The Truth In Love podcast will present God's timeless truth through the lens of His amazing love. We will do this not only through stories of people who have experienced His peace, love, strength, and wisdom through tough circumstances, but also by endeavoring to give the Bible’s answer to life’s great questions, like: Who is God, what's my purpose, who am I, how can I know God, what is heaven and hell, what is truth, and why is the Bible's truth better than my own version of truth? These are legitimate questions folks ask, and we as Christians should have the answers! God has a magnificent plan for every person. We are thrilled to be part of discovering and sharing what His Word reveals to bring hope, peace and great love into the hearts of all humanity.     Episode 112 Never Enough: When Will Our Desires Actually Satisfy Us?

    You finally get the promotion. The new car is in the driveway. The retirement plan is mapped out down to every national park you want to see. And somehow, you’re still thirsty. Why does all this never feel like enough? A lot of us assume the answer is to want less, that being all in for Christ means turning down the volume on what we really want in life and quietly missing out. But when Jesus called His followers in Matthew 16, He didn’t say “if you’re strong enough” or “if you’re good enough.” He went straight to the engine of the human heart: “If anyone desires to come after Me...” Desire isn’t the enemy. God created it. In this episode, Kimberly Faith and John Mac explore the scriptures that show what the real problem is. From Matthew 16 to Ephesians 3:20, when our thirst for things that are temporary control our life, we’re living like broken cisterns that can’t hold water. Along the way, John shares how God completely changed the retirement he had planned, and Kim tells how God showed her she was thinking way too small about the Fostering By Faith Boutique. When we put God in control of our desires, He changes what we want and need into things that truly fulfill us and last for eternity. This isn’t a prosperity message. It’s an invitation to discover what it means to trade desires for what we can never keep for desires for what we can never lose.

    Episode 111: Giving Up Control: 15-Year-Old Trenton's Story of Real Surrender

    Have you ever prayed a salvation prayer just to be safe? That's exactly what Trenton did. He grew up in church, never doubted God was real, and prayed to be saved more than once, mostly because he was scared of hell. Then at ten years old, as he headed out the door for after-school Bible club, a question hit him: how could he tell his friends about Jesus if he didn't really know Him himself? In this episode, Kimberly Faith sits down with 15-year-old Trenton for a down-to-earth conversation about what finally happened when he gave God the one thing he liked to keep for himself: Control.  If you've ever struggled to fully let go, you'll find yourself in his story. Trenton opens up about the difference between knowing about Jesus and truly surrendering to Him and why our flesh keeps fighting for control even when our salvation is secure, and how even good things (like basketball) can crowd out God's best. Leaning on Psalm 27:1, Romans 7, and Proverbs 21:23, he and Kimberly talk about guarding our words, turning setbacks into opportunities, and living for what really lasts.     Episode 110: Still Bearing Fruit: Walk Worthy of Your Calling at Every Age

    Somewhere along the way, a lot of us picked up the idea that serving God comes with a retirement date. You teach the class, lead the youth group, raise the kids, and then you step back and let the younger crowd take it from there. Lynn McLarty never got that memo. At 81, and after more than fifty years of following Jesus, she's still making spaghetti for a Friday night Bible study of twenty or more people, handing out gospel tracts, checking on friends who can't get out, and filling a little blue book with the names of people she prays for. In this special episode, Kimberly Faith sits down with her mom to talk about what Paul meant when he urged us to "walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called," and how that one calling has taken many shapes over a lifetime: wife and mother, Christian school Bible teacher, youth leader alongside her husband John, owner of a little Italian restaurant in the roughest part of town, and foster parent to about 100 children. It all starts with Ephesians 4:1, and Lynn puts it simply: our real vocation is being ambassadors for Christ. That's the title at the top, and everything else falls under it, whether you're teaching a Bible class or grabbing coffee at a drive-through. And here's the part so many of us need to hear: you don't have to be like the person next to you. God sees who you can become long before you do. As the seasons of our lives change, the assignment will change too, but one thing is promised in Psalm 92 that the righteous will still bear fruit in old age. God isn't finished with us at any age. When we surrender every part of our lives to Him, He opens our eyes to the needs all around us, and there's no retiring from that kind of calling.

    Episode 109: Can We Really Love Unconditionally?

