    S2 Ep 2 | HARVEST | Strange Harvest Folklore & Scarecrow Encounters

Connect With Us! Strange harvest folklore, scarecrow encounters, old traditions, and the biblical meaning of harvest come together in this episode of Sasquatch & Sourdough. From the mysterious Old Woman said to remain in the last sheaf to a reported Bigfoot encounter beside a scarecrow, we follow some wonderfully uncanny stories out into the fields. For centuries, harvest has carried strange customs and folklore about what remains when the final grain is cut. There’s the hare hiding in the last standing corn, the Cailleach—or Old Woman—carried home from the field, and the deeply strange figure of the scarecrow: something made to look alive when there is no life inside it.  A Virginia witness remembers seeing an enormous hair-covered figure standing beside a scarecrow. An old West Virginia legend turns the image inside out with the story of Crock Face—a living person allegedly pretending to be one. But beneath all of these stories is a deeper question: What have we been growing? Jesus spoke about wheat and weeds, vines and branches, pruning and fruit. Galatians reminds us that we reap what we sow. Psalm 126 speaks to those who have sown in tears and are still waiting for the harvest. And in John 15, Jesus brings us back to the source: “I am the vine; you are the branches.” Maybe harvest isn't only about what we gather. Maybe it's about what is finally revealed. A strange autumn journey through harvest folklore, scarecrow legends, Bigfoot encounters, Christian faith, biblical harvest imagery, sowing and reaping, and the fruit we grow. The truth is out there. God is with you. And everyone always ends up in the kitchen. Scripture: Matthew 13 • John 15 • Galatians 6 • Psalm 126 Strange stories. True faith. New Here? Hi! Ep. 57 | The Early Church Wasn’t Afraid | The Supernatural World Is Real

Connect With Us! The early church lived in a deeply supernatural world. Spirits. Sorcery. Miracles. Strange encounters. Spiritual oppression. And somehow… they weren’t afraid. In this episode of Sasquatch & Sourdough, we explore the supernatural world through the lens of the Book of Acts, thin spaces, spiritual atmosphere, worship, discernment, and the presence of God. From the mysterious Green Children of Woolpit to wilderness encounters where forests suddenly fall silent… from ancient Christian ideas of “thin places”  — this episode asks a deeper question: What kind of spiritual atmosphere are we cultivating? Because not every supernatural obsession leads toward life. Some people spend years endlessly consuming paranormal content, UFO theories, hidden knowledge, and fear-driven speculation… always searching for the next supernatural high. Always scrolling. Always anticipating. But never resting. And over time, that produces something too: Fear disguised as discernment. Maybe believers were never meant to become consumed by darkness. Maybe we were meant to carry the presence of God into it. This episode explores:  🌿 spiritual authority  🌿 Acts & Colossians  🌿 supernatural encounters  🌿 thin spaces & sacred atmosphere  🌿 worship changing environments  🌿 fear vs presence  🌿 discernment  🌿 the Holy Spirit  🌿 the Garden of Eden  🌿 returning to closeness with God Because the greatest supernatural mystery was never hidden knowledge. It was Jesus. Colossians 1:19  “For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell.” The supernatural world is real. But fear was never meant to become the center of the Christian life. 🌿 Sources & Encounters Referenced: Green Children of Woolpit  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_children_of_WoolpitBigfoot Field Researchers Organization wilderness encounter report  https://www.bfro.net/gdb/show_report.asp?id=62354 Thin places & sacred atmosphere  https://blogs.bible.org/thin-places-an-ancient-phrase-with-biblical-roots-and-contemporary-fruit/Blurry Creatures episode 422 🌿 www.sasquatchandsourdough.com  🌿 https://linktr.ee/sasquatchandsourdough Strange stories. Ep. 56 | Grief Is a Doorway… What People Encounter in Loss | Real Stories of Presence

Connect With Us! Grief changes everything. It can feel like silence. Like distance. Like standing at a doorway you never wanted to walk through. But what if that doorway isn’t empty? In this episode of Sasquatch & Sourdough, we explore real encounters that take place in the middle of grief—moments that are often quiet, unexpected, and deeply personal. From historical records like Phantasms of the Living to modern testimonies, a pattern begins to emerge: People in grief… often don’t feel alone. This episode weaves together:  The writings of C. S. Lewis on grief and silence  Historical crisis apparition accounts recorded by the Society for Psychical Research A Bigfoot encounter from Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization in Indiana  A powerful account of children saved in what many describe as an angelic encounter  Reflections on presence, silence, and what it means to walk through loss And at the center of it all is a simple but powerful reminder: After losing his daughters at sea, Horatio Spafford wrote It Is Well With My Soul—not after healing, but in the middle of grief. Not all encounters are seen. Some are felt. And some… become something that lasts. Because grief may be a doorway— but it may not be one we walk through alone. Strange stories. True faith. New Here? Ep. 55 | The Oz Factor: Why the World Suddenly Goes Quiet (Bigfoot & Appalachian Encounters)

Connect With Us! There are moments when the world suddenly goes quiet.  The air stills. The familiar feels different. Some call it the Oz Factor. In this episode of Sasquatch and Sourdough, we explore real encounters that don’t rely on fear—but on awareness. From the Oz Factor to Appalachian high strangeness, a pattern begins to emerge: the world may not be empty—it may be layered. This episode includes:  The Oz Factor (when reality suddenly feels altered)  The White-Eyed Witch of Dismal Holler (Appalachian encounter)  Nebraska Bigfoot encounters (BFRO-style reports)  Wilderness moments where something is present—but not fully seen Rather than asking what these encounters are, this episode explores why they feel familiar… and why people return to them. Ep. 54 | They Saw the Dead Walking | The Forgotten Easter Mystery in the Bible

Connect With Us! What if Easter didn’t end at the empty tomb? The Bible records something most people have never heard…  The ground shakes.  The tombs open.  And the dead are seen walking in the city. It’s written plainly.  And somehow… we don’t talk about it. In this episode of Sasquatch and Sourdough, we step into the quieter, stranger side of the resurrection—where the boundary between life and death doesn’t hold, and something deeper breaks into the world. – Mary mistakes Jesus for a gardener  – The sky goes dark in the middle of the day  – The temple veil tears from top to bottom  – And something happens that changes what is possible This isn’t about explaining it away. It’s about sitting with the mystery…  and recognizing that Easter may be far stranger—and far closer—than we’ve been told. 🕯️ If something in this story feels closer than you expected…  find a place this Easter. Sit. Listen. You might be surprised what you encounter. Strange stories. True faith. New Here? Hi! Ep. 53 | People Entered Fairy Rings… Then Lost Time | Real Encounters & Biblical Mystery

Connect With Us! Fairy rings in Irish fields.  Lights moving through Appalachian hollows.  Stories of lost time in the woods. For centuries people have described encounters with the fair folk — mysterious presences appearing in thin places between the natural and the unseen world. In this episode we explore real encounters drawn from folklore, modern accounts, and strange experiences recorded in the wilderness. Threaded through the stories is a quiet moment from Scripture: the mysterious blooming of Aaron’s almond staff in the wilderness — a sign of life appearing where none should be. From Ireland to Appalachia, from mushroom circles to glowing lights in the forest, we wander into the strange places where folklore, mystery, and the unseen world seem to overlap. Strange stories.
