At The Movies: Tangled - Archie Callahan

August 16, 2026 Clip 1: Rapunzel's Tower Clip 2: I See The Light Clip 3: Restored Truth Clip 4: Reunited Restored by Truth: Reclaiming Your Identity in Christ This sermon explores how the enemy works to steal, distort, and conceal the God-given identity of believers through lies, manipulation, and fear. Drawing on the story of Rapunzel from the film Tangled as an extended illustration, Pastor Archie demonstrates how deception can trap people in a false understanding of who they are, keeping them from living in the freedom and purpose God intended. Just as Rapunzel was always the daughter of a king but was kept from that truth by a manipulative captor, believers are children of God who can be blinded to that reality by the lies of the enemy. The sermon emphasizes that the light of God's Word exposes lies, renews the mind, and restores identity. Salvation through Christ is presented as the doorway into true identity, and the congregation is invited to receive freedom from fear, shame, and false labels by embracing the truth of who God says they are. Key Points:- The enemy operates as a liar and manipulator who seeks to steal identity, kill hope, and destroy the future of believers- Lies often sound protective or reasonable, which is what makes them effective tools of bondage- Believing a lie empowers the liar, while knowing the truth brings freedom- Light is a biblical metaphor for revelation, truth, and understanding, while darkness represents ignorance and deception- God's truth does not create a believer's worth or identity but reveals what grace has already established in Christ- The enemy cannot erase what God has declared over a life, but he will attempt to conceal it through fear, shame, pain, and the words of others- Renewing the mind is essential to walking in the identity God has given believers- Salvation is a free gift received by grace, not earned by effort- Forgiveness of others is part of the process of breaking free from the enemy's hold Scripture Reference:- John 10:10, where Jesus contrasts the thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy with his own purpose of giving abundant life- John 8:44, where Jesus identifies the devil as a liar and the father of lies- 1 Peter 5:8-9, which calls believers to be alert because the enemy prowls like a roaring lion, and to resist him by standing firm in faith- Romans 8:14-16, which describes believers as adopted children of God who cry out to him as Father- 2 Corinthians 5:17, which declares that anyone in Christ is a new creation- Ephesians 4:23-24, which calls believers to be made new in the attitude of their minds and to put on the new self- Ephesians 5:8, which reminds believers they were once darkness but are now light in the Lord- 1 Peter 2:9, which describes believers as a chosen people, a royal priesthood, and God's special possession called out of darkness into his marvelous light- 1 John 1:5-7, which declares that God is light and that walking in the light brings fellowship and purification through the blood of Jesus Stories:- The film Tangled is used as the primary illustrative narrative throughout the sermon. Rapunzel, the daughter of a king and queen, is stolen as an infant by Mother Gothel, who uses Rapunzel's magical hair for her own benefit and raises her in a tower under a false identity. Gothel employs fear, guilt, mockery, and manipulation to keep Rapunzel isolated and dependent. When Rapunzel eventually encounters the truth about her origins, the lies lose their power, her identity is restored, and she is reunited with her true family. This story is used to illustrate how the enemy conceals believers' true identity in Christ through deception, and how the light of God's truth restores what was always theirs. #YouAreGodsCHild #IdentityInChrist #KnowTheTruth #BridgeChurch #SetFree #KnowYourIdentity #TruthSetsYouFree #ChildOfTheKing #LightInTheDarkness #BridgeChurch ★ Support this podcast ★

At The Movies: Gladiator - Archie Callahan

August 9, 2026 https://Marcus and Maximus Talk Rome and Home https://My Name is Maximus https://Now We Are Free What's Done in Time Echoes in Eternity Drawing from the film Gladiator, Pastor Archie Callahan challenges believers to shift their focus from present-day living to an eternal perspective. Using the character of Maximus as a parallel, the sermon explores three interconnected themes: the importance of allegiance to God as King, the necessity of understanding one's true identity in Christ, and the call to live with eternity in view. Pastor Archie argues that most people live as though this present life is all that matters, yet followers of Christ are called to a higher purpose -- to serve God's design in their generation, just as King David did, so that their lives create an echo that reverberates into eternity. The sermon closes with an invitation to receive the forgiveness of sins and commit to maximizing one's life for the glory of God. Key Points:- Every believer must determine where their allegiance lies, because the king you choose determines your identity- David serves as a biblical model of someone who fulfilled the purpose of God in his generation by keeping his allegiance fully devoted to God- True identity in Christ cannot be defined by past failures, labels from others, or present circumstances -- believers are chosen, royal, and beloved- God has placed eternity in the hearts of all people, and nothing but God can satisfy that eternal thirst- The decisions believers make about purity, forgiveness, courage, and sacrifice carry eternal weight- Living for self-gratification and present comfort diminishes the eternal impact of one's life- Receiving the free gift of salvation through Christ is the foundation for both eternal readiness and a maximized present life Scripture Reference:- Acts 13:36 -- describes how David fulfilled the purpose of God in his own generation before he died- Acts 5 -- the apostles are arrested for preaching in Jesus' name and declare that they must obey God rather than human authority- 1 Peter 2:9 -- describes believers as a royal priesthood and God's special possession, called out of darkness into light- Ephesians 1 -- speaks of believers being chosen, redeemed, and sealed by the Holy Spirit- 2 Corinthians 5:17 -- describes anyone in Christ as a new creation, with the old having passed away- Revelation 21 -- describes the coming renewal of all things, where God wipes away every tear and removes death, mourning, and pain- Hebrews 11 -- highlights the faith of those who longed for a heavenly home and a better country- Ecclesiastes -- Solomon reflects on God placing eternity in the human heart- Hebrews 11:6 -- affirms that God rewards those who diligently seek him- John 3:16 -- summarizes the gospel: God gave his Son so that all who believe will not perish but have eternal life- 1 John 1 -- referenced during worship, noting that the blood of Jesus purifies believers from all sin - The character of Maximus from the film Gladiator, who moves from soldier to slave to gladiator to hero, and who lives not for the present but for a hope beyond the arena -- used throughout the sermon as a parallel to the Christian life of identity, allegiance, and eternal perspective #LiveForEternity #BridgeChurch #KnowYourIdentity #Acts1336 #WhatsDoneInTimeEchoesInEternity #LivingForEternity #WhatsDoneInTime #GloryToGod ★ Support this podcast ★