    Have you ever wondered if you, or anyone you know, has ever really experienced unconditional love from another human? Everyone wants to be loved just for who they are, and because we are created in the image of God, there is a part of us which wants to love others that way too. But most of us keep a scorecard. You did them a favor and now you need a favor from them, but they ghosted you. Feelings are hurt and you suddenly don't want to do anything else for them. In this episode, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty ask two questions: Can we really love someone else unconditionally? And, if so, are we actually doing it? Agape love (the highest, most selfless form of love) is the gold standard. Romans 5:8, explains Christ died for us while we were still sinners. And here's the surprising part: the opposite of love isn't hate. It's selfishness. Think about Jesus in Gethsemane. His closest friends fell asleep while He suffered, then ran when the soldiers came, and yet—He still went to the cross for them. His sacrifice was bigger than their failure. From 1 Corinthians 13 to John 13:34 and Galatians 2:20, we are reminded that we can't manufacture agape love on our own. God's love can't and won't flow through our life if we haven't surrendered to Him. Love only becomes unconditional when it comes from God, and when we let Christ love through us, those around us WILL see and experience this marvelous gift of unconditional love.

    Episode 108: How to Help Someone Who is Mistaking Their Feelings for Truth

    Picture someone you love standing on a frozen lake, completely convinced the ice beneath them is solid because of how thick it feels. Meanwhile you can hear it cracking.This is the perfect image for what happens when we let our feelings serve as truth. Whether it's sexuality, gender dysphoria, a curated online identity, or even—a version of God we've reshaped around our own hurt. Our culture is bombarding us to trust how we feel over what's actually true, and it's causing anxiety on an unprecedented scale.  So how do we, as born again believers lovingly help those who are substituting feelings for truth? We must follow the example of Jesus! When He met the woman at the well (John 4:16-26), he told her the truth about her life without shaming her and then gave her the ultimate solution—Himself. The truth is often hard to hear. Romans 1:19-25 gives us warnings about a culture that trades truth for feelings. We must give them the truth in love. This episode is full of practical wisdom for helping those who are trading truth for feelings. We want to be able to lead each one to sing with us: “On Christ the solid Rock I stand—all other ground is sinking sand!”

    Episode 107: The Widow's Mite: Why Jesus Said She Gave More

    We've all done it. Told ourselves we're "giving God our all" while keeping a few rooms off limits to God.  In the Bible, we’re told about the widow's mite in Mark 12:41-44 and what we learn is a compelling lesson. Jesus wasn’t measuring what the widow gave; rather He measured the gap between what she had and what she gave. Wow—now God’s meddling, right? In this episode, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty take a look at the Bible, specifically in Mark 12:30, and 2 Corinthians 8 which tells us  what "all" actually means and why we keep redefining it in our own favor. Examining not what we give, but what we hold back. Refusing to play judge, jury, and defendant in our own case for why we're "enough." Praying "search me, oh God" and actually meaning it. Letting surrender come before the giving, not after. This one is honest, personal, and a good reminder that we find God's best blessings when we give up what we're still holding onto.

    Episode 106: The Anger Algorithm: Reclaiming Your Peace

    We've all felt it, that pull to keep scrolling even when it's making us miserable and even angry. There's a reason for it. It's called the anger algorithm, and the research behind it is eye popping. A Yale study tracked over 12 million tweets and found that outrage gets rewarded with more likes and shares, and trains our brain to get angrier with every post. Add in a Facebook whistleblower's revelation that an angry reaction counted five times more than a like, and suddenly the hate we see makes a lot more sense. It is a system designed to profit off anger. But knowing the problem is only half the battle. In this episode, Kimberly Faith and John McLarty take a look at Proverbs, Romans, Philippians, and Galatians. All of these books of the Bible have something to say about why our flesh is drawn to outrage in the first place, and what we do to reclaim our peace. God’s Word and His presence are absolutely priceless and transformational. Born again believers possess the tools to use the mind of Christ and can allow Him transform our thinking. The world’s anger algorithms only get control—if we let it happen! This one is honest, practical, and a good reminder of the process gifts we have to shine the light of the love of Christ to a dark and angry world. We are in this world to be a light…so let’s do it!

Kimberly and John explore the biblical difference between knowledge and wisdom, drawing from Job, Proverbs, James, and the words of Jesus to show that genuine truth cannot be discovered through human intellect alone. At the heart of the conversation is a powerful truth: Wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, and real truth is found in Jesus, the Living Word. As Kimberly and John discuss how placing God on the throne in every area of our life puts us in a position to live in His truth. The proof? Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are evidence of a life lived in real truth.
