    9.27 - 2 Corinthians 5:20 // A Messenger Who Goes Boldly

Following Jesus means carrying His message wherever we go. In 2 Corinthians 5:20, Paul reminds believers that we are Christ's ambassadors. God has chosen to make His appeal to the world through ordinary people who have been reconciled to Him. Every follower of Jesus has been called to be a messenger who goes boldly, inviting others to experience the same grace they've received. In week seven of FOLLOW, Pastor Bryan explores the fifth measure of discipleship: A Messenger Who Goes Boldly. The Great Commission in Matthew 28 points us toward God's mission, and the vision of every nation worshiping Jesus in Revelation 7 reminds us where history is headed. Between those two moments is our calling: to faithfully pursue people with the hope of the gospel.  A few anchors: Every Christian is an ambassador who represents Jesus.God chooses to make His appeal to others through His people. The message we carry is simple: Be reconciled to God.Our mission is to lovingly and boldly share the gospel with everyone who is far from Christ.Faithfulness is our responsibility. The results belong to God.  Sharing our faith doesn't require having every answer. It begins with prayer, grows through everyday conversations, and depends on the Holy Spirit to change hearts. As disciples mature, they become people who naturally point others toward Jesus. 9.20 - 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 // A Helper Who Gives Generously

Following Jesus changes more than what we believe. It changes how we use what God has entrusted to us. In 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, Paul reminds us that generosity is not about obligation or guilt. It's about trusting God. Jesus calls His followers to become helpers who give generously, offering their time, talents, and treasure with joyful hearts because everything we have ultimately belongs to Him. In week six of FOLLOW, Pastor Bryan explores the fourth measure of discipleship: A Helper Who Gives Generously.Generosity isn't about giving God our leftovers. It's about recognizing that He is our provider and faithfully stewarding everything He's placed in our hands. A few anchors: Everything we have belongs to God.God's economy is built on generosity, not scarcity.Giving begins with trust before it becomes a habit.God desires cheerful, willing generosity rather than reluctant obligation. As we faithfully steward our time, talents, and treasure, we experience God's grace and provision in deeper ways. Generosity is one of the clearest ways we reflect the heart of Jesus. As disciples grow, they become people who gladly use everything God has given them to serve others and advance His kingdom. 9.13 - John 15:12-15 // A Friend Who Loves Others

Following Jesus means more than believing the right things. It means loving people the way Jesus loves us. In John 15:12-15, Jesus gives one of His clearest commands: "Love one another as I have loved you." He doesn't simply invite us to be friendly. He calls us to sacrificial friendship that reflects His own love. Real disciples don't settle for shallow relationships. They intentionally build friendships that encourage, strengthen, and point one another toward Christ. In week five of FOLLOW, Pastor Bryan explores the third measure of discipleship: A Friend Who Loves Others. As we grow in Christ, our friendships should become deeper, more intentional, and more centered on the gospel. A few anchors: Jesus sets the standard by loving us first.Real friendship requires sacrifice, not convenience.Following Jesus means laying down our preferences for others.Friendship with Jesus shapes how we love His people.Healthy discipleship happens in authentic Christian community, not in isolation. Jesus didn't command us to admire one another from a distance. He commanded us to love one another. As we grow as disciples, we become the kind of friends who encourage, serve, forgive, and faithfully walk alongside others. 9.6 - Romans 12:1-2 // A Student Who Lives Changed

Following Jesus isn't just about learning more. It's about becoming different. In Romans 12:1-2, Paul calls believers to offer their whole lives to God as living sacrifices. Because of God's mercy, we don't pursue change to earn His love. We pursue change because we've already received it. Real disciples don't stop at studying God's Word. They allow it to shape the way they think, live, and follow Jesus. In week four of FOLLOW, Pastor Bryan unpacks the second measure of discipleship: A Student Who Lives Changed. The goal isn't simply to know the Bible better. It's to let God's truth transform us from the inside out. A few anchors: Life change begins with God's grace, not our effort.True worship is offering our whole lives to God.Following Jesus means rejecting the patterns of this world.God's Word is meant to transform us, not just inform us.Every disciple should be able to point to ways Jesus is changing their life. Studying Scripture is only the beginning. The invitation is to respond, repent, and become more like Christ every day. 8.30 - John 1:12 // A Child Who Knows God

What does it mean to really know God as your Father? In John 1:12, we see one of the clearest truths in Scripture: everyone who receives Jesus and believes in His name is given the right to become a child of God. That identity is not earned by performance, lost through failure, or based on how strong your faith feels on a given day. In week three of FOLLOW, Pastor Bryan introduces the first measure of discipleship: A Child Who Knows God.Following Jesus begins with receiving Him, but it continues as we grow in confidence, relationship, and trust with our Father. A few anchors: • There is room for everyone in God’s family. • We become God’s children by receiving and trusting Jesus. • Our identity as God’s child rests on His promise, not our performance. • Children who know God grow through Scripture, prayer, worship, and confidence in who He is. Being a disciple starts with knowing whose you are. 8.23 - Luke 14:25-35 // One Identity

What defines you? We all carry plenty of labels. Parent. Spouse. Professional. Successful. Struggling. Republican. Democrat. Addict. Athlete. But Jesus calls His disciples to something deeper and more costly: one identity that comes before every other identity. In Luke 14, Jesus turns to the crowds following Him and makes the cost of discipleship unmistakably clear. Following Jesus means choosing Him above family, possessions, personal ambitions, comfort, and even our own lives. His grace is free, but following Him will cost us everything. Jesus is not trying to talk us out of following Him. He is inviting us to count the cost and decide that He is worth it. A few anchors: • Being in the crowd does not make you a Christ follower. • Jesus must come before family, desires, possessions, and self. • Following Jesus means counting the cost before making the commitment. • A disciple has one defining identity: I am a Christ follower. 8.16 - Matthew 4:17-25 // One Call

What does it really mean to follow Jesus? When Jesus called His first disciples with the words, "Follow Me," He wasn't inviting them to add Him to an already busy life. He was calling them to leave everything behind and make Him their highest priority. His invitation wasn't to become a spectator. It was to become a disciple. In the first message of our FOLLOW series, Pastor Bryan walks through Matthew 4:17-25 and challenges us to consider whether we're truly following Jesus or simply watching from the crowd. The call of Jesus is simple, but it changes everything. A few anchors from this message: Repent, because the Kingdom of Heaven has come near. Following Jesus requires surrender, not casual admiration. Jesus calls ordinary people into His extraordinary mission. Every believer must choose between being a disciple and being a spectator. 8.9 - Psalm 24:1-10 // Who Is This King of Glory

Before we talk about what it means to follow Jesus, we need to be clear about who he is. Psalm 24 gives us a picture of the King of Glory, the Creator who owns everything, the holy Lord whose presence we cannot enter on our own, and the victorious King who makes a way for us to come near. A few anchors from the message: Everything belongs to him. The earth, our lives, our time, our resources, even the breath in our lungs belong to the Lord. Sin keeps us from God. Clean hands and a pure heart reveal a standard none of us can meet on our own. Jesus makes a way. The King of Glory has gone before us. In Christ, the presence of God is no longer out of reach. He is worthy to follow. Jesus is strong, mighty, victorious, and worthy of our full allegiance. Next week, we begin FOLLOW, an eight-week series about what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus.
