Old buildings.  Knob-and-tube wiring.  Paper-wrapped conductors.  Asbestos like it’s seasoning. The stories are funny… until they aren’t.  Brake dust in the air.  Walls ripped open chasing hot wires.  “Temporary fixes” that somehow become permanent for 40 years.
