Episode 100: The Communication Skills Nobody Ever Taught You - Jaimie Abbott

Are You Actually Listening, or Just Waiting for Your Turn to Talk? Okay, real talk. Most of us were never taught how to communicate. Not at school, not at home, not anywhere. We just kind of winged it and then wonder why the hard conversations turn into blow ups, why the networking event felt awkward, or why we froze mid-sentence when it mattered most. This week I sat down with Jamie Abbott, journalist turned military media coach turned "how to actually get people to listen to you" expert, and she called me out within the first two minutes. Fair enough. This episode will make you rethink your last few conversations. What You'll Learn The one thing exceptional communicators do differently (hint: it's not about what you say) Jamie's simple formula for winning people over at any event, even if you hate small talk Why "listening" and "waiting for your turn" are not the same thing, and how to actually tell the difference How to prep for a hard conversation so it doesn't turn into a fight or years of silence What your hands, tone, and body language are giving away without you realising it If this episode hit home, you're going to want to hear the whole thing. To know more about Stacy, visit her website at: https://www.stacymunzenberger.com About Jaimie Abott Jaimie Abbott is an award-winning international keynote speaker, MC, media trainer and public speaking coach based in Newcastle, Australia. Episode 98: Co-Parenting or Parallel Parenting? The Question Nobody Asks You Before You Sign the Parenting Plan

Stop Trying to Co-Parent With Someone Who Never Agreed to Play If you've been giving everything to make co-parenting work with someone who just isn't meeting you halfway, and you keep walking away feeling like you're the one getting it wrong... I need you to hear this. You're not failing. You've just been using the wrong tool for the situation you're actually in. In this episode, I'm breaking down the real difference between co-parenting and parallel parenting, and why choosing the second one doesn't mean you've given up on your family. It means you've finally stopped fighting for something that was never on the table. In this episode, you'll learn: Why "co-parenting" isn't one-size-fits-all, and how to spot which model you're actually in The exact boundaries that make parallel parenting work, from communication to handovers to big decisions How to let go of the guilt that comes with stepping back from a cooperative model that isn't working Simple, practical shifts you can make starting today, without needing your ex to change at all Why your child doesn't need two parents who agree. They need two parents who are steady This episode is for you if you've been exhausted, second-guessing yourself, or quietly wondering if it's your fault. It's not. Give it a listen, and if it hits home, share it with someone who needs to hear it too. Ready to go deeper? Book a call with me and let's talk about what structure could actually look like for your family. "You don't need your ex to become reasonable. You need a structure that doesn't depend on it." 🔗 Website: https://www.stacymunzenberger.comExplore Resources: https://www.transformwithstacy.com/the-narcissist-playbook #CoParenting #ParallelParenting #SingleParentLife #CoParentingTips  #DivorcedParents #FamilyBoundaries #ParentingAfterDivorce  #HealthyBoundaries #ParentingSupport #TheStacyMShow #RealTalkParenting #CoParentingJourney

Episode 97: You Don't Have to Feel Ready, You Just Have to Start

Ever waited for that "green light" feeling before making a big move? Yeah, same. In this episode, Stacy gets real about the myth of feeling ready, and why waiting for it might be the exact thing keeping you stuck. Spoiler: readiness doesn't come before you act. It shows up after. In this episode, you'll learn: Why "I'm not ready" is often just fear wearing a sensible costume The one reframe that turns waiting into momentum (hint: it's a question, not a feeling) How Stacy pushed through her hardest moments, including starting cancer treatment, without ever feeling ready first A simple 24-hour challenge to help you take your smallest true step today Why facts build confidence faster than feelings ever will If you've been sitting on something, waiting for a feeling that isn't coming, this episode is your nudge. Give it a listen, then tell Stacy on Instagram what your small step was. Loved this one? Share it with a friend who needs the nudge too. Episode 96: The 90-Second Rule: How to Stop a Fight Before It Starts

