    97. Rosie’s Story: The Ripple Effect of One Rescue

    One girl’s rescue became the beginning of something much bigger. In this episode, Deb Baliko and Rebecca Pratt share the powerful story of Rosie, a young girl in a rural West African village who was malnourished, fearful, caring for her infant sister, and enduring abuse at home. Her older sister had already been trafficked to a neighboring country. After Rebecca felt prompted to return to Rosie’s village, Orphan Relief and Rescue stepped in to help provide her with safety, education, regular meals, and ongoing support. But what happened next was unexpected. During the visit, Rebecca chose to approach the family and community with kindness rather than confrontation. That decision opened the door to a remarkable conversation with a local man involved in trafficking. After being challenged to become a “hero” by helping children return home, he agreed to help. Within just 30 days, 35 children were brought back from trafficking and reunited with their families. For $50 a month or $600 a year, you can help protect one child by providing education, two meals a day, safety monitoring, and support for their family.     96. One Girl Rescued, 100+ Children Set Free

    In this episode, Deb Baliko and Rebecca Pratt share an important update on Orphan Relief and Rescue’s Anti-Trafficking Initiative as 833 children prepare to return to school on October 1. While many children are already funded for the year ahead, 323 children are still waiting for support. Just $50 a month—or $600 for an entire year—helps provide a child with education, daily meals, and ongoing monitoring to help protect them from being trafficked or re-trafficked. Rebecca also shares the powerful story of Rose, a young girl rescued from trafficking whose story ultimately opened the door for more than 100 children from her village to be rescued and protected. Her story is a beautiful reminder that changing the life of one child can create a ripple effect across an entire community. Deb and Rebecca also discuss the role of faith, relationships, and ORR’s growing network of Community Freedom Centers, including a new center made possible by a donor who chose to honor the memory of her sons through a lasting investment in children and families.     95. When Every Family Has Trafficked At Least One Child

    Rebecca Pratt shares powerful stories from recent community meetings in West Africa, where child trafficking continues to impact entire villages. In one community, every family has trafficked at least one child. At a gathering of nearly 700 people in this brand new village, Rebecca spoke about the dangers and illegality of sending children away for work, while also sharing the hope and love of Jesus. She reflects on encounters with mothers whose children are vulnerable to trafficking—including one woman whose children had already been sent to Nigeria.     93. Turning Pain Into Purpose: Fredamine’s Story

    In this inspiring episode, we hear from Fredamine, whose life story reflects resilience, opportunity, and the power of giving back. After losing her parents in 2006 and 2008, Fredamine grew up at ORR’s orphanage safe home. With the support and stability she received there, she continued her education and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Program Development. Today, Fredamine has worked with ORR for four years, serving children and women whose experiences often remind her of her own. Her personal journey gives her a unique understanding of the challenges vulnerable children face—and a deep desire to help them find safety, opportunity, and hope. Fredamine also recently completed a master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Project Management.
