    89. The Fruit of the Spirit | Self Control

Send us your thoughts through Fan Mail Is self-control really just about willpower — or is there something deeper?  In this final episode of our Fruit of the Spirit series, we dive into egkrateia, the Greek word behind "self-control" in Galatians 5:23, and discover why biblical self-control is so much more than gritting your teeth and trying harder. We explore the difference between self-produced and Spirit-produced self-control, why the world's approach to discipline leaves us exhausted and ashamed, and how the Holy Spirit offers a better way — one rooted in identity, grace, and genuine transformation. We'll also look at key passages from Galatians, Proverbs, 2 Peter, and 1 Corinthians, and examine how growing in self-control impacts your mental health, your relationships, and your spiritual life. 87. The Fruit of the Spirit | Faithfulness Part 2

Send us your thoughts through Fan Mail  In this episode, we pick up where we left off and ask the question — what does God's faithfulness actually produce in us?   This is Part 2. We explore the difference between self-produced faithfulness and Spirit-produced faithfulness, and why one will only take you so far.  We also look at the real tension between faithfulness as a fruit of the Spirit and faithfulness as something we are called to walk out. And we spend some time on the mental and emotional health benefits of both trusting in God's faithfulness and becoming faithful people ourselves.  We hope this episode brings some practical encouragement to your everyday life. 86. The Fruit of the Spirit | Faithfulness Part 1 - The Faithfulness of God

Send us your thoughts through Fan Mail  In this episode, we continue our series on the Fruit of the Spirit and dig into one of the most grounding truths in all of Scripture — the faithfulness of God. This is Part 1. Before we can walk out faithfulness in our own lives, we need to understand what it means that God Himself is completely and perfectly faithful. We explore the Greek word pistis and the rich Hebrew words emet, emunah, and hesed, and what they reveal about God's character.  We spend time in the Psalms, in Lamentations, and in the New Testament seeing how God's faithfulness shows up across the whole story of Scripture. We hope this episode encourages you and grounds you. Previous Episodes on Trust and Faith: 26.  What is Trust?   38.  Becoming Trustworthy 18. 83. The Fruit of the Spirit | Forbearance or Patience

Send us your thoughts through Fan Mail What does it really mean to be patient? In this episode of Healthy & Redeemed, we continue our Fruit of the Spirit series by exploring forbearance, often translated as patience. This kind of patience is more than simply waiting—it is a steady, Spirit-produced ability to remain slow to anger, respond with restraint, and bear with others even in difficult moments. We will look at the biblical meaning of patience and explore the difference between self-produced patience and the kind of forbearance that only the Holy Spirit can form in us. Patience is not something you have to force—it is something God grows in you. Podcast Series Introduction: Fruit of the Spirit | What is it?
