Episode 29: Redbeard's Pirates

🏴‍☠️ Ahoy, mateys! Welcome to Episode 29 of the Three Hamster Boys Podcast! 🍺 This time, we're setting sail into the world of pirate media while tasting three beers from Redbeard Brewing Company in Staunton, Virginia. We were pleasantly surprised by Redbeard's selection and picked three dark, rich beers that were right up our alley—with no IPA in sight! 🍻 Our Redbeard Brewing lineup: Watson — an English-style barley wine aged in rye whiskey barrels, bringing rich malt, caramel, and whiskey-like flavors.221B Baker Brown — a classic brown ale with smooth, easy-drinking English pub character.Gizmo — a rye Schwarzbier that brings dark color, malt, roasted notes, and a surprisingly crisp finish.🏴‍☠️ Then we dive into pirate media! The Three Hamster Boys discuss everything from classic family-friendly pirate movies to video games, anime, musicals, and nostalgic MMOs. The conversation includes: ⚓ Blackbeard's Ghost🏝️ Sea of Thieves🎭 The Pirates of Penzance🦜 Muppet Treasure Island🔫 Black Lagoon⚔️ Pirate101🏴‍☠️ Pirates of the Caribbean☠️ One Piece🌊 Our Flag Means Death Along the way, we also share pirate trivia, talk about the romanticized image of pirates, discuss historical pirates that rarely get the spotlight, and—because this is the Three Hamster Boys—we somehow work submarines, British submarine pubs, and "submarine pirates" into the conversation. And before we sail off into the sunset, we reveal which Redbeard beers each of us preferred. Jeff went with the Watson, while Nick and Alexander both gravitated toward the Gizmo. If you've visited Redbeard Brewing, let us know which beer is your favorite! And if you enjoy the podcast, don't forget to like, subscribe, and leave a comment. 🏴‍☠️ Grab a drink, climb aboard, and join the Three Hamster Boys for Episode 29: Redbeard's Pirates! #ThreeHamsterBoys #RedbeardsBrewing #RedbeardsPirates #PirateMedia #BeerTasting #CraftBeer #VirginiaBeer #StauntonVirginia #SeaOfThieves #OnePiece #Pirates #Podcast #BeerPodcast #Anime #VideoGames

Episode 27: Hilltop Bootleggers

In this episode of the Three Hamster Boys Podcast, brothers Alexander and Nick, along with their dad Jeff ("Jeff the dad"), sip their way through moonshine cocktails made with Hilltop Distillery's blackberry moonshine (from Goochland County, VA) while debating the most iconic cars in movie and TV history. Across three drink-and-talk segments, they mix a peanut-butter-whiskey "PB&J" shot, a blackberry lemonade, and a pineapple-chili "Southern Spice" cocktail — rating each along the way — while covering car picks ranging from the Flintstones' foot-powered stone car and the Magic School Bus, to the 1966 Adam West Batmobile, the Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo, Herbie the Love Bug, Stephen King's Christine, the anime racer Redline, the DeLorean from Back to the Future, and the Regalia from Final Fantasy XV. It's a laid-back mix of local spirits tasting and nostalgic pop-culture debate, with genuine father-son banter throughout.