How Serving Actually Serves You - Archie Callahan

August 2, 2026 In a world more digitally connected than ever, genuine human relationships are increasingly rare. Drawing from Ephesians 4:11-16, the Pastor Archie Callahan challenges the congregation to move beyond the illusion of social media connectivity and into authentic, life-giving community within the body of Christ. Using the metaphor of a physical body held together by ligaments and joints, the sermon argues that the health and growth of the church depends not on prominent leaders or large budgets, but on every member fulfilling their role through service and relational connection. Serving others is presented as the pathway to finding your people, discovering your purpose, and making an eternal difference. The sermon calls believers to move from passively attending church to actively being the church through meaningful service, small groups, and team participation. Key Points:- Despite unprecedented digital connectivity, this generation is the most relationally disconnected in human history, with loneliness declared a public health epidemic- The body of Christ is held together not by big-name leaders or large budgets, but by the relational connections between individual members, much like ligaments hold bones together- Serving others helps you find your people, as God designed human beings for community rather than isolation- Serving reveals hidden gifts and builds relationships that clarify your calling and purpose- Your purpose is never fully realized in isolation but is confirmed and developed within community- Every member of the body has a specific role to fulfill, and when that role goes unfulfilled, the entire body is weakened- The pastor's role is to equip the saints for works of service, not to perform all ministry alone- Jesus modeled servant leadership by washing feet and sharing meals, demonstrating that serving is the foundation of godly leadership- Being planted in a local church through consistent service and connection is directly tied to personal flourishing Scripture Reference:- Ephesians 4:11-16, which describes Christ giving apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip the saints for works of service, so that the whole body grows and builds itself up in love as each part does its work- Psalm 92:13, which describes those planted in the house of the Lord flourishing in the courts of God- 1 Peter 4:10, which instructs believers to use their gifts to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms- Mark 3:33-35, in which Jesus redefines family as those who do the will of the Father- Revelation 4:8 and 4:11, which describe the four living creatures declaring the holiness of God and affirming his worthiness to receive glory and honor Stories:- Pastor Archie described the collapse of the I-35 West Bridge in Minnesota, noting that investigators determined the failure was caused not by the large structural beams but by small connecting joints and bolts, using this as an analogy for how the church is held together by relational connections rather than prominent leaders or large facilities- Pastor Archie shared a story about his son transitioning to a new job, noting that his son found the new environment life-giving because it functioned as a team rather than isolating him, drawing a parallel to the importance of serving together in the church- Pastor Archie referenced Jesus and Zacchaeus, noting that Jesus saw a man isolated in a tree and immediately moved toward relationship and table fellowship, illustrating Jesus as someone who prioritized genuine human connection- Pastor Archie referenced a study from Open Table revealing that solo dining has increased by 23 percent, with average solo meal tickets reaching $94, using this as evidence of the growing epidemic of loneliness even in public social settings- Pastor Archie used the example of assigning household chores to his children, explaining that failing to complete a task like taking out the trash caused the whole household to suffer, drawing a direct parallel to how neglecting one's role in the church body affects the entire congregation #BridgeChurch #Ephesians4 #BuildingCommunity #YouBelong #TheChurchIsYou #BeTheChurch #ConnectedInChrist #FindYourPurpose #BridgeChurch ★ Support this podcast ★

