    Hatchet

It was like a dirty secret. Victor Crowley was born horribly disfigured. Join PJ and Derek as they take a haunted boat tour through the Louisiana swamps of Adam Green’s Hatchet (2006). In this episode the guys discuss the gloriously gory throwback to old-school slasher cinema with its mix of outrageous practical effects, gruesome kills, dark humor, eccentric characters, and an unapologetic love for the genre. A film that gives us the bloody beginnings of one of modern horror’s most recognizable killers. 📺  Join us on Third Channel Patreon to support the show and gain access to bonus content! The Lords of Salem

All hail Unholy Father. Make your presence known this night. Join PJ and Derek as they explore Rob Zombie’s atmospheric departure from his earlier grindhouse-inspired films in The Lords of Salem (2012). In this episode the guys descend into the film’s disturbing blend of witchcraft, religious horror, psychedelic imagery, and slow-burning supernatural terror full of unsettling symbolism, shocking imagery, an eerie soundscape, and its deeply divisive ending that makes it such a strange, haunting entry in modern horror. 📺 Join us on Third Channel Patreon to support the show and gain access to bonus content! 3 From Hell

This is my death factory and you are the product. Join PJ and Derek as they take one last bloody road trip with the Firefly family in Rob Zombie’s 3 From Hell (2019). In this episode the guys slam in the back of their Dragula to talk about the film’s brutal violence, savage kills, sleazy grindhouse style, twisted sense of humor, and the unforgettable performances as Otis and Baby return for another murderous rampage which begs the question of whether this delivers a satisfying conclusion to one of modern horror’s most notorious families. 📺 Join us on Third Channel Patreon to support the show and gain access to bonus content! The Devil’s Rejects

I am the Devil and I am here to do the Devil’s work. Join PJ and Derek as they leave the Firefly farmhouse for a bloody run from the law in Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects (2005). In this episode the guys burn through the witches to breakdown the film’s savage blend of horror, crime, and Southern Gothic sleaze, from its unapologetically mean-spirited family mayhem, relentless brutality, grimy exploitation aesthetics, and the uncomfortable question of whether a movie can make monsters its protagonists without asking us to root for them. 📺 Join us on Third Channel Patreon to support the show and gain access to bonus content! House of 1000 Corpses

Howdy Folks! You like blood? Violence? Freaks of nature? Well then, come on down to Captain Spaulding's Museum of Monsters and Mad-Men. Join PJ and Derek as they descend into the deranged world of the Firefly family in Rob Zombie’s love letter to ’70s exploitation cinema, House of 1000 Corpses (2003). In this episode the guys dig through the ditches to discuss the film’s savage blend of grindhouse sleaze, psychedelic imagery, black comedy, and unapologetic brutality, plus its infamous production history, including the long road it took to finally reach audiences. 📺 Join us on Third Channel Patreon to support the show and gain access to bonus content! Tourist Trap

My brother always makes me wear this stupid mask. Join PJ and Derek as they take a detour to the wonderfully bizarre roadside attraction of David Schmoeller’s Tourist Trap (1979). In this episode the guys explore the film’s uncanny atmosphere, its unsettling use of mannequins and telekinesis, the oddball performances, and the strange space it occupies somewhere between slasher, supernatural horror, and fever dream, and why its particular brand of weirdness has earned it a devoted cult following decades after its release. 📺 Please vote daily for Third Channel Podcast as Best Podcast for Best of the Bay 2026! https://vote.cltampa.com/entertainment/best-podcast Please vote daily for FLYY GUY TY as Best Hip-Hop Act for Best of the Bay 2026! https://vote.cltampa.com/entertainment/best-hip-hop-act Join us on Third Channel Patreon to support the show and gain access to bonus content! Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

Fifty years I’ve been waiting for this night, just to see him again. Join PJ and Derek as they head to Harlow, Texas to see where Leatherface has been hiding the past 5 decades in David Blue Garcia’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022). In this episode the guys discuss the film’s brutal set pieces, gruesome kills, and its muddy attempts to mix modern social commentary with old-school slasher mayhem. Even the return of final girl Sally Hardesty for an “ultimate showdown” leaves this legacy sequel feeling more hack than slasher. 📺 Please vote daily for Third Channel Podcast as Best Podcast for Best of the Bay 2026! https://vote.cltampa.com/entertainment/best-podcast Please vote daily for FLYY GUY TY as Best Hip-Hop Act for Best of the Bay 2026! https://vote.cltampa.com/entertainment/best-hip-hop-act Check out Tim’s artwork on his Instagram or Gretchen’s artwork on her Instagram and check out their Marvelous Adventures on YouTube. Leatherface

You messed with the wrong family. Join PJ and Derek as they explore the twisted origins of the Sawyer household in Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury’s Leatherface (2017). In this episode the guys talk about the film’s divisive reception, its place within the franchise, through its savage violence, bleak atmosphere, fractured timeline, and its surprising attempt to paint a tragic portrait of the young man destined to become one of horror’s most infamous killers. Does its grimy European-horror sensibilities make it an underrated prequel or just another bloody misfire? 📺 Please vote daily for Third Channel Podcast as Best Podcast for Best of the Bay 2026! https://vote.cltampa.com/entertainment/best-podcast Please vote daily for FLYY GUY TY as Best Hip-Hop Act for Best of the Bay 2026! https://vote.cltampa.com/entertainment/best-hip-hop-act Join us on Third Channel Patreon to support the show and gain access to bonus content!
