Capac Classmates Promoting Future Adults is made up of passionate Capac High School alumni who are committed to providing funding for career or college opportunities for Capac students. We finance our scholarships and other efforts through events like our annual golf tournament, and we are always looking for new ways to give back to the community we love that helped shape us. We would be honored to have you join us in investing in the future of Capac’s young people. You will find Scholarship information and how to register for the golf outing at capacclassmates.org.

Cranberry Christmas 2024: Capac Classmates Podcast (Episode 1)

Do you know that Capac was once a big harvester of Cranberries? It's true. That's the reason why community members who wanted to start a new tradition latched on to this small piece of local history to create Capac Cranberry Christmas back in 2017. In this first episode of the Capac Classmates Podcast, host and veteran journalist John Gonzalez (Capac High School Class of '83) interviews Roxann Mills, curator of the Capac Community Historical Society Museum. Roxann shares Capac's history of growing and harvesting (by hand) cranberries in the late 1800s. The crop had a very short history, dying off in 1881 as a result of the Great Thumb Fire. The Historical Society will host some events including a craft and bake sale from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 7, as part of Capac Cranberry Christmas. Kids can also make pine cone birdfeeders. Depot tours will be available for free on the day, she said. Other events will take place throughout downtown Capac on Dec. 7. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by a gathering at Melody Park for the Tree Lighting. Members of Capac Classmates Promoting Future Adults are expected to participate in the parade.