You know that moment when someone says something and your whole body just wants to react? Chest tight, jaw clenched, fingers already typing the text you're going to regret? Yeah. This episode is about exactly that. Turns out that feeling isn't just "you being dramatic," it's a literal chemical wave moving through your body, and it only lasts about 90 seconds if you let it. The problem is almost nobody lets it. We fire back in the heat of it and then spend days, sometimes years, cleaning up something that took two minutes to trigger. I'm giving you the simple rule that changes that, and honestly, it's the one skill that will save you the most energy, the most bad texts, and the most dignity. In this episode, you'll learn: Why that "I need to say something right now" feeling isn't your smart brain talking, and what actually is The exact 90 second rule that stops you from reacting in a way you'll regret later Simple, real ways to ride out the wave (that don't involve pretending you're totally fine when you're not) Why the person who doesn't respond immediately almost always comes out looking the most in control How to practice this on the small stuff now so it's second nature when the big stuff shows up If you've ever sent a message you wish you could take back, or lost a bit of yourself responding to someone who was clearly trying to bait you, this one's for you. Loved this episode? Send it to the person who needs to hear it right now (you know exactly who I mean). And if you're ready to go deeper on managing your energy and protecting your peace, book a call with me or come join the program, I'd love to have you. Episode 95: The One Question That Ends Overthinking (Try It Tonight)

Are You Thinking, Or Are You Just Looping? Ever laid awake at some silly o'clock replaying the same conversation for the hundredth time? What you should've said, what you'll say next time, what it all means? Yeah, me too. In this episode I'm giving you the one question that's saved me hours of my life back, and it might just do the same for you. What you'll walk away with: A dead simple way to tell the difference between actually thinking something through and just looping the same three-minute tape on repeat The exact question to ask yourself the second a spiral starts, so you can catch it before it eats your whole evening Why fighting or shutting down a thought never works, and what to do instead A practical, physical trick to interrupt the loop when your brain won't let go A little more peace at 2am, and a little more trust in yourself If this one lands, you know what to do. Come say hi, tell me which lap you're stuck on, or if you're ready to stop looping and actually move forward, let's talk. Episode 94: How Do You Cope When You Know It's Over But You Haven't Left Yet? Should I Stay For The Kids?

You've probably told yourself you're doing the right thing. Keeping the family together, keeping the peace, keeping everything looking normal from the outside. But if you're honest? You're exhausted. You're not really present. And somewhere underneath all that keeping, a quiet question keeps running on repeat. This episode isn't about whether to stay or leave. It's about something far more important, what you're actually teaching your kids by staying, and whether the version of you they're getting is the version they deserve. What you'll walk away with  Why "staying for the kids" might be doing more harm than you realise — and the honest question you need to ask yourself instead.  How to tell the difference between a difficult season worth pushing through and a relationship that quietly ended a long time ago.  The real reason fear sounds so convincing (and why it's a terrible place to make a long-term decision from).  A simple reframe that shifts the whole conversation — from "should I stay?" to something that actually creates clarity.  Why your children need you emotionally present far more than they need you physically in the same house. If this episode hit close to home, you don't have to sit with it alone. Whether you're trying to figure out your next step, work through the guilt, or just have someone in your corner who gets it, that's exactly what I'm here for. Let's have a real conversation. Episode 93: Your Why Can Change (And That's Okay)

You Hit The Goal. So Why Do You Feel Nothing? You know that feeling when you finally get the thing you've been chasing and instead of fireworks, you just feel... flat? Yeah. This episode is about that. Stacy's getting honest about why so many of us spend years working towards a goal, only to reach it and quietly think "is this it?" Turns out the goal was never really the point. There's something underneath it. And once you find it, everything starts to make a lot more sense. In this episode, you'll learn: Why chasing the "what" without knowing your "why" leaves you feeling empty, even when you're winning A simple five-step exercise to dig past the surface answer and find what you're actually chasing Why it's completely okay for your why to change, and how to spot when it has How to start making decisions based on how you want your life to feel, not just how it looks Why feeling stuck might not be a motivation problem at all, but a sign you've outgrown an old goal If this episode hit a little close to home, you're not alone, and that's kind of the point. Share it with a friend who needs to hear it, leave a review if it gave you something to think about, and if you're ready to get real clarity on what you're actually working towards, book a call with Stacy below.
