Houston looks like a potential contender, Detroit is showing off its depth, and several rookies are making early impressions. But how much can we learn from such a small sample? On Episode 73 of Harrison Talks Pod, I’m breaking down some of the biggest stories from the opening days of the NBA season. The Pistons Won 60 Games. Now What? | HTP 70

The Detroit Pistons just finished a 60–22 season, earned the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, won their first playoff series of the rebuild, and pushed their way into the second round before losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7. On Episode 70 of Harrison Talks Pod, we look at what that season actually proved and what Detroit needs to accomplish in 2026–27. The Pistons have already gone from 14 wins, to 44 wins, to 60 wins in just two seasons. The next step is not necessarily winning another 60 games. It is proving that Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, Ausar Thompson, and the supporting cast can succeed when opponents have seven games to prepare for them. We break down Detroit's regular-season identity, the offensive issues that appeared in the playoffs, and why the team's defense translated more successfully than its offense. We also examine the offseason additions of John Collins, Isaiah Joe, Taurean Prince, and Gary Harris, along with the departures of Tobias Harris, Isaiah Stewart, and Caris LeVert. Did Detroit make the roster better, or is the organization relying too heavily on internal development? We discuss Cade's role, Ausar's offensive development, Duren's playoff viability, the lack of an obvious second creator, and the possibility of a trade deadline move. The Eastern Conference also became more difficult this offseason, with several teams adding major talent and others expecting important players to return from injury. That makes Detroit's next season even more important. The Pistons may not need to win 60 games again, but they do need to show that last year's success was the beginning of something bigger. The Portland Trail Blazers Have a HUGE Fit Problem | HTP 67

The Portland Trail Blazers are entering the 2026-27 season in one of the most interesting positions in the NBA. After going 42-40 and making the playoffs last season, Portland showed significant improvement after the All-Star break, particularly on defense. Then the offseason completely changed the conversation. The Blazers acquired Ja Morant, Damian Lillard is returning, Jrue Holiday remains on the roster, and Deni Avdija is coming off a breakout season. On Episode 67 of Harrison Talks Pod, we look at Portland's 2025-26 season, why the team struggled offensively against San Antonio in the playoffs, and how Ja Morant could address that weakness. We also examine the potential fit between Morant and Damian Lillard, Deni Avdija's evolving role, and the increasingly crowded backcourt featuring Jrue Holiday, Scoot Henderson, and Shaedon Sharpe. We also break down Portland's frontcourt, including Donovan Clingan and Robert Williams III, the team's concerns with size and rebounding, Jeremy Sochan's role, and the difficult job facing new head coach Mike Nori. Finally, we look at Portland's schedule, payroll, future draft capital, and new ownership under Tom Dundon before asking the biggest question of all: 🔗 Connect with me: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/harrisonlinks SidePanel Network: https://sidepanelnetwork.my.canva.site/ 🎧 Harrison Talks Pod Real NBA analysis, breakdowns, and honest conversations about the game. 👍 If you enjoyed the episode: Like the video Comment your thoughts Subscribe for weekly NBA analysis #NBA #NBAPodcast #Basketball #NBAAnalysis #PortlandTrailBlazers #TrailBlazers #JaMorant #DamianLillard #DeniAvdija #ScootHenderson #ShaedonSharpe #DonovanClingan #JrueHoliday #NBAOffseason #WesternConference #HarrisonTalksPod

The 7 NBA Teams Stuck in Purgatory Heading Into 2026-27 | HTP 66

The NBA has contenders. It has rebuilding teams. Then there's the middle. On Episode 66 of Harrison Talks Pod, we break down seven teams entering the 2026-27 season that find themselves in NBA purgatory, competitive enough to stay relevant but still searching for the move, player, or direction that could transform them into legitimate championship contenders. We discuss why every team arrived in the middle differently, from Chicago's commitment to its young core and Sacramento's attempt to balance two timelines to New Orleans betting on internal development under a new coaching staff. We also examine why Memphis and Milwaukee are taking unconventional approaches to rebuilding, choosing to develop young talent inside competitive environments rather than embracing several years at the bottom of the standings. Finally, we look at the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns, two organizations that still expect to compete while quietly reshaping their futures through continuity, targeted roster moves, and long-term planning. Which team has the clearest path out of NBA purgatory? And which franchise could remain stuck in the middle for years to come? 🔗 Connect with me: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/harrisonlinks SidePanel Network: https://sidepanelnetwork.my.canva.site/ 🎧 Harrison Talks Pod Real NBA analysis, breakdowns, and honest conversations about the game. 👍 If you enjoyed the episode: Like the video Comment your thoughts Subscribe for weekly NBA analysis #NBA #NBAPodcast #Basketball #NBAAnalysis #ChicagoBulls #SacramentoKings #NewOrleansPelicans #MemphisGrizzlies #MilwaukeeBucks #PhoenixSuns #LAClippers #NBAOffseason #WesternConference #EasternConference #HarrisonTalksPod
