Catch up besties

**I ran into a few tech difficulties and there is about a 90 second pause right in the middle of this episode but don’t worry the rest of the episode does continue** This episode wasn’t planned. It wasn’t scripted. And it definitely wasn’t easy. After months away from the mic, I’m finally back — and this is the first episode I’ve recorded since May. In this episode, I open up honestly about my health, my diagnoses, and how life has really been behind the scenes. I talk about how I’m feeling now, what the last few months have looked like, and everything that led to my most recent hospital stay. There are things I’ve carried quietly, moments that scared me, and truths I wasn’t sure I was ready to say out loud — but this felt like the right time. Not to scare anyone. Not for sympathy. But for honesty. This episode is raw, emotional, and very real. If you’ve been dealing with illness, uncertainty, exhaustion, or feeling like your body has let you down, I hope you feel less alone listening to this. And if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been — this is my answer. Thank you for holding space for me. I’m really glad to be back.

Stigma, Judgement and Online Hate

Episode 10-get to know Asho

This is a very different episode to what I am used to! I decided to do an “get to know Asho “ style episode but from my best friend Robyn’s perspective. Robyn did out a list of questions for me to answer and also for her to answer. I’m going to be honest, this was a bit of a hard one to record as I get very emotional, it’s a quite emotional episode especially talking about our grief we have been through, those we have loved and lost and also when I realise how certain events I went through in my life affected Robyn, there is some things I didn’t realise how she felt so it got me in the feels! Haha I feel like recording this was a bit of a therapy session as I do feel better after talking about all I talked about haha maybe I do need to deal with my grief after all. You get an insight into me, my life, what I’ve been through and the beautiful amazing close bond friendship I have with my best friend. My Health Saga Episode 8

Now that my health journey is finally coming to an end after a long 18 month battle I talk in detail about everything I’ve been through the last 18 months, how I was gaslit time and time again, and how in the end to get my diagnosis I had to ask my gp to do certain tests myself which ultimately led to my diagnosis and finding out what is wrong with me.

Trauma

Today’s episode is a raw emotional deep dive into the trauma of being overweight and how that trauma has carried on into now when I’ve lost the weight. What that trauma is, how I deal with it and showing people that a weightloss journey is not just about losing weight and that is ok to have these feelings. It’s normal. My health journey / suitation

From having gallstones and having my gallbladder removed to 4 weeks later suffering with all these symptoms where I’ve been left with chronic pain for 9 months, weeks bed bound, loosing 30% of my body weight in 4 months, no appetite and not being able to poo, to now suffering with the possibility of malnutrition and no quality of life, this is what I have been going through with my health for the last 9 months.
