    e95 Sabbath Invitation: Silence

Show Notese95 Sabbath Invitation: Silence In the final episode of the Sabbath series, we return to the woman Jesus healed and examine what happened after the miracle. When the religious leaders challenged Jesus' decision to heal on the Sabbath, Jesus reminded them that compassion and freedom were always at the heart of God's law. Through this passage, we discover that Jesus not only heals the woman—He restores her identity by calling her a "daughter of Abraham." Her healing was not just about what was removed from her life; it was about who she was always meant to be. We also learn that sometimes the best response is silence. When God has transformed our lives, we do not always have to defend, explain, or convince others. The evidence of God's work can be seen through the freedom, joy, and transformation He creates in us. Opening Prayer Gracious God, we come today asking for the wisdom to trust Your work in our lives. When others misunderstand us, remind us that You know the truth. When others question our freedom, remind us that You are the One who set us free. Help us rest in the identity You have given us, and trust that the work You begin in us. Will speak for itself. In Jesus' name, amen. Key Takeaways Through the woman's Sabbath encounter with Jesus, we learn: Jesus does not just remove our burdens; He restores our identity.God sees people differently than we often do. Where others saw a problem, Jesus saw a daughter. The rules of religion can never replace the love and mercy of God.We do not always have to defend what God has done in our lives. Sometimes our transformed lives speak for themselves. When we recognize the presence and power of Jesus, the proper response is joy. As we close this Sabbath series, may we remember: Jesus still sees us, speaks to us, touches us, and sets us free. e94 Sabbath Invitation: Response

Show NotesThis month we are in a series called Sabbath Invitation. We will be looking at Sabbath through the story of the crippled woman found in Luke 13:10-17. This week, our Sabbath invitation is Response. Breath Prayer Inhale: Jesus we thank you Exhale: For being our Healer Opening Prayer Gracious God, we come today asking for hearts that recognize Your presence. Keep us from becoming so attached to our own plans that we miss Your perfect timing. Turn our eyes toward Jesus, the One who still sees, still speaks, still touches, and still heals. May our response to Your work always be worship. In Jesus' name, amen. Text "Immediately she straightened up and praised God. Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, 'There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.'" (Luke 13:13b–14) Key Takeaways The same miracle produced two very different responses. The woman praised God, while the synagogue leader protested.God's timing does not have to fit our expectations. Jesus healed when He chose, reminding us that His timeline is always better than our own. When we keep our eyes on rules, opinions, or traditions, we can miss the Healer standing right in front of us.Not everyone will celebrate what God is doing in our lives. Our responsibility is not to please everyone, but to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.A life transformed by Christ should respond with gratitude, worship, and praise. e93 Sabbath Invitation: Connection

Show NotesThis month we are in a series called Sabbath Invitation. We will be looking at Sabbath through the story of the crippled woman found in Luke 13:10-17. This week, our Sabbath invitation is Connection. Breath Prayer Inhale: Jesus we thank you Exhale: For seeing us Opening Prayer Gracious God, We come today asking to be seen Not for what we have done Or what we have failed to do But because you already see us Through the eyes of love Speak to us Touch us And make us whole In Jesus' name, Amen. Text When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, "Woman, you are set free from your infirmity." Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. —Luke 13:12-13 Key Takeaways Through the crippled woman's story we learn: Jesus saw her, even though nothing in the text suggests she saw him first. Jesus spoke to her, and his word broke her stronghold. Jesus touched her, and his touch healed her body. She may not have known Jesus was even there. But he saw her. And when Jesus sees us, everything changes. No matter what stronghold we carry, God sees us one way — through the eyes of love.
