    83. The Fruit of the Spirit | Forbearance or Patience

Send us your thoughts through Fan Mail What does it really mean to be patient? In this episode of Healthy & Redeemed, we continue our Fruit of the Spirit series by exploring forbearance, often translated as patience. This kind of patience is more than simply waiting—it is a steady, Spirit-produced ability to remain slow to anger, respond with restraint, and bear with others even in difficult moments. We will look at the biblical meaning of patience and explore the difference between self-produced patience and the kind of forbearance that only the Holy Spirit can form in us. Patience is not something you have to force—it is something God grows in you. Podcast Series Introduction: Fruit of the Spirit | What is it? 81. The Fruit of the Spirit | Joy

Send us your thoughts through Fan Mail In this episode of Healthy & Redeemed, we continue our Fruit of the Spirit series by exploring what the Bible really means by joy. Unlike happiness, which depends on circumstances, biblical joy is a steady, Spirit-produced reality rooted in God’s grace and presence. Drawing from Galatians 5 and John 15, we look at how joy flows from abiding in Christ, how we are both given joy and called to rejoice, and how joy can remain present even in seasons of sorrow. This episode offers a simple, grounded perspective: joy is not something we create—it’s something we experience as we stay connected to the true source, - Jesus Christ. 80. The Fruit of the Spirit | Love

Send us your thoughts through Fan Mail What does it really mean to love? In this episode, we explore agapē—the selfless, sacrificial love described in Galatians 5:22. Unlike the world’s definition of love as a feeling, this kind of love is produced by the Holy Spirit as we remain in Christ. You’ll learn the difference between Spirit-produced love and effort-produced love,  and how to walk in love practically using a simple framework: Pause, Ponder, Pray, and Participate. If loving others feels hard or exhausting, this episode will help you shift from striving in your own strength to abiding in Christ—where true love begins. 79. The Fruit of the Spirit | What is it?

Send us your thoughts through Fan Mail Have you ever looked at the list of the fruit of the Spirit and turned it into a personal improvement checklist?  In this episode, we lay the foundation for our new series on the Fruit of the Spirit.  We explore Galatians 5:22-23 and John 15 to understand what biblical abiding really means, the difference between the fruit and gifts of the Spirit, and why striving harder is not the answer. We also tackle the tension between God's grace and our obedience — and why getting that order right changes everything. Whether you are new to faith or have been walking with Jesus for years, this episode will help you understand your role as the branch connected to the True Vine. You do not have to force what only God can produce — but you are called to remain where that growth happens. 78. Easter Scripture Reading: John 18–20 | The Death and Resurrection of Jesus

Send us your thoughts through Fan Mail In this special Easter episode, we read the account of Jesus’ betrayal, crucifixion, and resurrection from John, chapters 18–20.  Let's take time to reflect on the truth of what Jesus Christ has done and what it means for your life. The episode closes with a moving rendition of “Were You There," an old hymn sung by a talented young lady, Kaylah T.  (at minute 20:43). This song is a traditional African American spiritual that originated among enslaved people in the United States. These songs were born out of suffering, yet expressed deep faith in God and a longing for Him, using music to tell the story of Christ and the hope only He can give.  To learn more about JESUS and how you can have a relationship with Him:   How to Be Saved Steps to Peace with God Email me:  Info@writtenbyhealey.com Support the show Get Healey's Books:   Changing Your Feelings - A Workbook for Anxiety and Worry   The Red Ball, A Story of Friendship and Forgiveness The Companion Activity Book for The Red Ball The Worried Little Goat _______________________________ For free Mental Health Resources:  Create an account on my website for unlimited resource access!  Click here to support the show *This podcast is for informational and educational purposes only.  I approach scripture through the lens of a Christian licensed counselor, combining biblical insight with clinical understanding of emotional health.  It does not constitute professional advice or is intended to diagnose/treat any disorders and does not constitute a client-therapist relationship.    *Any links to specific resources or content (outside of my own) are not an endorsement of the entire website, author, organization, etc.  Their views may not represent my own.
