#14.2 The Wheel of life: A tool for gaining a brand new perspective on life!

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the various aspects of your life and not knowing where to focus your energy? You're not alone. Many people struggle to balance their personal, professional, and emotional well-being. In this post, we will explore the Wheel of Life, a powerful coaching tool designed to help you gain perspective on your life. By the end of this article, you'll learn how to assess different areas of your life, identify areas for growth, and create a plan for improvement. Scoring Your Life To effectively use the Wheel of Life, you start by scoring each category on a scale from 0 to 10. Remember to only listen to how you feel here. Not society, not your best mate, no one else. Just you! This scoring system helps you visualize where you currently stand and where you aspire to be. For instance, if you rate your health as a 5, consider where you want it to be. Your goal might be to achieve an 8. This exercise is about empowerment; you have the ability to decide what improvements can be made in your life. The Importance of Perspective It's crucial to approach this exercise with a growth mindset. Instead of focusing solely on the gaps between your current score and your ideal score, reflect on how far you've come. Remember, everyone starts somewhere. At one point, you couldn't walk or talk, yet here you are, continuously growing and evolving. This perspective can transform how you view your progress and motivate you to address areas you'd like to improve. Creating Actionable Goals Once you've scored each area, it's time to create actionable goals to improve your scores. Utilize the SMART goal framework—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound. For example, if you scored a 4 in personal development, your goal could be to read one book related to your field each month for the next six months. Conclusion The Wheel of Life is a valuable tool for gaining insight into your life and making informed decisions about where to focus your energy. By evaluating different areas and setting actionable goals, you empower yourself to create a more balanced and fulfilling life. Remember, growth is a journey, and every step forward counts.
