Voices Carry For Animals Podcast #541- Wild Hoofbeats

Produced & Hosted by Debbie Dahmer aka "Mama Bear" Guest: Carol Walker -Owner at Living Images. Author, Artist, & Wild Horse Advocate. Freedom for Wild Horses Podcast - Producer & Host Topics: HELP SUPPORT The SAFE Act [H.R. 1661} & [S.775] Save America's Forgotten Equines Act of 2025. HELP SUPPORT The Wild Horse and Burro Protection Act [H.R. 4356] Wild Horse Roundups are a Gateway to Slaughter not a Necessity for Land Health Wild horses still live wild and free on our public lands in ten Western states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. These public lands are managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the Forest Service. At the time the 1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act was passed, wild horses and burros were found on 53 million acres. Now in 2018, over 22 million of these acres have been zeroed out and lost to wild horses and burros. What can you do to help? Call your Senators and Representatives: https://www.usa.gov/elected-officials and tell them you want to see wild horses and burros live out their lives on our public lands and that you do not support killing them. Livestock grazing should be reduced in Wild Horse Herd Management Areas and wild horses should be managed on the range, not rounded up and removed. And the wild horses in holding should be returned to the lands that have been taken from them. Voices Carry For Animals Podcast #540 - Born Free USA

Produced & Hosted by Debbie Dahmer aka "Mama Bear" Guest: Devan Schowe - Campaigns Manager for Born Free USA **WE REMEMBER 911 - 25th Horrific and Devastating Anniversary of a Deadly and Terrifying Attack on America and it's Citizens. 09-11-2001 Prayers go out to all the Victims families & friends whom lost their loved ones or got seriously injured. Special Thank You to All the First Responders and all the Hero Dogs whom helped save lives. We Will NEVER FORGET! May they RIP! GONE but will never be forgotten.** Topics: Series of undercover zoo investigations/the larger issue of keeping wild animals in captivity for human entertainment. Born Free USA Zoo InvestigationsThroughout 2025-2026, Born Free USA team embarked on a series of zoo investigations to address the increasingly popular belief that keeping wild animals in captivity for the purpose of human entertainment is unethical. To carry out their investigations, Born Free USA visited ten Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accredited facilities that are widely considered to excel in the fields of animal care and facilitate meaningful interactions between animals and human visitors. During each visit, Born Free USA assessed the accuracy and efficacy of each major aim stated by the zoo industry, including educating visitors about the animals, providing optimal animal welfare with appropriate physical and mental stimulation, and participating in, or leading, meaningful conservation efforts. It is our intention that by providing data from the top zoos in the U.S., Born Free USA illustrate a more accurate picture of commercial animal captivity and scrutinize what these facilities offer the animal inhabitants and human visitors. Born Free USA then argue whether zoos can justify their existence and continue to keep wild animals in captivity based on our findings. Each individual case study adds to our overall research and assessment of zoos in the U.S., which we will update in due course.
