    God's Perfect Provision (Part 1)

According to Dr. John Whitcomb, God's written revelation is the ark of truth. Just as Noah's Ark was the exclusive means of physical salvation through the flood, so God's Holy Word provides the only message of spiritual salvation. As our speaker says, it is perfectly designed to bring us all the way to God's heaven through faith in Jesus Christ. God's Word is true from the beginning to the end, and it's that Word that Whitcomb Ministries brings you every week on this program. I'm Wayne Shepherd, your host, encouraging you to listen to this edition of Encounter God's Truth, as Dr. Whitcomb presents part one of a message called God's Perfect Provision. Today's lesson takes us back inside the auditorium at Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, West Virginia. We so appreciate the school allowing us to use this audio here on Encounter God's Truth. To learn more about them, you can visit their website at abc.edu. And if you've missed any of the programs so far in this series, you can always listen to them again at sermonaudio.com/Whitcomb. We even have a prior series there on biblical apologetics, also recorded at Appalachian, which will help you understand more about the topics currently under discussion. But right now, let's listen to Dr. Whitcomb teach about God's perfect provision. We want to have a biblical perspective on Christian evidences and be able to use Scripture to make the greatest possible impact before the Lord returns. Here's Dr. John Whitcomb. The Need for Christian Evidences (Part 4)

When you try to share your Christian faith, you understand just how powerful the enemies of the gospel really are? Hello again, friends, I’m your host, Wayne Shepherd, inviting you to listen to our faith building broadcast called Encounter God's Truth, featuring the classical Bible teaching of Dr. John Whitcomb. We're in the midst of a series called Christian Evidences. And today, we're going to listen to the conclusion of a message on the limitations of Christian evidences. In today's lesson, we're going to think about the incredible obstacles that we face when we attempt to take the gospel to unbelievers. And how Christian evidences, wonderful as they may be, are utterly insufficient to bring an unbeliever to trust in the gospel. As Romans 10:17 declares, “Faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ.” Let me also remind you again of one of the most important New Testament passages for this series, 1 Peter chapter 3, verses 15 and 16, which reads, “In your hearts, honor Christ the Lord as holy. Always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. Yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.” Join us now, please, in the auditorium at Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, West Virginia, as we hear part two of this sermon. Remember that you can always listen to all the past broadcasts from this entire series in our library at SermonAudio.com/Whitcomb, where you’ll find more than 1,500 sermons and messages that you can access and learn from at any time. We're glad to have you listening, and you'll want to stay tuned as Dr. Whitcomb explains some vital biblical truths that can guide us in our attempt to witness to unbelievers. Whitcomb Ministries shares this radio outreach to advance our conviction that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. But that being the case, how do we use Christian evidences? What place do they hold in comparison to the Word of God? How do they help us to further his message? We're going to think through those crucial questions in part one of Dr. Whitcomb's message on the limitations of Christian evidences. He'll show us in a moment how we must trust the Scriptures as our ultimate authority, even in the realm of apologetics and Christian evidences. The Need for Christian Evidences (Part 1)

How much emphasis should we put on evidences that bear testimony to the Christian faith as we seek to share biblical truth with those who have yet to believe on Christ? Author and Bible teacher, Dr. John Whitcomb, has much to say about this topic in a new series that we're opening today here on Encounter God's Truth. The broadcast outreach of Whitcomb Ministries and Whitcomb Ministries.org. I'm your host, Wayne Shepherd, and I want to invite you to listen today as Dr. Whitcomb presents part one of a message on the need for Christian evidences. Dr. Whitcomb preached these messages in a Bible conference for the students and faculty at Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, West Virginia. You can sense his love for the people of this school in his voice, and we hardily thank them for allowing us to bring you this material. Now, the challenge that we're dealing with in this series is this. We as Christians know that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. But how do we convince unbelievers of this fact? And what place should we give to evidences for the Christian faith? To find out more, we joined the congregation assembled in the auditorium at Appalachian Bible College. Here's Dr. Whitcomb to begin looking at the need for Christian evidences. He stars by sharing some of his own experiences.
