When Worship Shows Up on Your Doorstep

What if worship showed up on your doorstep?  In this episode of The Shieldmaidens, we’re joined by our friend Christina Hitchcock, founder of Knot Alone - a nonprofit with a beautiful mission: Tying love and worship together on your doorstep.  Once a month, Knot Alone brings a choir to the homes of local cancer patients, offering music, encouragement, prayer, and a reminder to patients and their families that they are not alone.  Christina shares the story of how Knot Alone began, what she has witnessed in the families they serve, the impact of simply showing up, and her dreams for where this ministry can go next.  And she tells us all about Songs of Hope - Knot Alone’s 4th annual fundraiser: a special evening featuring dinner, a silent auction, and a night of worship. If you’d like to support this ministry and attend the event, you can get your tickets below!  ❤️ LEARN MORE ABOUT KNOT ALONE: https://www.knotalone.org/  🎟️ GET TICKETS TO SONGS OF HOPE: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/songs-of-hope-4th-annual-knot-alone-worship-night-fundraiser  🎶 WATCH THE KNOT ALONE CHOIR SING AT ONE OF THE HOMES THEY SERVE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YAsWv3R43U&t=1s  We hope this conversation reminds you that ministry doesn’t always happen inside the walls of a church. I Wanted Healing. God Wanted Surrender.

What if the healing you’re asking God for isn’t the only thing He wants to give you?  In her first year away at college, Grace found herself facing a season of severe sickness and seizures that would stretch on far longer than she ever imagined. As she struggled physically, she was also wrestling spiritually - resisting the obedience God was calling her toward and struggling to surrender her own plans to His.  Grace’s story isn’t simply a story of miraculous healing. In her own words, it is “a story of reluctant obedience that is met by an ever faithful God; of severe sickness met with His sustaining grace.”  In this episode of The Shieldmaidens, Grace vulnerably shares what happened when she finally stopped fighting God’s will and fully surrendered to Him. Her story is a reminder that sometimes God’s faithfulness doesn’t look like immediately removing the trial. Sometimes His grace sustains us through it... and sometimes surrender becomes the place where we discover just how faithful He has been all along.  If you’re in a season of suffering, waiting, resisting, or wondering why God hasn’t answered your prayers the way you hoped, Grace’s testimony will challenge you to ask a different question:  What if God is asking for my surrender before He gives me the answer I’m asking for?  Subscribe to The Shieldmaidens for more honest conversations about faith, suffering, obedience, and following Jesus when life doesn’t go according to plan.  #TheShieldmaidens #ChristianTestimony #Faith #SurrenderToGod #Obedience #GodIsFaithful #ChristianPodcast  Check out our website and shop our latest merchandise here:  https://beashieldmaiden.com/  Connect with us on socials:  https://www.facebook.com/theshieldmaidens  https://www.instagram.com/theshieldmaidenspodcast/  Production by Hitchcock Visuals

I Felt Invisible, But God Saw Me: Jillian’s Story of Restoration

What happens when you spend years feeling invisible - even while surrounded by people who love Jesus?  In this powerful conversation, Jillian shares a deeply personal testimony of childhood assault, teen pregnancy, harmful secrets kept with good intentions, and the choices that followed as she struggled to find her identity and worth.  Growing up as a pastor’s kid, Jillian knew about God.  But knowing about God and truly trusting Him are not always the same thing. Behind the scenes, she carried pain, shame, secrets, and the overwhelming feeling that no one really saw her. But God did.  Even in the years when Jillian wandered, made choices she regrets, and tried to navigate life on her own, God never stopped pursuing her. And when she finally turned back toward Him, she discovered something beautiful: the God who saw her in her brokenness was also the God who could restore what had been broken.  Her story is a reminder that your pain does not make you invisible, your past does not disqualify you, and there is no place you can wander that puts you beyond the reach of God’s grace.  If you’ve ever felt unseen, buried a secret to protect someone else, wondered if your past has disqualified you, or questioned whether God could still redeem your story - Jillian’s testimony is for you.  God sees you. God pursues you. And God is still in the business of restoration.  Check out our website and shop our latest merchandise here:  https://beashieldmaiden.com/  Connect with us on socials:  https://www.facebook.com/theshieldmaidens  https://www.instagram.com/theshieldmaidenspodcast/  Production by Hitchcock Visuals

