We Don't Have to Fear the Darkness, But Do We Have to Celebrate it?

Connect with me, by sending a text! Halloween is a topic that can cause quite a divide within the Church. Should Christians reject it altogether, or can we reclaim the day as an opportunity to shine the light of Jesus? How do we distinguish between personal conviction and biblical truth, and how do we make sure that our hearts are truly seeking to glorify God? In this episode, we're diving into the difficult conversation surrounding Halloween, exploring what Scripture says about darkness, holiness, discernment, and the importance of guarding our hearts and minds. Together, we'll examine the intentions behind our convictions, the dangers of becoming desensitized to the things of darkness, and the responsibility we have to be intentional about what we allow into our lives and the lives of our children.  This isn't about approaching one another as enemies on opposing sides, but as brothers and sisters in Christ who desire to honor the Lord. Whether you feel led to reject Halloween or believe you can use the day as an opportunity to shine His light, the question we must continually ask ourselves is this: Does it glorify Jesus? We don't have to live in fear of the darkness, but we don't have to celebrate it either. Let's learn how to navigate this season with discernment, stand firm in our convictions, and keep our eyes fixed on the One who is greater than it all. Grab your Bible, prepare your heart, and let's dive in together!  Ways to give to the podcast: Venmo Link https://venmo.com/u/ShekinahJoy PayPal link https://www.paypal.com/donate/?business=UKVRABLAEBJ86&no_recurring=0&item_name=Every+donation%2C+blesses+the+ministry+of+the+%E2%80%9CTo+Give+Him+Glory%E2%80%9D+podcast%2C+to+help+keep+the+podcast+running%21¤cy_code=USD Cashapp link https://cash.app/$ShekinahKline9 Support the show

Opinion, Conviction, or Biblical Truth: Discernment in the Modern Church

Connect with me, by sending a text! What does a biblical church actually look like? In this special, 2 years of the podcast anniversary episode, we're continuing our conversation about the early church, the Ekklesia, and how we can bring the heart of the early church into our modern churches today. But how do we recognize a church that is truly rooted in God's Word? How do we distinguish between personal opinions, personal convictions, and biblical truth? And how can we grow in discernment without allowing cynicism to taint our hearts toward the church? Together, we'll explore the importance of spiritual discernment, recognizing good and bad fruit, identifying the dangers of half truths, and understanding why a church rooted in God's Word must be willing to offer both encouragement and conviction. Because the church isn't meant to simply make us feel good. It's meant to point us toward Jesus, transform our hearts, and help us walk in the fullness of His truth. My prayer is that this episode brings both awareness and encouragement to your heart, equipping you to grow in discernment, remain rooted in Scripture, and recognize the beauty of a church that reflects the heart of God. Let's become more aware, more discerning, and more deeply rooted in His truth, so that we can become the Ekklesia He intended us to be. The Heart of the Early Church: Rediscovering What Church Was Meant to Be

Connect with me, by sending a text! What was the church originally meant to look like? And how can we bring the heart of the early church into the modern church today? In today’s episode, we're going back to the beginning to explore the heart of the early church, the biblical meaning of the Ekklesia, and the beautiful picture of unity we find in Acts 2. Together, we'll walk through eight characteristics of the early church, from their reverence for the Holy Spirit and devotion to God's Word to their commitment to community, passionate worship, being kingdom minded, radical generosity, and willingness to reach beyond familiar traditions. The early church wasn't perfect, but its devotion to Jesus and its Spirit led unity offer us so much to learn from today. Friends, what if we shifted our focus from simply attending church to becoming the church we were called to be? My prayer is that this episode encourages your heart, deepens your understanding of the Ekklesia, and inspires you to help cultivate a church rooted in the Word, led by the Holy Spirit, and united in the love of Christ. So grab your Bible, settle in, and let's discover the heart of the early church together. When Distraction Becomes Our Comfort: What Are We Reaching For?

Connect with me, by sending a text! I’m so excited to finally be back with you, and I’m starting this season with a conversation that is incredibly personal to me.  Lately, I’ve been having to navigate distraction in a very real way. I’ve found myself reaching for social media when I’m lonely, anxious, overwhelmed, bored, or simply don’t want to sit with what I’m feeling. And the more I prayed about it, the more I realized that this wasn’t just about having a phone in my hand, it was about what I was choosing to run to for comfort. So in this episode, we’re talking about how to give God glory even when we are navigating distraction. We’ll look at the stories of Peter, David, Samson, Mary and Martha, and Nehemiah, and what their lives can teach us about losing focus, recognizing distraction, and intentionally fixing our eyes back on Jesus. Because the goal isn’t to live a life where we never get distracted. The goal is to recognize when we’ve wandered, turn our hearts back toward God, and learn to reach for Him first. So friends, take a breath, settle in, and let’s ask ourselves a simple but important question: What are we reaching for? Don't Lose Your Wonder: Rediscovering the Awe of God

Connect with me, by sending a text! On the fourth and final week of my podcast sabbatical in between season 2 and season 3, I wanted to end the series of rereleases by sharing with you, once more, one of my own personal favorites, that just so happens to be a fan favorite as well. So allow me to reintroduce you to season 2, episode 37. Have you ever found yourself becoming so familiar with God that you've unintentionally lost your sense of wonder? In this episode, we're talking about how to give God glory by recognizing what it means to live in awe of the Lord again. Through a personal testimony, reflections from Genesis, and the truth of Scripture, we'll explore God's majesty, His holiness, His justice, and His nearness. Together, we'll be reminded that while God invites us into an intimate relationship with Him, He is also the Creator of the universe, He is also the Great I Am who is worthy of our deepest reverence and worship. My prayer is that this episode rekindles your wonder and draws you into a deeper awe of who He is.  I will see you again next week for the grand opening of season 3! The Journey of Dying to Self Daily: Old Habits Die Hard, But Grace Breaks Through

Connect with me, by sending a text! On the second week of my podcast sabbatical in between season 2 and season 3, I prayerfully picked this episode as our rerelease. So may I reintroduce you to season 1, Episode 48. I pray that it blesses you as much this time around, as it did the first time. Let’s get real, dying to self doesn’t sound fun. But what if it’s actually the key to living fully in Christ? In today’s episode, we’re talking about what it actually means to die to our flesh, how to let go of pridefulness, and how to stop finding our worth in what we do instead of who we are. In this episode, I’m sharing a very personal story that honestly changed my life and my perspective on identity. God gently but firmly unraveled my need to prove myself, and lovingly reminded me that my identity isn’t in ministry or performance, but in simply being His daughter. If you’ve ever felt the pull between who you used to be and who you’re becoming in Christ, this one’s for you. We’ll explore what Scripture says about dying to our flesh, how to unlearn old patterns, and how to give Him glory walking in the freedom of our new identity. This episode is for anyone who’s ever felt like they had to prove themselves. (Spoiler alert: You don’t.) Grab a cup of coffee or get cozy, this one feels like a Bible study meets a heart to heart.  Ways to give to the podcast: Venmo Link https://venmo.com/u/ShekinahJoy PayPal link https://www.paypal.com/donate/?business=UKVRABLAEBJ86&no_recurring=0&item_name=Every+donation%2C+blesses+the+ministry+of+the+%E2%80%9CTo+Give+Him+Glory%E2%80%9D+podcast%2C+to+help+keep+the+podcast+running%21¤cy_code=USD Cashapp link https://cash.app/$ShekinahKline9 Support the show
