Danish Wine: Master Class by Lou Langdon of Hideaway Vingaard | Cool Climate Wine Summit Warsaw

Recorded live at the Cool Climate Wine Summit in Warsaw. Denmark sits at the northern edge of European viticulture, between 55 and 58 degrees north, and nowhere in the country is more than 50 km from the sea. It has only about 180 hectares of vines, but the area is growing fast. The wines are high in acidity and precise in fruit, shaped by cool summers and days with up to 18 hours of light. Danish winemaker Lou Langdon of Hideaway Vingaard presents five wines: sparkling, orange, barrel-aged and off-dry, mostly made from the disease-resistant Solaris and Muscaris grapes. She explains why more than half of Danish vineyards are organic, how high production costs push growers towards top quality, and how Michelin restaurants are lifting the whole industry. Dons, Denmark's first protected designation of origin, also features. Master class in English. The wines 1. Skærsøgaard Dons Cuvée Brut 2020 2. Gilleleje Vin Kammesjukker 2024 3.