Someone Needs You to Pray | The Power of Intercession

What happens when you faithfully pray for someone else?  In this episode of The Shieldmaidens, we sit down with Mary to talk about one of the most powerful (and often overlooked) ways we can love and serve others: intercession.  Mary shares real-life stories of how she has prayed for the people around her and witnessed God move in ways she never could have orchestrated herself. We talk about what it means to stand in the gap for someone in prayer, how to know what to pray, and why our prayers matter even when we can't see what God is doing.  We also get honest about some of the reasons we hesitate to pray for others. Are we afraid we'll look foolish? Are we afraid God won't answer? Do we sometimes wonder if our prayers actually make a difference?  The truth is, God invites us to participate in what He is doing through prayer.  Whether you're praying for a child, a spouse, a friend, someone who is struggling, or even someone who doesn't know Jesus yet, this conversation will encourage you to stop underestimating the power of your prayers.  Someone needs you to pray.  📖 “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.” — 1 Timothy 2:1  If this episode encourages you, share it with someone who needs a reminder that their prayers matter.  #TheShieldmaidens #Intercession #Prayer #PrayingForOthers #ChristianWomen #PrayerWarrior #SpiritualWarfare #ChristianPodcast #Faith #Jesus  Check out our website and shop our latest merchandise here:  https://beashieldmaiden.com/  Connect with us on socials:  https://www.facebook.com/theshieldmaidens  https://www.instagram.com/theshieldmaidenspodcast/  Production by Hitchcock Visuals

The Life I Never Planned: Josh Simmons’ Story of Healing & Faith

One moment can change the course of your entire life.  Josh Simmons was pursuing his dream of becoming a pilot when a traumatic brain injury completely changed his future. Suddenly, things most of us take for granted - walking, talking, functioning independently - became things Josh had to learn all over again.  But in the middle of an unimaginable season, God began doing what only He could do.  In this powerful conversation, Josh shares the physical and mental battle of his recovery, the moments that revealed God’s miraculous healing, and what it was like to grieve the future he thought he was going to have. We talk about wrestling with God, finding purpose in unexpected places, and learning to trust Him when His plan looks nothing like our own.  Josh’s story is a powerful reminder that God can bring restoration out of devastation. And sometimes the life He has for us is different, but no less purposeful, than the one we planned.  If you’re walking through a season where your plans have been completely disrupted, we hope Josh’s story reminds you that God is still working, still healing, and still writing your story.  #TheShieldmaidens #MiraculousHealing #TraumaticBrainInjury #ChristianTestimony #Faith #GodsPlan #Healing #ChristianPodcast  Check out our website and shop our latest merchandise here:  https://beashieldmaiden.com/  Connect with us on socials:  https://www.facebook.com/theshieldmaidens  https://www.instagram.com/theshieldmaidenspodcast/  Production by Hitchcock Visuals

Losing Halee: When Grief Turned Into Anger at God

When Emilee Rathgeber lost her sister and best friend, Halee, in 2017, her world changed forever. In the middle of unimaginable grief, Emilee found herself angry at God.. and then faced another painful reality: being made to feel like she wasn’t allowed to be angry with Him.  In this deeply honest conversation, Emilee shares what it was like to grieve Halee during her senior year of high school, wrestle with the questions she couldn’t answer, and navigate the tension between faith and anger. She opens up about the things she wished people had understood about her grief and what happened when she finally stopped hiding her feelings from God.  This is a conversation about loss, anger, grief, faith, and the God who can handle our hardest questions.  If you’ve ever been hurt, disappointed, or angry with God - and wondered if that meant you weren’t trusting Him enough... Emilee’s story is a reminder that we don’t have to hide our pain from God. We can bring Him all of it.  If this conversation resonates with you, please share it with someone who may need to hear it.  For more information on the Halee Rathgeber Memorial Nursing Scholarship:  https://www.facebook.com/p/Halee-Rathgeber-Memorial-Nursing-Scholarship-100066794865046/  https://www.uealumnionline.com/s/1096/bp20/interior.aspx?sid=1096&gid=1&pgid=3316  Check out our website and shop our latest merchandise here:  https://beashieldmaiden.com/  Connect with us on socials:  https://www.facebook.com/theshieldmaidens  https://www.instagram.com/theshieldmaidenspodcast/  Production by Hitchcock Visuals

You Call It Coincidence. God Calls It Providence.

What if the things you call coincidences are actually the providence of God?  In this episode of The Shieldmaidens, we’re talking about the difference between God’s provision and His providence... and how often we look back and realize that God was working behind the scenes long before we ever saw the answer.  Sometimes His provision looks obvious. Other times, it looks like a closed door, an unexpected detour, a person He placed in our path, or an answer that came at exactly the right moment. What feels like coincidence to us may be part of a much bigger picture that only God can see.  If you’re in a season where you’re wondering “Where is God?” or “How is He going to make a way?”, this conversation is a reminder that God is not absent, late, or unaware. He is working; even when you can't see it yet.  ✨ God provides.  ✨ God sees the whole picture.  ✨ God is working behind the scenes.  ✨ And His timing is never accidental.  Join us as we talk about the moments that remind us: You call it a coincidence. God calls it providence.  If this episode encourages you, be sure to like, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs a reminder that God is still working.  #TheShieldmaidens #GodsProvision #GodsProvidence #ChristianPodcast #TrustGod #GodsTiming #Faith #ChristianWomen  Check out our website and shop our latest merchandise here:  https://beashieldmaiden.com/  Connect with us on socials:  https://www.facebook.com/theshieldmaidens  https://www.instagram.com/theshieldmaidenspodcast/  Production by Hitchcock Visuals
