring his experience of being in North London when Arsenal won the league. The chaps recorded this episode the day before City drew 1-1 with Bournemouth and so it is important to say that some of their plans may need to change accordingly. While there is no Fantasy WSL, there is still FPL and the final deadline and joining code is... Sunday the 24th of May at 14:30. Victory for VAR-senal and a Heart Felt Goodbye to Aerial Fantasy WSL...

The long and winding road that is this season's Premier League and, by extension, FPL is coming to an end. But with 2 more game weeks to go, the Brothers discuss their performances in double game week 36, (which was still ongoing at the time of recording), as well as their plans to finish with a flourish as the end of another campaign draws near. While the Prem is in its penultimate week, the WSL heads towards its last game. Unlike the well heeled and well sponsored FPL app, the women's game needs to contemplate life without fantasy football with Aerial FWSL bidding farewell to its many players after game week 22. So it for one last time, the FWSL deadline and joining code is as follows... Saturday the 16th of May at 12:00 FKWAXX For the money bags Premier League and FPL, the penultimate FPL deadline and joining code is... Friday the 15th of May at 18:30. Score a Hat Trick or Stay Home...

"Score a hat trick or go home" is a phrase that we use referencing Aston Villa's Anna Patten with Matt hoping for a brilliant performance from her to continue his good Fantasy WSL season. However, we could also use it towards Nick who is lacing up his boots again as part of AFC Croydon's What a Life Cup and is fundraiser to improve youth facilities for the next generation of footballing talent. The Brothers also discuss whether Nick qualifies as a celebrity by virtue as co-presenter of this very podcast! If you're interested in attending and raising money for a good cause, more details can be found below... AFC Croydon Website Speaking of "this very podcast," the lads review their game week 35 performances and ask the question: "can Matt continue his good form now he has used up all his chips?" The chaps also share their FPL plans with Matt considering bringing in Saka and Nick deciding on "the tragic end of Igor Thiago" as he contemplates whether to transfer out the Brentford talisman. Things are a lot more interesting in Fantasy WSL, as the Bridge Brothers contend with Arsenal's triple game week as well as playing their respective chips ahead of the last game week of the season and, very sadly, the last ever game week for Aerial Fantasy WSL. Times and joining codes are detailed below... FPL: Game week 36: Saturday the 9th of May at 11:00.
