    Ep 26 - Required Readings

This ep comes with a list of required readings we'll expect you to have done by next week thanks. Topics include Tony Burke gaslighting you into thinking the situation in Gaza has only now turned a bit iffy, how definitions become dangerous, and how if we wanted, we could make public housing so beautiful it becomes our national pride. Australia condemns ‘indefensible’ Gaza deaths as it joins coalition of countries denouncing Israel One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This "...the discredited IHRA definition of antisemitism" "By conflating Jewish identities with the state of Israel and the political ideology of Zionism, this definition risks increasing antisemitism by suggesting that all Jews support the state of Israel, and can be held responsible for Israel’s egregious human rights abuses." The Kimberley Scheme How Chip Le Grand got his name Online hate report exposes ‘overt effort to normalise antisemitism’ Wertheim v Haddad [2025] FCA 720 How one Hobart couple is making a difference for woman at risk of homelessness Homelessness under Albanese government 'worst in living memory', peak bodies warn The Hands of the Emperor   If you have a question, comment, clarification, correction, or controversial lefty take shoot us an email at ALPDOTGOV@proton.me Celeste's Blog: Rantings of an Aboriginal Feminist Mitch's Blog: Philosophica Pingers’ and Co Blog: What is to Be Done? Ep 23 - Rough Chuckles, Again

Sometimes it's hard to spin riff-gold from grim-straw, but as the only podcast available, we feel it's our duty to soldier on. We're also dropping this at the adults-only time of 11pm, which is irrelevant for everyone because when you get a podcast has absolutely no bearing on when you'll listen to it. Should we go back to scheduled programming for podcasting? It's not just reinventing radio because our version will have AI in it. (Nb - don't let him write ep descriptions after 8pm, jesus christ). We talk about how, apparently, Zachary Rolfe was trying to get speaking engagements focused on leadership and ethical decision-making and what that means for our souls, ThE fEsTiVaL oF dAnGeRoUs IdEaS, and a relatively undiscussed conflict happening in The Middle East at the moment. Amy McQuire's excellent piece No free trips, but Black Palestinian solidarity is stronger than ever on Black Justice Journalism Tom Tanuki's latest video If you have a question, comment, clarification, correction, or controversial lefty take shoot us an email at ALPDOTGOV@proton.me Celeste's Blog: Rantings of an Aboriginal Feminist Mitch's Blog: Philosophica Pingers’ and Co Blog: What is to Be Done?
