Tom Holland) vs Fright Night (2011, dir. Craig Gillespie). Same story, same names, 26 years apart: a horror-nerd kid, a vampire next door, and a TV "vampire killer" who's a total fraud. Y desde ese día, algo con los huesos rotos empieza a seguirla. Seguimos el ciclo El miedo habla español con *Huesera* (*Huesera: The Bone Woman*, 2022), el debut de la mexicana Michelle Garza Cervera, protagonizado por Natalia Solián. Es la película más premiada del mes: Tribeca, Sitges y cuatro premios Ariel, entre ellos Mejor Ópera Prima y Mejor Guion Original. Esperábamos mucho de ella. Pablo arranca sin rodeos: "La verdad, me decepcionó muchísimo". Los dos coincidimos en que Garza Cervera sabe asustar. La persona que se tira desde la ventana del frente, la mano que agarra el tobillo debajo de la cama y las manitos que rompen la cuna están entre los mejores sustos del ciclo, y para Pablo la escena del tobillo es "el temor fundamental, primordial". El problema es todo lo demás: un drama que por momentos parece telenovela, un esposo que es "un cero a la izquierda", flashbacks que no aportan y un ritual de curanderas que prometía ser *A Dark Song* y se acaba en dos minutos. "Nos vendieron humo."     1981 had two werewolf movies made by a teacher and his student, and the Academy already picked a winner. Tonight we pick again. This week on CinemaJam Versus: The Howling (1981, dir. Both came out within five months of each other, both grew out of Rick Baker's workshop, and Roger Ebert gave both of them two stars. Pablo brings the matchup; Sebastian asks the questions. Mike Mendez dirige la historia que lo envuelve todo, El viajero, con Efren Ramírez como un hombre que lleva siglos huyendo de la Santa Muerte.
