Episode Chapters: (00:00) Introduction (04:40) Acknowledging Emotional Pain (10:35) Releasing Emotional Pain (19:44) Empowerment (25:55) Conclusion Words: I know I’ve been overwhelmed Confused Hurt Over and over again People hurt me Situations surrounded me I suffered In pain, parts of me were buried Parts that knew how to navigate life Feel Trust Love and enjoy this existence They were buried in pain  I felt emotions that I didn’t know how to deal with Emotions of abandonment Fear Terror Shame Betrayal I felt the weight of the expectations The pressure  Loss Or maybe the life of my ancestors got hard, which I feel the effects of  I was presented with these things Things I didn’t know how to deal with And so, I stored them Deep inside Buried at the back of my mind I stored them to survive   And right now, I understand that I feel overwhelmed and weighed down Like life isn’t worth living  Like there are so many things for me to overcome, I don’t know if I have the strength to overcome them    I see that  I see that’s how I feel And I’m going to start with where I’m at  It’s not where I want to be This may be all I know But I’m going to start with where I’m at Right here   And right here I’m starting by coming back online  Because there’s a bigger picture at play The plans that God has for me The plans for my destiny  Are bigger than the things that have come against me The things that have weighed down on me My darkest day Wasn’t my last day So, I’m coming back online Even though I’ve had moments that I’ve felt alone  And like I’ve had no one to hold me  I’m coming back online I’m opening up to being held now   The pain that I’ve felt, I open these places up  To be seen,  To be heard,  To be held now   To be held by God To be held by myself To be held in community  To be held in process   The places within me that have felt pain, I open you up   To see you now To hear you now To hold you now   And in holding you, I choose to let go of anger  Anger against myself For not standing up for me For being quiet when I should have spoken For allowing my boundaries to be crossed   I choose to let go of the anger Anger against them For abusing me when I deserve respect For abandoning me when I needed care For talking down on me when I’m extremely valuable   I choose to let go of anger Anger against it all For feeling alone when I needed someone to hold me For feeling confused when I wanted to make sense of things For feeling lost when I wanted to feel at home I choose to let go of anger   And in letting go of anger I’ve held onto for days Months Years  Decades   I turn towards coming back online    By opening my heart to hearing the hope filled plans God has for me I’m coming back online   By connecting to people who can care for me, even if I’ve never known it  I’m coming back online   By embracing the small wins I can achieve each day, even if my life feels like a mess I’m coming back online   Step by step   Surrounded by God’s grace and his ability to believe the best about me  I’m coming back online    And as I take things step by step  One win will eventually turn into a rhythm    A rhythm of hope A rhythm of love  A rhythm of peace A rhythm of joy    My life is made for rhythm    So, I’m coming back online   So that I can have what I’m made for   Because I’m made to shine I’m made to rise I’m made to overcome all that’s weighed me down   So, I’m coming back online    Even if I don’t know what the future holds I know the one who holds it can make me whole   So, I’m coming back online   Because I choose to see the story  Beginning to end  I choose to see my happy ending   I’m coming back online    I’m seen I’m known There’s someone here to hold me    So it’s safe to rise I choose to come back online
