A Lesson on Priorities

A Lesson on Priorities Series: Peter: The Education of a Disciple Pastor: David Gray Sunday School Date: 4th October 2026 Passage: Matthew 16:21-27 ------------------- What has first place in your life when your plans, feelings, and desires conflict with what God has said? Jesus set the example by making His Father’s will His priority, even when obedience meant suffering and death on the cross. Peter loved Jesus, but his own reasoning led him to resist the very plan God had already revealed. Following Christ requires us to deny ourselves, trust what God has said in His Word, and refuse to let our own desires pull us away from His will. Our priorities should reflect an eternal perspective rather than a focus on what we want from life right now. God’s will must take first place if we want to follow Him faithfully and fulfill His purpose for our lives.

Our Pattern for Service

Our Pattern for Service Pastor: Ethan Beem Sunday Morning Date: 4th October 2026 Passages: Luke 4:16-201 Peter 2:21------------------- What should serving God actually look like in the life of a Christian? Jesus gave us a pattern to follow through His own life and ministry. He made gathering with God’s people a priority, preached the gospel to those who needed Christ, and served in the power of the Holy Spirit. We have that same responsibility to take the gospel to others and depend on the Holy Spirit as we do God’s work. Our opportunity to serve and tell others about Christ will not last forever, so we need to use the time God has given us. Following Christ’s example gives us a clear pattern for how to serve God and reach others with the gospel.

A Lesson on Focus

A Lesson on Focus Series: Peter: The Education of a Disciple Pastor: Lou Gray Sunday School Date: 27th September 2026 Passage: Matthew 14:22-33 ------------------- Where does your focus go when life becomes difficult? Peter stepped out of the boat with his attention on Jesus, but fear took over when he turned his attention to the wind and waves. The same account reminds us that Jesus saw the disciples struggling in the storm, even from a distance, and He came to them in their need. Trials can challenge our faith, but they do not change who God is or remove us from His care. Instead of making decisions based on fear or circumstances, we need to keep our focus on the Lord, seek Him in prayer, and trust His direction.

Something From Nothing

Something From Nothing Pastor: Ethan Beem Sunday Morning Date: 27th September 2026 Passage: John 6:1-14 ------------------- What do you do when what you have doesn’t seem like enough? When thousands needed food, the disciples saw a problem they had no resources to solve, while a young boy simply gave Jesus what he had. Jesus took five loaves and two small fish and provided more than enough for the entire crowd. God doesn’t need us to have much before He can use us; He asks us to surrender what we have, trust Him with it, and obey what He tells us to do. The feeding of the five thousand reminds us to trust God’s provision, recognize opportunities for Him to work, and remember that Jesus is always sufficient.

A Lesson on Unbelief

A Lesson on Unbelief Series: Peter: The Education of a Disciple Pastor: Lance Naderhoff Sunday School Date: 20th September 2026 Passages: Mark 5:22-24Mark 5:35-43------------------- What do we do when what God says seems impossible from where we stand? Jairus came to Jesus believing He could heal his dying daughter, but his faith faced a greater test when word came that she had died. Jesus answered his fear with a simple command: “Be not afraid, only believe.” The people around Jairus doubted and mocked, but Jesus proved that His power was greater than the situation they could see or understand. We face the same choice between trusting our own reasoning and believing what God has said in His Word. When doubts come, we can ask God to help our unbelief and choose to trust and obey Him.

What Ought I To Do, part 2

What Ought I To Do, part 2 Pastor: Raymond Smith Sunday Morning Date: 20th September 2026 Passages: Acts 10:9-12Acts 10:34-43------------------- What do you do when God’s Word challenges something you have believed or practiced for years? Peter knew the gospel and had seen God work through his ministry, but God was still changing his thinking and teaching him to obey what He had already said. Through Peter’s encounter with Cornelius, God made it clear that He wants all people to be saved and that salvation comes the same way for everyone—by faith in Jesus Christ. Peter had to set aside his own thinking and allow God’s Word to determine what he believed and how he lived. Christians face that same choice when Scripture reveals an area where their thinking, traditions, or actions do not agree with God. Are you willing to take God at His Word and obey what He says?

What Ought We to Do?

What Ought We to Do? Pastor: Raymond Smith Sunday Morning Date: 13th September 2026 Passage: Acts 10:1-16 ------------------- Can a person be moral, religious, generous, and sincere toward God and still be lost? Cornelius was all of those things, yet he still needed to know what he ought to do to be saved. His devotion, prayers, generosity, and fear of God could not take away his sin or make him right with God. God answered his search for truth by sending Peter to tell him about Jesus Christ and the forgiveness of sins that comes through faith in Him. Salvation does not rest on being a good person or practicing religion; it rests on what Jesus Christ did for us and whether we have trusted Him as Savior. Are you trusting in Christ alone, or are you depending on something you have done?

A Lesson on Beginning

A Lesson on Beginning Series: Peter: The Education of a Disciple Pastor: Raymond Smith Sunday School Date: 6th September 2026 ------------------- What keeps us from following Christ when He calls us to obey? Peter’s life as a disciple began when Jesus called him to leave his nets and follow Him. His response required him to place Christ above his work, comfort, plans, and relationships. Every believer faces the same choice between hearing God’s Word and acting upon it. Following Christ requires faith, especially when fear, pride, or uncertainty urges us to hold back. Listen to the full message and consider what may be keeping you from taking your next step of obedience.
