    The Sisters Segment Kickoff

    Send us Fan Mail A women’s podcast can be light and still be meaningful, and that’s exactly the lane we’re stepping into with the Sisters Segment of Pulpit to the Pew. We’re RaJeana Frazier, Becca Brown, and Lissa Brumfield, and we start by telling you who we are, what our lives look like (pastors’ family life, teaching, homeschooling, insurance, youth ministry), and why we’re carving out a place for ladies who want faith, friendship, and fun in the same conversation. We’re officially launching a Sisters Segment so the women in our circle can bring their own stories, humour, and hard-won perspective to the mic. Brother Ryan Brown joins me, and we introduce three voices you’re going to want in your feed: my wife Lissa Brumdfield, Sister ReJeana Frazier, and Sister Becca Brown. We talk about the “why” behind the segment, the plan to release monthly on the first Friday, and what listeners can expect: honest ministry life, family life, and the kind of conversation that feels like you’re sitting at the table with us. We open with what’s been on our minds, including the way public tragedy and controversy still echoes, then we dig into why socialism keeps getting sold as the compassionate shortcut. From our perspective, the “free” promise collapses once you talk about incentives, where government money actually comes from, and what history shows when power concentrates and responsibility disappears. Then we swing hard into the world most of us live in every day: social media algorithms, doom scrolling, and the attention economy.     Labor Day And Music Memories

    Asking For Help

    Send us Fan Mail Gravy wrestling is somehow a real event, and it becomes our doorway into a much heavier conversation about the world we are living in. We start with updates from our church building push, the deadlines, and the feeling that time is flying, then we laugh our way through odd “national holidays” before things turn serious. We talk candidly about mental health, postpartum depression, and the way public stories get framed online. Postpartum depression is absolutely real, and we say that plainly, but we also wrestle with the difference between a mental break and actions that look planned. From there we zoom out to the mental health system in the United States: quick prescriptions, shaky diagnosis, side effects, and what happens when people do not have trustworthy accountability. We also touch on veterans and PTSD, and why asking for help can feel harder than suffering in silence. The most practical part of the conversation is what we see at street level: homelessness, people who truly need help, people who keep repeating the same story, and how a church tries to respond with compassion and discernment. We even discuss rehabilitation and criminal justice, including Norway’s prison model, while still being honest about consequences for serious harm. Then we end on a lighter note with another wild tradition: chasing a cheese wheel down a cliff.     We Argue About Food Because It Matters

We sit down as friends and hosts to chase a simple topic, food, into a surprisingly revealing conversation about taste, nostalgia, and the tiny preferences that make people wildly different. We bounce through fast food breakfast picks like Dunkin, Starbucks, Burger King, and the Breakfast Crunchwrap, then detour into public school cafeteria memories that include tragic hash browns, rectangle pizza, and the vending machine era. From there, it’s all snack philosophy: why the frosting border on a Pop-Tart feels like a personal insult, how people “save the best bite,” and why some foods are worth it even when they hurt. Then we go bigger and more specific: Mexican vs Chinese food, Tex-Mex tortillas, salsa and queso opinions, Chinese buffet strategy, and the strange phenomenon of feeling stuffed and hungry again an hour later.