Armed Part 4 - Tangie Callahan

July 26, 2026 Title: Advance Through Prayer Sermon Summary: In this closing message of the "Armed" series from Ephesians 6, Pastor Tangie builds on the foundation of the full armor of God by focusing on prayer as the gateway through which all other pieces of armor become effective. Drawing from Ephesians 6:17-20, she establishes that the Christian life is not a playground but a battleground, and that prayer is the believer's most powerful weapon. She walks through four distinct types of prayer — petition, agreement, faith, and intercession — demonstrating through personal testimony and scripture that prayer is not merely a spiritual discipline but an act of warfare, surrender, and exchange. She concludes with a powerful illustration of intercession as standing in the gap, connecting those in need to the God who has everything they need, and calls the congregation to return to a deeper, more consistent prayer life. Key Points:- Prayer is not just the final piece of the armor of God — it is the gateway that makes every other piece effective- The Christian life is a battleground, not a playground, and prayer is how believers fight their battles- Praying in the Spirit means praying in accordance with the Holy Spirit, through God's Word, His name, and the blood of Jesus- The prayer of petition is a specific, surrendered request that submits to God's will while presenting a particular need- The prayer of agreement is two or more believers uniting their faith for a specific outcome, with the husband-and-wife partnership being the most powerful form- The prayer of faith involves unwavering trust in a specific promise from God's Word, speaking that promise over circumstances that have not yet changed- The prayer of intercession means standing in the gap between someone in need and God, becoming a bridge that advocates on their behalf- Jesus is the ultimate intercessor who stood between a holy God and sinful humanity at the cross- Every act of prayer involves an exchange — the believer releases the burden and receives God's strength in return- Believers are called to pray but are not responsible for the outcome — that belongs to God alone Scripture Reference:- Ephesians 6:17-20, which speaks of the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit, and the call to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers- Philippians 4:6, which instructs believers not to be anxious but to present every request to God through prayer and petition with thanksgiving- Matthew 18:19-20, which establishes the prayer of agreement and the promise that where two or three gather in His name, He is present- James 5:13-15, which describes the prayer of faith offered over the sick, anointed with oil, and the promise that such prayer will bring healing- 1 Timothy 2:1-5, which urges intercession and thanksgiving for all people, pointing to Christ Jesus as the one mediator between God and humanity- Ezekiel 22:30, in which God searches for someone to stand in the gap but finds no one- Romans 8:26-27, which describes the Spirit interceding for believers with groanings that cannot be expressed in words- 2 Chronicles 20:15, which declares that the battle does not belong to the believer but to the Lord- Hebrews 11:1, which defines faith as the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen Stories:- Pastor Tangie shared how she began praying for her future spouse as a teenager, writing specific requests on an anointed handkerchief kept in her Bible, and how God answered every detail of that prayer- She described praying over her children's future spouses from the time they were young, and testified that God provided each child with a godly partner bearing biblical names- She recounted the night her newborn son Ethan was discovered to have a dangerous undetected condition, and how she and her husband stood in agreement, quoting Isaiah 53 with Ethan's name inserted into the verse, until he came home completely healed on day ten- She shared her personal battle with fear and anxiety as a young woman in ministry, and how her husband encouraged her to find and confess the promise in 2 Timothy 1:7, which ultimately broke the grip of anxiety- She described finding a mole on her leg and laying hands on it in faith, quoting the promises of healing in scripture, until the mole disappeared- She shared a moment during a recent church service when the Spirit of intercession came upon her for the current generation, overwhelming her with compassion as she watched young people worship- She used the illustration of a weighted vest to describe the believer's responsibility to pray, explaining that prayer is an exchange in which the burden is given to God and His strength is received in return, demonstrated live on stage with her future son-in-law Eli- She referenced Jehoshaphat's battle in 2 Chronicles 20, in which God told him the battle was not his but the Lord's, as a picture of releasing outcomes to God through prayer- She referenced Kathryn Kuhlman's testimony of asking God why not everyone she prayed for was healed, and receiving the answer that she was called to pray but the outcome was His sovereign responsibility- She closed by referencing the hymn "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," recalling how her grandmother sang it in a country church in North Carolina, emphasizing the peace that is forfeited when believers fail to bring everything to God in prayer ★ Support this podcast ★

The stone sank in, and Goliathstumbled and fell face down on the ground. 1 Samuel 17:50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with only a sling and a stone, forhe had no sword. 1 Samuel 17:51 Then David ran over and pulled Goliath’s sword from its sheath. Davidused it to kill him and cut off his head. GOD HAS BEEN PREPARING YOU 1 Samuel 16:6 When they arrived, Samuel took one look at Eliab and thought, “Surelythis is the lord’s anointed!” 1 Samuel 16:7 But the lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for Ihave rejected him. The lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge byoutward appearance, but the lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:11 Then Samuel asked, “Are these all the sons you have?”“There is still theyoungest,” Jesse replied. “But he’s out in the fields watching the sheep andgoats.”“Send for him at once,” Samuel said. “We will not sit down to eat until he arrives.” Hidden Places Produce Visible Results Forgotten Does Not Mean Abandoned Timing is Everything GOD's PLAN MAKES SENSE LATER 1 Samuel 17:34 But David persisted. “I have been taking care of my father’s sheep andgoats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, 1 Samuel 17:35 I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth.
