    This episode features the sipping of Lapsang Souchong. Watch as her spirit flows through me! Tea is a feminine spirit, but it felt weird to write "she" as Lapsang has a very male energy to it. Hmmm... I share some life updates with work, baby shower, and parenting preparations. Along with news about my membership Human Error which has slightly taken the back seat, but is in full throttle preparation mode. Summer opens up different dimensions of yourself: meet new people, more events, times of wild transformation. Spring is the opening up time; the bloom. Reflect on… where you are, who you are, and who you are on the path to become.

    Speaking of Tea... Episode 33: Purple, Stuffed Animals & Messaging

    While I sip a purple leaf white tea cake called Purple Love Bunny with of course a purple bunny on the wrapper, I sit with my stuffed animal friend Bunny and discuss the very interesting world of media. How great it is to have stuffed animal friends. Perhaps it’s to keep me grounded in my creativity and inner child magic. Well, it’s not for any purpose at all, really. I simply love her and everyone else. They’re sweet and cuddly. That’s more than I can say for most humans. Further on I discuss media, politics and business messaging. How do we really arrive at “fact” when there is so much opinion involved (especially in the relaying of news)? When figuring out our messaging, WHICH message do we think is the most descriptive? I discuss MeccaTea and how I want to present it. Well, it means something different in many different contexts. Which mood I’m in, which products and services I’m offering, which audience I am appealing to. In most cases, I just decide to be myself, because I as Rachelle Mecca am the presence behind “MeccaTea”. Authenticity is always the answer. Some more discussion on my upcoming membership called Human Error. Who it’s for, why it is becoming, and what experiences you will get from it.     The great season of love, Valentine’s Day! In this episode I meet with the lovely Marcela, MC MamaBird of the Empowered Soul podcast to talk about self-love in the context of Valentine’s Day. As they say, “You must love others before you love yourself.” But Valentines is often when we choose to externalize our love: to impress or show gratitude for a lover. Great romantic expressions, dates, gifts, chocolate, roses. Often self-love is mostly in the context of being single during this time. What if we practiced self-love as well? From a spiritual, zodiac influenced, and grounded nature, Rachelle and Marcela elaborate on new perspectives about Valentines and all expressions of love.     Speaking of Tea... Episode 30: Aquarius Time & Your Host Turns 30!

    Are you feeling the spirit of the season? It’s Aquarius time! For me, there’s 3 new years: The calendar, beginning of Aquarius, and the Chinese New Year (which in 2026 is close to the start of Pisces, which is interesting!) Also, Aquarius begins my (Rachelle’s) birthday, on January 22nd. So basically if you celebrate my birthday with me, you are also celebrating in Aquarius energy. While you’re having tea with me, remember to pause, be with yourself, be in the moment… and maybe let yourself have a little cry as I process my transition from my 20’s to my 30’s. Exciting, brand new adventures await me. A life I have been working towards will surely arrive in full bloom. Still, grief and rebirth are all parts of it. I question how far we can go to simply arrive back at who we are at the core. The journey of the beginner’s mind. Even when you’re not aware of parts of yourself, they always remain with you, welcoming you back home. A big life announcement on this episode: I’m pregnant!     Dong ding is back in the house!Not to be confused with “ding dong is anyone home?” Your author, coach and tea connoisseur host Rachelle is exploring Dong Ding oolong from Formsa (Taiwanese). This one, exceptionally roasty! It’s been a long time since I’ve had some, so I ended up having it 3 times this day… you’ll hear how that went down! During this episode, we explore the five senses when it comes to tea. How they are experienced in gongfu cha or a ceremonial setting, verses when tea comes in tea bags. Let’s just say, the bags is a restricted and less intimate experience than loose leaf tea using traditional tea ware. Haiku moment. Well, why don’t I write my favourite version of it:little cup of teasitting balanced on my kneesmells of roasted leaf Then take some time to describe what works in it, and why other versions weren’t my favourite.     What an exciting and spiritual time. Samhain and Halloween is just days away. How are you spending it? During this episode I discussed what it means to me to celebrate Samhain traditionally with ritual going on my third year now. It is such a powerful time of year, the thinning of the veil. Two years ago, my spirit guide, who was somebody who had died two years previous, Jesse McPhee, came through. We have been connected since.Additionally, I discuss how in North America, people of all ages love to celebrate Halloween. Kids go trick-or-treating, teenagers dress up to party because they’re sad they are too old for going door to door, adults party, and others are excited that they have kids they can use as an excuse to go out again!I drink here a rare Japanese green tea called Goishi Cha. “Game of Fruit” - the tea is double fermented and formed in square chunks to resemble pieces from the game “Go”. Beautiful fruity notes come through this one. Another very exciting thing is that I am opening up spaces to teach gongfu cha, or tea ceremony. Many people are looking to understand why I am so passionate about this craft. They want to know more and I am honouring this by beginning to open up space to teach new devotees about our beloved leaf! Interested?     Speaking of Tea... Episode 27: The Tea Artist and Beer Poetry

    Welcome back to the Speaking of Tea… podcast where we talk about all things tea, poetry, and the lifestyle surrounding the two. Today’s episode concerns the little things that make up the tea experience. Or rather, the many elements combined that make for a good tea session: a new handcrafted tea tray, crackle glaze in teapots, gong dao bei, staining things with tea, and what I do with old puerh cakes to preserve the art and display them! On note of the tea cakes, I also explore the animal zodiacs… which now I do through tea! Each year, the newly produced tea cakes have art of the animal for the year, which is how I’ve been learning the wheel: associating them with what came out that year! Poetry is read. As usual. One that, upon review of this podcast, I named “Sands of an Hourglass” as I had that imagery when I closed my eyes and listened to the track. Do you get that? Then I read “Upon A Hard Day’s Light”- a poem inspired by beer. How fun! We talk about the question of perception and presence. Of a sense of searching and whether reward does come from direct action or… from emptiness? And the big question I ask of you, “is your void fun?” Of course this is in relation to My Poetry Era: poetry contest!Want to enter?
